Hi All,

While I'm actually about to begin LL-8, I had a revelation the other day about Out with the Old and In with the New from LL-2.

As I mentioned in another post somewhere, I had had a successful specialized kinesiology (SK) practice back East in Toronto and Elora - but that "up 'til now" I had not developed much of a practice at all on the Sunshine Coast (SC) - and had been feeling very disheartened that singing students on the SC felt that "Wendy's way too good a singer - I'm not good enough to study with her."

Well, here's the kicker - I found myself explaining to someone how we'd come to live on the SC and I said, "Oh, my sister-in-law said it was cheap and artsy-fartsy." That had actually made me not even want to look for a house on the SC. However, 10 years of singing an opera in the wilderness, by R. Murray Schafer at Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve, made us long to live near the forest and, having lived away from the ocean for 22 years, I also desired to live near the water.
So, we found a wee housie on an acre of forested land, across the street from the ocean - with views of Thormanby Island, Welcome Passage (does it get any nicer than that??), and Vancouver Island's snow clad Mount Arrowsmith. The day we came across on the 7:20am ferry to check out properties, I looked towards the mainland and saw the sun's pink glow on the snow of the Coastal Mountains - and my heart sang. "I was home!"
So, it's time to stop living down to the "cheap and artsy-fartsy" statement and realize that if "up 'til now" a SK practice has not yet materialized here and neither have many singing / harp students - then it's perhaps a sign that something NEW is now flooding towards me in the form of working globally. The new will be very easy logistically - much easier than arranging seminars in Vancouver. Easy is good. Hee, hee!
Thank you WW, thank you Rebecca, thank you all.

Hugs, Health, Wealth & Happiness

Hi Carolyn,

Thanks muchly for your "smiling" response.

Yes, I can see all sorts of wonderful opportunities and will use Eric's motto and SOGR to focus in on one (or maybe 2 Wink activities at a time.

May we all stand squarely in the flowing current, the river of abundance, the flow of life.

Hi Dave,

Thanks so much for your email. In Brain Gym, we actually have a list of words and short phrases which people can choose to explore and use some of the alternatives offered. And it's one thing to teach that sort of thing - yet it's another thing to think of it when you're in the middle of your "stuff!"

One thing I'm finding with SOGR is that I AM doing things more slowly (this would shock most of my friends, believe me LOL) and deliberately. It's quite wonderful. And, what's even more delightful is that if I'm unable to get my totally unrealistic TO DO list items completed on a given day - I am much more gentle with myself - in fact, I'm making more and more reasonable TO DO lists - hoorah!

Thanks again, Dave, for your insight.

May we all stand squarely in the flowing current, the river of abundance, the flow of life.

I think you have hit on something which a lot of people can benefit from. For me, I call this "listening to myself and recognizing what I am saying (or writing)". Many of us are on such auto pilot with our thoughts and words that we don't notice things like you picked up on. This is one of the reasons I have chosen to lessen my use of certain words (have to, need to, must, etc.)

Soon after beginning my journey here I realized the power of the Law of Attraction. I then saw the link between words, thoughts and feelings. This has enabled me to notice my "up 'til now" thinking and effectively shift my thoughts to things which are more empowering and just plain make me feel great!

That sounds just wonderful and your description of the evening sun on the mountains makes it even more so.

Delightful!

And it is delicious that your practice is taking off!

The sky's the limit when we live a certain way.

Smiling, Carolyn
