Hello all! My name is Mike and I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia with my wife and three daughters (and my dog Fred). I have been searching for the tools to unlock my potential. I had heard of Mr. Wattles before, and was recently re-introduced to him through a colleague. I think this book, the lessons, and this forum will help me in my journey. My biggest issues that hold me back are procrastination and lack of organization, which for me go hand-in-hand. This has been a bigger concern as I truly want to shed these problems and move forward. I have started to counter the procrastination by waking an hour early to start these lessons. I welcome any input or suggestion to help maximize my success. Thanks!

Hi Mike, Welcome to the board. Hope you get what you’re looking for. Just about every topic related to wealth, success and happiness is talked about somewhere here. My first thought on your “procrastination and lack of organization” was, they may just be symptoms of something else. For example, maybe you don’t lack either, but what you do lack is a clear vision of the life you want. Or, maybe you lack faith or confidence in yourself, or faith in what’s possible for you. It would be hard to get moving or organized, if you don’t know where you want to go, or don’t have the belief you can get there. Sometimes asking the right questions of yourself helps. Or, getting a broader perspective. For example, one that I like to think is, I am a human being, and that means I’m capable of anything humanly possible. That helps me get out of the space of just thinking of myself in terms of what I’ve already experienced. Or, I will ask myself from time to time: What would you do, if you could do anything possible? Who would you be? How would you feel, that would be different than you’re used to feeling now? Are you believing in yourself? Just some thoughts. Hope you look around and profit from being here. Hi Mike, I concur with Phil. It's fashionable to judge ourselves for "faults" like "procrastination and lack of organization," but as you study the SOGR you will learn that such labels and judgments are counterproductive. You are not broken and you do not need to be fixed. Your life has a control panel that you have likely never been shown. Through the SOGR, we learn that we can be, do, and have all that we want and need -- and it doesn't require "discipline," "will power" or "hard work." I'm glad to see that you are enrolled in the Practical Genius course. Rebecca will guide you through the journey of discovering your "control panel." She'll help you rev up your engine and take off the breaks. You're going to love SOGR! Keep posting -- I look forward to reading more about your exciting journey! Love and blessings, Rachel

Wow, thank you to Phil and Rachel for really opening my eyes. Thanks to Ms Lady for the kind words of encouragement. The hardest question for me so far is -- what do I want, or better yet -- what is my vision. I just had not realized that it was as important as it is. I think I was hiding behind my "faults" and using that as a way to avoid facing the truth. I am not sure if you two are psychologists or is it the course that has enabled you to see things for me without even knowing me! Thanks for giving me a really good start to this program! Mike

Chiromike, I laughed at the idea that I might be a "psychologist." I'm just a "front of the class" type who loves to talk out what I've learned with other students. The truth is that once you absorb the gist of the the SOGR, these kinds of insights become obvious. You'll be doing it yourself in no time. Also, like you, I was a little anxious about not having a Clear Mental Image (CMI) at first. Rebecca does address this in the course, but what I've found so far is that trying to force it doesn't work. Focus on little things that you enjoy. Think about the feelings of relief, security, ease, and happiness you will have when things start to work out better for you. Those FEELINGS are the most important part anyway. The "images" or specific desires are pretty fluid anyway. Focus on the feelings and you'll do fine. Keep posting! Love and blessings, Rachel
