I joined this great community of great minds since last year and I have not been able to make any significant progress.
I am fully aware that it’s solely my fault that this is so. I need help to overcome my problem and be able to concentrate on the course.

This has been my problem from time. I always start with great enthusiasm only to be easily discouraged.

I am confident all these work, but I can’t seem to make it work for me please HELP

You may be working to hard at overcoming your problem! The instructions on the course is to relax into it, let it be easy and fun! If it's easy and fun than it's play and not work! Play is something that you get to do; not have to do!

The course (and life) is not a race. No prize on who comes in first!

Two other things - 1) How are you doing on gratitude? 2) What do you want to be, do and have?

Be good to yourself, live life passionately and always, always expect success!! I don't know how long I will live, but I'll live until I die!!

Amikail19, how much of the course have you actually done? There may be a hint in your statement about MAKING it work. You don't have to make it work; it's more about relaxing into the process and letting in all the good. Sometimes we can get too much into the "head" stuff, when it works so much better to pay attention to the feelings because they always show us where our thoughts are REALLY focused, no matter what we may say to ourselves or others.

You asked for help. What kind of help do you want? And when you say you haven't made progress, how do you know that's true? How are you measuring progress? (I notice that here your subject line says you're not making "much" progress and where you posted it in another forum category you said you're not making "any," so I'm wondering.)

(One little procedural note: Please don't post the same message in more than one forum because that splits up the conversation and can be confusing. Thanks.)

EXPECT Success!

A thing that helps/helped me a great deal was when I truly understood that this is a science and the importance of approaching it as such. This science, like others is subject to certain immutable laws.

An analogy that works well for me is to bring it alive for me in a couple of my hobbies.

I'm a woodworker and build fine furniture as a hobby. My first attempts at some complex joinery such as dovetails were not to successful. I didn't say to myself, "dovetails don't work for me." The laws of motion and force applied to the joinery.

I realized I needed to practice and refine my techniques and skills to make dovetails properly. I knew what I wanted, had faith in my ability to learn the science (techniques) and apply the knowledge.

When studying and applying the SOGR, I remind myself it is a science. When results aren't happening to my desires or expectations, I understand there is an area of the science or law I'm not applying properly. It's not that it doesn't work for me, it's that I'm applying a principle incorrectly.

I'm one of those people that wins stuff all the time (cash, cruises, airline tickets, clothing, iPods and a lot of other great things). People ask me how I do it. My answer? "I just know and believe that I will win so I do."

Now, I'm using this course and learning to apply this to the financial areas of my life. I know it work because it's a science.

Hope this helps with your thought process and in building your faith Amikail.

To your abundance,

Paul

My main problem is that of focusing on what I want. I can’t really answer that all important question of what I really want. It’s as if I get too distracted easily. I need help to be focused and be more consistent in my pursuit of success

Thanks

Hi Amikail,

To Rebecca's reply: Are you making any progress?

I had mentioned gratitude above. How about listing out in a reply 5 things that you are grateful for?

Hi again Amikail,

Looks like you have a lot to be grateful for! From an outsider's perspective it looks like you are making much progress!

Where are you on the course? Do you have any questions that you would like answered?

I am on live lab 12 and I don’t seem to be able to form my clear mental image yet. I guess my greatest challenge so far is to know what I really want. I can’t really get to resolve this.

Have you done the exercise of writing down 10 people whom you admire and 5 or 6 things about each person that like about them? I have found this exercise so helpful, because when you know WHY you are here on this planet and WHAT your purpose for being here is, the clear mental image will come.

KNOW that we are ALL here for a special purpose. Smile

Writing down what you are grateful for can be astonishing. I did this about 2 years ago -before I knew about the SOGR. I had a few bad days in succession (which I know everyone has from time to time) and I sat down and started writing. Before I began I thought I would be done in a minute or two but a half hour later I had a list of about 150 things. It made me realize that I take a lot of what I have for granted.

Maybe if you changed the way in which you speak to yourself, you would open up the flow a bit more. I go back to my days of studying NLP and becoming conscious of my words.

Instead of saying I can't make it work, try "I haven't made it work yet" or "I'm still learning to make it work."

Instead of writing "I don't seem to be able to form..." try "I'm still working on forming..."

Look back through your life and I'm sure you will see many things you "couldn't" do that you now do easily. At one time, you couldn't even walk or speak!

Decide you will and you will. Decide to focus and you will focus. At first, it may just be baby steps but celebrate them and take bigger steps the next time.

With love and Roses on your Windshield ,

Paul
