I love how LL 27 builds on LL26. No complaining becomes even deeper with great questions.
1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned? Thumper's words from Bambi come to mind, "if ya can't say nothin' nice, don't say nothin' at all." Lots of people speak truth that is very hurtful or damaging. I like 2,3, and 4 so much. I would like to govern my life that way. The Golden Rule also comes to mind, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Tithing is a principle I have practiced from a very young age. And I liked Rebecca's comment when asking what? Also giving our time, talents, etc. I try to do that too. I have a friend who, if I ask him for a favor and he can do it, he not only says yes, but he almost always says, "I'd be glad to." I like that service with a smile attitude. And since I really like the promises given for tithing, that Rebecca shared without quoting it. She called it "throwing open the floodgates of abundance." Here is what the Bible says. Malachi 3:10: Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. I can say that combined with gratitude, I have often felt as if the windows of heaven were flung wide open. We have always had enough and now that I know to expect more, I am sure there will be more. |
