I just finished LL #9 in which we're guided to stop watching the news. I stopped watching news in 1990 and I can verify that Rebecca is 100% correct when she says you don't have to watch the news to keep up with any important current events. There are enough news junkies around who are more than willing to keep you updated. Once a week I read the Sunday paper, and that's puh-lenty of news. Why did I quit? I was just starting in real estate and my broker told me that Realtors needed to keep their energy up because it is a very stressful business. The news, he said, is nothing but a list of disasters. Additionally, the commercials are designed to make you sick. That did it for me. I quit and haven't missed it at all.

I hope this encourages those who might be quavering a bit on this issue. Trust me, you'll be very glad you quit the news.

I had a nice feeling of clearing our kinds of mess from my head when I last had a news fast! I still have to keep abreast of current events related to my line of work(financial),but with an eye to drawing out the best in everything! Big Grin

A friend of mine many years ago refered to it as the "old's"! Same old stuff, just different names and locations.

Just a reminder that the LifeLab encourages you to TRY this -- just for a week -- and notice the difference in how you feel and in your perceptions of people and things around you.

As a former journalist (with a degree in it and everything!) Wink who used to have a three-papers-a-day habit, I can tell you that I haven't missed out on ANYTHING by letting go of that. And what I've GAINED has been wonderful.

It's just an experiment. And if you don't give it a shot, you'll never know ...

Love & blessings, and, of course--
EXPECT Success!
Rebecca
