I'm looking for feedback.....
I've been feeling irritable and discontented. No real reason for it. What do you do to get to the space of creating the life that you want? Is it as simple as being grateful? I have a great life, relationships, job but sometimes I get in a funk and I have a feeling of lack--not enough, and I don't feel like I'm doing what I love. What do you do on a daily basis to stay on track? What works for you? Thanks for your help with this! Brian |

Brian,
Gratitude works for me! I just posted my second gratitude journal for the day. My life is going through a very special challenge right now. One of a kind and lotsa not so great feelings that come with it. But I stick with looking at what is good about my life. I post my regular gratitude journals. I appreciate the small and the big stars even if I don't always write about them. Jobs are hard to come by these days so I decided to take a leap of faith and really work on my business, and in my business. Lo and behold, a special trainer is coming to us right around the same time of my business relaunch. He is coming to my country from the other side of the planet!!! I believe I attracted that. And thanks to all the things that I did not do in the past. I know exactly what I will do this time. Promote the event so my business is an instant money and success magnet for myself and for everyone who wants to work with me! And it put the "challenge" that I was dealing with, up to now, in a whole different light. Like a 180 degrees turn in fact. Been doing the gratitude stuff on a daily basis so I guess that is one of the big secrets of my succes God bless you, Caroline My Gift To You: 50,000 Guaranteed Visitors To Your Site |

Thanks for the response Caroline! Past experience has shown me that if I live in gratitude and faith, I don't have the fear and other negative feelings. Maintaining these positive feelings is the challenge (opportunity).
The opportunity for me (and I love the way Phil talks about turning these challenges into opportunities) is to not let the negative feelings in -- to really change the way I think to not get stuck on the negative. I go through periods where I get down on myself for not being further ahead with my ability to stay positive in my feelings. And then I think I would have more of what I want if I could apply the principles of sogr in my life more consistently. I get in the negative thinking mode, and move backwards--at least that's what it feels like. I don't feel like I'm relaxed and enjoying this process. I feel like I've gone through a period of moving backwards. I look back at some of my posts where I describe what has worked for me but I'm not consistent with how I practice this--maybe I'm not as motivated as I should be. I think I should be sooooo much farther ahead with where I am at with having the life I want and I think that is really the problem I am dealing with right now. I'm not sure if I'm making sense so I'll stop my post for now. Let me know if you have any insights. Thank you! Brian |

Brian, This is a common question. I think it is natural to occasionally experience dissatisfaction or self doubt. For me, it was important to forgive myself for any negative thoughts and realize that it's okay to just relax. There is no hurry at all. The universe has already answered all your prayers, you just need to get into alignment with them so you can receive them. As Caroline said, gratitude is crucial. Wattles said that gratitude is our connection to the universe. There is no power to manifest without gratitude. That being said, I really think that food and exercise can play a big part in helping us to feel good enough to do the SOGR. If your brain chemistry is off, being grateful can seem almost impossible. So maybe just notice whether what you're eating, drinking or doing makes you feel better or worse. Here's another idea: whenever you start to feel down on yourself or notice dissatisfaction or stress about your situation, try just doing something fun. Something that has no other purpose but just to make you feel good. Play a game, have an ice cream sundae, hang out with a friend, whatever. Feeling good is your first responsibility, because it makes everything else possible -- plus it's fun! I love that the universe is set up to make being happy our most important job. How great is that! Anyway, I know you'll do great! Love and blessings Rachel |

hi soup,
The good thing about this " negative " things you talk about is that you are noticing it. Actually it shows you are moving forward in the right direction. The very fact that you are conscious of it is really something to cheer about. it is ok to have this feeling every now and then. The key is once you are aware of it you start taking the necessary steps to change this feeling into a better one. Gratitude as mentioned by Caroline is one, i like to use repeated affirmation and visualization of my heart desire to improve my feeling. There are many other ways that have beeen mentioned variosly in this forum. you just chose the one that you enjoy and that works for you. Best wishes. Successfully yours Abdul. |

Hi Brian,
You are making a lot of sense! But. I notice a tad of hurry in your thoughts. Hurry is not SOGR thinking. The Formless/Universe/God will move in its own pace and in its own way. Our job is to focus on what we want and have faith and gratitude that it is on its way. And take efficient action. It would be unreasonable to expect from yourself to be rarara positive all of the time. Life just does not work that way. Over the past 3 days I had a bit of a struggle here. Some things are happening that I am not happy with, some things that I am even angry with. But yesterday I got some great news and shifted my focus. Back to gratitude and hey, add all the excitement and enthusiasm that comes from the good news. So I won't be wasting my time in Negativity, which for the most part are things beyond my control anyway so it would be stupid to hang around there. Hope I made sense to you again. Maybe you can toss in a bit of celebrating because looking back, you must have come a long way. Try and keep it fun and you will be attracting all the happy success that you desire. And be nice to yourself. Hey I stumble every now and then. Big deal. Perfectionism is not helpful either. God bless you, Caroline My Gift To You: 50,000 Guaranteed Visitors To Your Site |

Hi Brian,
By our thoughts we create our CMI's; by our action we recieve them! Do you have a Clear Mental Image of what you want? Have you recieved any inspiration of what action would help you move toward those Images? Have you taken any action toward what you want? Hope this helps! BTW; the action that I took when our busisness was going down hill because my wife and I were argueing about it was; 1) I gave her a cup of coffee and a hug every morning! 2) I listened to her points of view more! We stopped fighting, our employees stopped taking sides, our clients enjoyed comming into our shop, BUSINESS SOARED! Be good to yourself, live life passionately and always, always expect success!! I don't know how long I will live, but I'll live until I die!! Tom Strong |

Wow! Thank you all for your suggestions. It is so cool that there are so many people that want to help.
I've written several posts to these forums the past couple of days and I think I know what is causing me to have this feeling of resistance. In another area of this forum I described how I have been trying to build a network marketing business for the past year. Up til now, I have only been able to recruit one person to join my team. Building a team is the first thing I think about when I wake up and I think about it all day long. When I talk to people I'm thinking about how I can bring up my business. (In looking back my thoughts deal mostly with lack and urgency verses visualizing a thriving, successful business) Having my network marketing business being successful is a major piece of my CMI and I'm frustrated to not have much of a team at this point. I'm sure this is what has been troubling me. I'm working on letting the negative feelings go, relaxing, visualizing and feeling my business being successful. Thank you again for your responses!!! Wow, Brian! As I recall, we started this journey about the same time. I'm feeling a lot of the same things that you describe!
My husband and I, too, have a network marketing business (and after reading your posts on the other thread, I believe we are in the same one). While we have more in our downline than just one person (I actually realized a few days ago that, somewhere along the way, we hit a goal we had set a while back for the number of people in our business... we have reset the goal!), we have a long way to go to be making the kind of money we would like and it seems to be taking forever to get there while we watch others who have been in for less time reach the highest level of the company. I just scrapped the rest of what I was going to post because I just had a revelation. (In fact, I’m rewriting it again after reading your other posts!) You have heard of the 80/20 rule, right? We have been told (and I had heard this many times before) that for every 10 presentations we make of our marketing plan, we should host 2 people. I have been thinking that we just haven’t been getting anywhere lately and have been really discouraged, but as I was writing, I realized that we have, in fact, been seeing that 80/20 rule in effect. We’ve just been doing a lot of our presentations for downline and not enough for ourselves. If we step it up a bit, we should see better results! I think the biggest problem is that it isn’t quite so tidy because you may have a flurry of activity all at once and then have a long dry spell which is what we seem to have been experiencing, but the averages still hold. That’s an interesting thing to realize. Of course, I expect our hosting rate to go up dramatically as we continue through this course! So, take a look at how many presentations you have done and see if the 80/20 rule holds true for you, too. BTW, we’ve been with this company for four years next week and it’s been a long struggle (yes, we’ve made money). I’ve been with at least 10 other network marketing/direct sales companies over the years and I’ve never seen anything like this and have never made the kind of money we have made with this company. So, why has it been so hard to get past those initial calls? You would think I would be totally excited to share such a concept and once I get an appointment set, I’m good to go. I love everything about it except those initial phone calls and I really think it goes back to some old programming. I keep working on getting rid of it, but don’t seem to have succeeded quite yet. Actually, part of my CMI is that people will come to me and ask to get in! Well, I’ve got to get to bed as I have much to do tomorrow including a team meeting at our house tomorrow night. (That’s one of the fun parts of this business!) There was just something about your post that made me go exploring and I’m glad I did! I’ll be back after the meeting tomorrow night to finish reading that other thread. Godspeed, Betty "Don't work for money. Hi Betty and thanks for the post! The 80/20 rule hasn't been the case for me. I would have around 5 people on our team if so. However, the next 5 people I share this with might join so you never know! Let's keep in touch.

Absolutely, right, Brian! Sounds like you are due for a "growth spurt." Too bad the 80/20 rule isn't all nice and neat... and predictable! But, hey, we're both going to break that rule now, aren't we?
I'm anxious to see your progress! Godspeed, Betty "Don't work for money. Work for success and the money will chase you down!" - Dick Loehr, Founder of The National Companies http://www.bign.com/mbbolerjack |
