Hello all
I'm on LL4 now and, although I've been aware of SOGR for a while intellectually, working with the LifeLabs has opened up my thinking - not that I'm having any epiphanies but just mulling things over really. Anyway my situation is that I'm in a job I don't like and I've been working to set my self up as a freelance copywriter and feng shui consultant (not at the same time!). However, whenever I've thought about giving up my job, which is quite well paid, I get very fearful about not having the regular income - especially in this doom and gloom crisis time. Yesterday was a particularly bad day and I was feeling awful. However, woke up this morning and was driving to work and, as usual the thought came about deciding to leave work and there was no fear - there was a tingle of excitement. I feel tickled pink because this is an AHA, albeit a very gentle one |

Hi Jackie,
First let me say that I was happy to hear that there was no fear in the thought about leaving your present job. I hope that you don't mind discussing this particular quote.
It's your choice as to how you feel! Part of the certain way is to be able to create positive feelings where ever you are. Between every stimulus and response there is a gap; and in that gap we get to choose our response. When you get into the businesses that you desire there will be stimuli that could produce a bad day if you choose that response. And a series of bad days could destroy that business. Hope this helps! Be good to yourself, live life passionately and always, always expect success!! I don't know how long I will live, but I'll live until I die!! Tom Strong |

Hi Jackie,
I went through the same thing a few years back. there have been ups and downs but I wouldn't trade it for anything. It seems the tingle of excitement is the beginning of an exciting time in your life! When you compare the feeling yesterday to today I think it's important to note that you replaced the feeling of dread with something positive. A lot of people struggle because the only effort is to suppress negative feelings. It's like concentrating on what you don't want (and end up getting). The more practiced you become at replacing the negative with the positive emotions and focusing on your CMI, the easier it becomes and the more aligned you are with manifesting your desires. To your abundance! Paul To your abundance! |

Hey, Jackie, you can always start slowly and "on the side" with the copywriting or feng shui. You don't have to chuck your current job first. In fact, if you reread our pal Wally he's really quite clear about all of that and especially about how the best way to segue yourself into the work you DO want to be doing is to "more than fill your PRESENT place." Have you read this? It might give you some ideas. Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Rebecca |

Hello all
Thanks for your comments and the Pike Place info is really useful Rebecca. I am now choosing how my days at work go (with a smile on my face) and am really grateful to my boss - without him I wouldn't have gone out there searching for a better future. so I toast him now and in years to come x |

You find yourself where I was six years ago Jackie -- a well paying, but unsatisfying job.
One thing I did that really moved me through my day in a better feeling was spend my lunch breaks and drive to and from work, listening to recordings and reading books that helped me grow and prepare for the business I planned to create. I was enrolled in courses and made sure to complete my assignments every lunch hour. I started to like going to work because I drove there and home alone and had an hour lunch to myself. (at home that time was never quite that easy to schedule) I had two hours a day just for me and my future business. I was also grateful every week for the paycheques because they funded my education and allowed me to hire professionals to help me do everything in my business with quality and professionalism. Can you do something similar? |

Hi Laurie
Thanks for that and it's exactly what I've been doing. I go to the gym every morning and another lady who goes swimming (she's 83 by the way) said to me one morning when I was complaining about having to go to work. 'But isn't that how you afford your car and the gym membership and everything else. And you're both right. I certainly couldn't have done everything I have without the salary cheque. Anyway - an update on where I am. I am officially leaving my job at the end of May. I am picking up some freelance work and building an e-commerce site. I'll probably pick up some temp work if I need to pay the bills and I am tremendously excited about it all. And the funny thing is that since I 've made the decision it's as if everything's rolling into place |

You go girl...This was great for me to read this morning as I went through lesson 9 in guarding your thoughts. Although I have limited my exposure to the news, i still have a long way to go in managing some of the other 40-50 thousand thoughts that become a part of my day on a daily basis.

The great thing is that you don't have to manage them. Just be aware of them and don't believe everything you think. Most of them just flash on by anyway. It's the ones you latch onto that simply need to be questioned, and when you question them and see that they're just thoughts and not YOU, then they let go of you. Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Rebecca |
