Hello,
I have just recieved a no from the local medical practise office Manager; I was asked to submit my C.V. plus details of a workshop I also submited information about other medical practises which employ Alexander Technique Teachers. She has asked me to come in and do a 15 minute presentation, instead to see if there is any interest. Well there is conclusive research evidence that this method works to alleviate chronic back pain. All published in the medical journals this year and I want to be able to help patients; all my work is just down the drain; I feel throughly fed up and dont know where to go with this next. I would'nt be so bad if my private practise was thriving but it's not, yet. It seems that things that I start just dont happen and I get fed up and feel depressed and then wonder what to do with myself. I am not ready to be thrown unto the scrap heap just yet. some kind up-lifting words would really help. regards, Tanya |

Hi Tanya,
Remember that when one door closes, another opens. I just had my first juried show yesterday. Although my work did not get even an honorable mention which I am totally okay with, the organizer of the show confided that he voted my painting #1! And as I was leaving the show, I ran into someone I know who has offered to buy it and will be contacting me. Hi Tanya Thanks for sharing. Remember LL10 in the PG course? If I remember correctly, it's about truth versus appearance? Well, in that lesson we learnt that we are BIGGER than what life throws at us because when we choose to see ourselves as part of the benevolent universe and all there is, we have within us the power to believe in whatever brings us greater good. What is the greater good? Amidst all the emotion, choosing the greater good is letting go of our smaller minds' fixation on what it cannot do , and giving our problems which appear big from our smaller self to our bigger self, the part that is creative and is part of the universal intelligence.when we do that, suddenly ideas can flow quickly that either gives us immediate relief or towards a longer term solution Blessings Kevin "I think of life itself now as a wonderful play that I've written for myself... and so my purpose is to have the utmost fun playing my part." Hi Tanya; Just a thought. Try a new channel for your great work! Sounds like you have everything you need for your project. There are many New Age avenues both online and off who would love to participate! You may even charge a fee. If you know someone who has Web developement experience, you could have your own web site to charge for live access. There are a world of possibilities. Right now you are trying to change and teach an old Med establishment which is historicly against alternative medicine, no matter how beneficial it is. The doors are still very tightly closed. You have something great to offer, and it sounds like you've done the hard part of creating your class material. Sincerely Xan |

Hello John and Rebecca,
Thankyou, thankyou, I decided to say yes and my whole being felt better. I can give this presentation as if I am being paid! Who else is in this unique position. Me! I already have the facts and figures on powerpoint I can take them in and talk; I can also give a mini lesson, whilst they are asking questions; it is "hands on" work and the experience may be benefical to the person I am working on. My own G.P has shown an interest she is a kind and caring and efficient doctor; these are good people. And I have sent a proposal into the Primary Care Trust and they are meeting at the end of the month. I did meditate and" heard you can go elsewhere" and I have got in contact with the Public Health Department's office. So I shall be e-mailing them. with regards, Tanya www.Tanya Whannell.ws |

Well, if you choose to think that, then it will be true, of course, in time. And the only one who can throw you onto "the scrap heap" is you. (Actually, as a former marketing consultant, I'd say that what you've been asked to do is perfect. A 15-minute presentation to ascertain the level of interest makes MUCH more sense than sinking a lot of time, energy, and money into creating a full workshop. This is a huge mistake many business newbies make: creating the product before they find out what the "demand" for it is. If I were you, I think I might embrace this and do the best 15-minute presentation of my life. I'd find a way to showcase it -- "an offer you can't refuse" -- to get the maximum number of people to that presentation and then I'd give them a thousand bucks' worth of benefit for free. AND before I did any of this ACTION stuff, I'd make sure my thoughts and feelings were in total harmony with my desired outcome -- which means letting go of all this "poor me" stuff. As for kind, uplifting words, how about some direct from Wally? A student of this science had set his mind on making a certain business combination which seemed to him at the time to be very desirable, and he worked for some weeks to bring it about. When the crucial time came, the thing failed in a perfectly inexplicable way. It was as if some unseen influence had been working secretly against him. But he was not disappointed. On the contrary, he thanked God that his desire had been overruled, and went steadily on with a grateful mind. In a few weeks an opportunity so much better came his way that he would not have made the first deal on any account, and he saw that a mind which knew more than he knew had prevented him from losing the greater good by entangling himself with the lesser. That is the way every seeming failure will work out for you, if you keep your faith, hold to your purpose, have gratitude, and do -- every day -- all that can be done that day, doing each separate act in a successful manner. When you make a failure, it is because you have not asked for enough. Keep on, and a larger thing then you were seeking will certainly come to you. Remember this. Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Rebecca |

Hi Tanya
Always remember that any minor setback reveals a new opportunity. Feeling negative and depressed, although it may feel appropriate right now, will not help your cause. You need to step back and look at your idea again, meditate on it, and listen carefully for the answers you need. Try not to fall into the trap of pushing for a specific outcome. If you pre-influence your mindset with what you think (not feel) is what you want, then you are going to override the creative trying to get through, and it will take that much longer to get to the truth. There may be something you haven't even considered, that will come to you if you just listen and let it come through. I don't know much about your business, but I do know that many people suffer from back pain, and doctors are not really very good at fixing them. I have a feeling that the doctors might see you as a threat to them and their orthodox treatments. You need to find your audience elsewhere. Try holding a clinic in a pharmacy chain like Boots or Superdrug. Try your local library or some local church groups. Frequent readers get back pain through bad posture, and church pews are very uncomfortable. (Just a suggestion). And - remember that you will succeed. You can't fail if you don't know how, so don't let thoughts of failure enter into your mind! Keep your CMI alive. |
