I JUST realised something.
A quick background story - we were building our dream house and lots of things went wrong. When I did LL5,(ages ago) it asked us to think about what opportunities we could glean from problems that faced us. I wrote down the problems regarding the house, but really struggled to see what opportunities lay within such a major heartbreaking struggle. My father (who I had an estranged relationship with) offered to help out, and ended up basically finishing off the building of the house. I mean he drove over 2 hours out of his way several times a week for over a year to finish of the roof, floors, decking, balustrades, tiling, beams - the list goes on. Today he came up and fixed a problem with the rangehood in the kitchen, and installed an extra shelf. I sent off an email to him thanking him, and added how grateful we were feeling to have him in our lives. We've never said those kind of things to each other. But I was just mulling it over in my head and realised that the whole house debacle really did major things to improve our relationship and I am so grateful for that. Then I remembered LL5 and had one of those blinding AHA moments - had to share it! Thanks for "listening"!

What do you want to bet me that email didn't bring a tear to his eye? That is a wonderful story, and a great testimony that behind every problem, there is an opportunity hiding that will bless and enrich us. When we master the faith to always see that, and Lord knows I haven't yet (but I'm getting there), we will be bullet-proof!
