I've had another thought!

I've spent a bit of time on this lifelab because I seem to be picking up little snippets that I missed last time around. I've been a lot more aware of how I think, and how others around me think and project their thoughts .... like sitting in a town square watching all the actions and interactions of people going about their daily ventures.

The last question in the LL, "What is Rich" got me thinking about the various answers I have previously put down, most of which have had an abundance of money as the core focus. Then a thought occured! When you look at a simple sentence, be it of any kind, there are usually two words that appear quite frequently, "the" or "and", or both. Individually they don't create anything, but when mixed with other words they are the key ingredients that form a coherent sentence. They can start a sentence, be part of a sentence ... but has anyone ever seen them end a sentence? They are valuable tools to use in order to get a message across, yet on their own can create nothing. So too with "money", it is a valuable tool and an essential element to creating a vision of substance, but on its own has no value until put in a position to create a meaning.

I suppose my point is that whilst in the past the word "money" has been a part of my definitions, it need not be so if the underlying value is evident in the final sentence. So long as money is not the focal point you can create an abundance of "riches" on any plane, and live the life of abundance you desire. "Money" is necessary to help you achieve all you envisage so long as, like "the" or "and", it is not used as the end or focused product.

My definition of "rich"?
"Becoming all you can be by living the realization of dreams to reality".

May your dreams turn to reality.

Guideg, I love it! Money is meaningless unless we use it in some way.

Thank you for sharing your wealth of thoughts Smile

God bless you,

Hi Guideg

I believe the first part of your quote regarding money is a great "AHA" moment for you and shows depths of applied thinking to the whole question of "What is Rich". Congratulations and well done! Smile

As for your definition of rich, can't argue with that.

Your post shows inspirational thinking and that is a pleasure to read!

Thanks for sharing.

Blessings

"Money is meaningless unless we use it in some way."

This reminds me of something Bill Gates said in a recent interview. He was explaining why he is encouraging some of the world's richest people to give away half of their wealth. He said "after a certain point [of acquiring wealth] you can't spend it anyway, so you might as well try to make the world a better place for your children."

"After a certain point, you can't spend it..." Can you imagine having so much wealth that you literally CANT spend it all? At that point, it certainly is meaningless -- that's why Bill Gates is trying to find a way to make it useful.

Love and blessings,
Rachel
