Hi, I'm Lissa and new to the forum... This is a real step of faith for me as I have been horribly allergic to online forums and chat-rooms, but I am going to take Rebecca's word for it that this really is the way to go forward.
So, I am a composer, not an easy life choice. I used to have the perfectly stable life with a serious university post and regular commissions, but couldn't write the music I needed to write as I had too many commitments at work. So I left it all behind me and took a huge step of faith by moving to France (as far out of my comfort zone as I could go) and started my life again. Since, I have made great artistic progress, but am finding the lack of adequate income pretty hard going. I don't believe in the starving artist model at all, I just need to figure out how to be work smarter.
After having read Mr Wattles book several times, and really trying to apply his principles, I realised that changing my habitual thinking is not as easy as I first thought. So here I am, willing to give it my best, as I totally agree with everything I have read in his book, and am positive that the key is changing base beliefs and learning how to better channel my thinking towards achieving my goals.
Thanks to Rebecca for setting up the course, I am sure this is going to do the trick!

Hi Lissa,

I just started the course as well. I wish you the best of luck. Since we're starting the course at about the same time, we may be able to share things as we go along! I bet we both look back one day and see that we have acheived all of our dreams many times over and then some, thanks in part to all the learning we get here. Take care!

Welcome, both of you. I've found the forum VERY useful. I don't always agree or like what others have written, but even at it's worst, it triggers my thinking. It has helped me clarify my thinking - heck, it's helped me see WHAT I'm thinking. At it's best, it does the same... Smile. I guess what I appreciate most is how generous the people on this forum are. It's not like any other forum I've experienced.

Hi Lissa,

Welcome to the forum and glad you're hear. I'm definitely curious to hear how it's been going for you, since I'm a musician too and have had a similar experience so far. Please keep me posted on your discoveries.

Anyway, I'm still relatively new to the programme and am on LL9, but so far it's been very interesting. I've definitely learned a lot of things about myself and have gained a lot particularly by reading and participating in the forum. If you'd like to chat about it sometime, please do give me an email.

Have fun and let me know how it goes!

Sincerely,

David
