Hello all
I just wanted to discuss my latest circumstances with you and see what you all thought. I was made redundant today. It is bittersweet because although I hated the job by the time I went on maternity leave, it was security. I came home and logged onto my computer and a company had sent me an email about my business and wanted me to give them a quote. My initial reaction to the redundncy was to try and contact everyone i knew that would have leads for work because I need an income. But at the same time this means I can concentrate on the business. My CMI is the business and to get it upand running and for me to have a certain amount in my bank by next September. But then I get scared and think, are you crazy, get a job and bring money in. I dont want to work in employment and for the past 1 years I have wanted my own business. What do I do? I know this is tough question to answer but I appreciate the feedback Much love xx I am expecting success |

Well, this illustrates perfectly that the job is NOT "security," doesn't it? And, yes, it's an opportunity. Now YOU get to decide what kind of opportunity it is.
Here's something to consider. If you are feeling overwhelmed and frightened and pressured by the need for an income, then you are giving a LOT of your focus, faith, and feeling to those sort of things. That means that you will attract MORE of those sorts of things. For some, that wouldn't be an ideal situation in which to try to create a new business. On the other hand, there are people who, faced with the same circumstances, would find it all invigorating and deliciously challenging and spring right up and focus on what they want to create. And so for them, the same events and situation would be a fantastic launch pad. Which way is it for you? If you tend toward the fear and overwhelm, then consider that it might make more sense to do something that brings in money right away so that you remove that particular pressure. Work on your business in your spare time -- and that means NOT overworking in a job (just as Wally says) -- so that you can do it with joy and enthusiasm. Or save up first, if that's what's needed to release the pressure. None of these actions is what will create. But sometimes we can take an action that IS a step in the right direction -- the way we want to head -- that will ease up the situation enough that NOW we can think more clearly, breathe more clearly, and find it MUCH easier (and sometimes just possible at all) to have a clarity of vision and to be able to feel the inspiration when it comes and see the doors when they open. Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Rebecca |

Dear Buddhist Chick,
How do you feel when you think about your job? How do you feel when you think about your business? I am currently unemployed which led me to these conclusions. I don't know what the future will bring. I am now watching The Secret. It is good to be reminded that we have unlimited powers. We are not limited by our current reality. Because where we are today, is the result of yesterday's thoughts. Today we can choose thoughts that will carry us to an exciting tomorrow. Now look what you did, you got me all excited again God bless you, Caroline My Gift To You: 50,000 Guaranteed Visitors To Your Site |

Rebecca, I love that - deliciously excited. And I am that right now.
I am beginning to realise that this is actually what I wanted but I wanted to be made redundant after I started making money from the business - but just because the money has not landed in my bank account, doesn't mean I have not made it yet right - hence as I sat on the sofa crying with my husband with shock and scared because we have a little baby to look after, I logged on to the internet, checked my business account and the biggest company that we approached sent me a request for a finacial proposal. I think it was the universes way of saying that I will be making money and the redundancy has come at the right time. It means that we have this unexpected lumpsome whereas I was on 25% of my salary on maternity leave! The fear always seems to come in in the middle of the night - especially after I have done the feed and am trying to get back to sleep. I find it really hard to shake then too. With respect of going back top employment - who am I kidding??? The reason I came on SOGR was because I wanted to do my own thing and stay at home with the baby and guess what, today was the first step Many thanks for your wonderful words xx I am expecting success |

I can relate. That time of night can seem scary because the only action you seem to able to take in the middle of the night is to worry, right? Find something else. I suggest you find a ritual of some kind to help you feel calm and happy after you've fed the baby, before you go back to bed. It could be reading something, going online to these posts, doing some yoga, watching a mind movie, giving thanks -- almost anything that makes you feel good will work. You might want more than one thing and rotate them around. Some people keep gratitude or success journals. Something like that could give you a lovely thing to read just before going back to bed. Or contemplate your CMI. I remember nursing as one of the most wonderful experiences. You get to connect with your child in a unique and beautiful way. Perhaps just dwelling on the beautiful miracle that is your child could help you to keep that sense of trust. If the universe can bring your baby into being with (let's face it) minimal interference on your part, then don't you believe that it can easily provide for you and your family? Always remember that your first responsibility is to get your thinking and feeling right. That means feel GOOD, and focus on experiences and things you want in your life. Anything you can find that will help you to do that is an important and valuable tool for you. Your job is NOT to "figure things out," or force your goals or even take action in ANY way. (Action happens AFTER you've adjusted your thoughts and emotions and you will know it's right because it's so easy, fun, and exciting that you just can't help yourself.) Just find a way to stay calm and happy as much as possible. Especially just before you go to sleep. You are one the right track Buddhist Chick. It really is all going to be okay. In fact, as you know from your CMI, it's going to be wonderful. Love and blessings, Rachel |
