Hello,

I have been around the SOGR group for well over a year now. I was just sharing with a friend this morning about how I have noticed the more I am practicing SOGR the better things get. I also notice that I do not practice SOGR as consistantly as I need to.

I first asked the question of "Why am I not consistent with it?" Then I realized the question I need to be asking is "How can I become consistent with it?"

My first step in becoming consistent with it is to come to this forum and post this message. I want to know what others have done to help them stay focused on this work and see if I can find some people interested in holding each other accountable.

Wattles says "To think according to appearances is easy; to think truth regardless of appearances is laborious and requires the expenditure of more power than any other work we are called upon to perform."

Therefore if this work requires the expenditure of more power than any other work it behoves me to get myself as much help as possible. I also recognize that I shouldn't beat myself up for slipping now and then, this is the most difficult thing to do after all.

Anyone interested in setting up a group willing to keep each other accountable, provide encouragement, and inspire each other to "think truth regardless"?

I know this forum provides for some of this and I am grateful it is here. I want something that will be a little more in my face. A manditory e-mail checkin and a weekly conference call. Something like that.

Anyone interested? The only expense I see with this setup is the weekly phone call which would be setup with a free conference room. I think free rooms are still available.

And don't forget you have the Voice Conference Room here online for use by Course members. It's free to you and you don't even have any long distance phone charges.

You just need a PC and a headset with a microphone built in. Doesn't need to be an expensive headset -- I've seen them for as little as $10-12 in a local computer store.

The conference room is there for you -- use it! (And if you want me to participate now and then, just invite me.)

Glad to hear you are interested in forming a small SOGR group.

Here is what I have in mind.

I want our group to remain small enough so that we can get to know each other well and nobody gets neglected, and large enough so we have enough variety of input to help everyone.

I think a maximum of 9 people would be a good upper limit. For now I would be interested in just getting it started with 2 but I feel at least 5 would make it more productive.

I have tried working with the Private forum section here at SOGR but find it too restrictive. I would prefer if we could setup an e-mail group with Yahoo. There we could keep in touch daily with an e-mail check-in which doesn't require going onto the web. I prefer this since I sometimes check and send email from my palm device which I can use anywhere. I don't have web access everywhere.

As for the weekly conference call. I notice afterward that the SOGR site has a voice conference feature. As long as everyone is willing to invest in a headset and their computer system has a suitable sound card, that forum would probably work well. I don't know how good the sound quality is but we can test it out.

I am in the Eastern Standard Time zone. I would like to find a weekly time where we can all get together to discuss our progress and challenges.

I think we can get all this setup with just the two of us and then have others join as we go along. I noticed you have already started inviting others to our group so it looks like you are very enthusiastic about the idea.

Hi Dan. Your suggestion is exactly what I have been looking for. I have been going over the lessons at my own pace and fast too because I am eager, but I can see that as things in my life begin to take on a more urgent tone, I might need a support group to check in with who will hold me to my promises (to myslef.) I would love to set up a conference call or something of that nature and have a community of like minded folk. I feel like we're all in on this great secret and it might be nice to share our experiences with this great experiment. I hope to hear from you.

It's exactly that I want to do for the purpose of maintaining a strong consistency of my purpose.I have recently joined the group and I am glad that it gives us such opportunities.I am highly interested in joining the group. It will keep us all encouraged and focused on the TRUTH, rather than mere appearances.
Thank you. I believe private discussion forum and the voice chat is the best option, though the personal email group idea is highly appreciable too. Let's make the best out of all the ideas.
