This was sort of an aha! moment for me when I read the book and when I reread this passage when I was doing Life Lab 11.

I'm in the movie business. All my life I've been very optimistic. I always thought that someday I would make it. I was confident in that. And although I hadn't made much money in Hollywood or attained the success that I envisioned for myself, and although my family told me to quit at every opportunity they could..and although I must have had several THOUSAND rejections over the last 16 years of being in the business...

I always believed that someday I would make it.

But then I realized...I keep seeing myself as a big star, a big filmmaker...

I kept seeing myself making movies out of the scripts that I wrote...

I kept envisioning these movies as those that someday would make me big...

And I kept thinking about SOMEDAY making it.

I have been putting off my success because I keep thinking that someday I'm going to make it big.

Lesson learned? I'm making it big starting right now!

Hope this might help someone out there. Because I've been laughing at myself since I read the book.

I totally agree with you mylesaway. It's time to stop just dreaming and start living our dreams. Today was a challenging day for me in terms of having the courage to talk to people about what I do. What I do is help people retire in 15 years and get out of debt and become financially independent. The problem is that the people who need the services that we render is in denial about the need they have for the services. So my skills must come up in showing them in an eloquent way why they need to get involved in THEIR financial future more seriously. Others are making it BIG in the business and why can't I. I know that I must do things in a Certain Way in order for me to be successful. So today, in fact, I made a conscious decision to start doing things in a Certain Way from now on and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I will begin to experience riches beyond my wildest dreams.

Isn't all this shifting around great?!

I'll share a subtle one of mine.

These are happening all over the place for me, but one in particular: part of my vision is owning a beautiful home.
Right now we are renting.
For a few weeks I was envisioning and envisioning this beautiful home.
Then, the other day - aha! I began to live in my beautiful home right where I am. I began to take special care of what I've got right now, in preparation for that beautiful home I will own. I felt different about where I'm at -- started to take more pride in our humble abode. What a beautiful feeling.
