I am confused about how to "live as if it were true" and at the same time live within my means. If I am living as if the money I want, need, and expect is coming to me, then I don't worry about money and I find myself accumulating credit card debt. This doesn't seem all that wise. On the other hand, for me to live within my means right now would require some drastic changes, as at the moment my only income is from unemployment insurance, which is about a quarter of what I normally have earned and so very much out of line with my regular financial obligations. It's a bit tricky to figure this out and I could use some help!

I love to walk. I love the outdoors and all it offers. When I'm on the bus, I read or look at the sky, passersby, etc. It is not painful in any way to walk or ride the bus. Still. I have not manifested my vehicle.

I have no trouble envisioning driving my own vehicle when I get my son's to drive for a couple of days. I can get the feeling and the freedom.

Any tips would be appreciated?

Well... first, it sounds, while you may desire a car, want you really want to feel is freedom. The first thing is that, as you know, cars can't do this. A car is a thing, an inanimate object. So, perhaps, get rid of the idea that the car will give you what you are seeking and find the feeling of freedom you are looking now...right now. My guess is that it won't be hard. Even a prisoner locked up in a prison cell can be free, freedom is a state of mind.

I am not saying that your car won't make your life easier, or that you won't find your life more of a convenience by the use of your car. And I will even agree that certain freedoms will come through having a car. Believe me, being a NY'er, who doesn't own a car, I know what it is like to rely on bus schedules. But ask someone else what having a car means to them and they may tell you, "gas guzzler, a pain to deal with, always in the shop", for example.

My point of this is to consider that the very thing you want from a car is something you manifest right now...freedom! You sound perfectly at peace and content walking and taking the bus. Isn't this the freedom you are seeking? Isn't it freedom be at peace and happy?

Next, how do you not know that a car is on its way? What proof do you have that one isn't coming? None. You don't know and everytime you look over your shoulder and confirm it isn't there, you affirm that it isn't coming either. So you don't have a car right now...does that mean that you don't have freedom?

It's funny, you have the exact thing you are seeking in a car, whenever you aren't thinking about not having a car? When you think about the fact that you don't have a car yet, you lose that feeling of freedom. So are you really surprised is that the one thing you don't have right now...is a car? It's sort of humorous when you think about it, isn't it?

I hope that helps.
Best to you,
Bridgette

These are all terrific comments. You have helped me resolve this confusion. I have no problem enjoying the success that I am creating in my imagination! And I can still live within my means today without compromising my faith that it is coming. This get a little more tricky when making investment decisions, but for the most part I feel clear about how to handle this now. Thank you!

Blake, Petra is right on the money when she says you live the life you are envisioning "in your head." Here's how Wally puts it: "In the mental realm, enter at once into full enjoyment of the things you want."

That costs you NOTHING. Not worrying about money is NOT the same as spending foolishly money you don't have.

If, at the moment, your income is less than normal and living within your means would require "drastic changes," then I'd say: Make drastic changes.

You'll feel better and not having that burden of increasing debt hanging over you, well, that's like cutting off the anchor tied to your ankle while you're in deep water. Your thoughts will DEFINITELY improve -- and then so will the results of your thoughts.

Love & blessings, and, of course--
EXPECT Success!

Hi Blake!

First congratulations on setting up your own business, I wish for you that it will be the best step you´ve ever taken.

Second, I think you should be living the life you are envisioning in your head and not spending money already that is still on its way to you.
Investing in your business is okay, but with all expenses it is wise to think if you really do have a need (and I mean a NEED here not a WANT) for it.

A bottle of champaign for instance is great, but you don´t need to have it to satisfy your thirst, the same with kaviar a.s.o.

Be happy en thankful for everything you are having now and the rest will come on its own.

Good luck to you!

Petra
