Hello all!

I've been popping in and out of the message boards for the past couple days as I progressed through the course lectures and labs, so I thought I would register and share a bit.

I've always believed in a higher source working in my life and have many examples of it. Things that I wanted always came to me so easily and people would comment to me that they admired my drive, they liked that I could decide on something and not stop until I got it. The only thing of it was, I never felt that I really "tried" to attain any of my desires. I merely asked, let go, and acted as if. I never consciously did those actions, however. They just came naturally.

Recently, (the past five years or so) it seems that I've lost my way and have been unable to gain any traction. I've struggled and lost any ground almost as soon as I gained it and I could not figure out what I was doing wrong!

Through all of this I've sought out knowledge and many teachers. Everyone from Buddha, to Pathwork; Tony Robbins to Bob Proctor... It was Bob Proctor's book You Were Born Rich that led me to SoGR and I am so thankful to have found it!

I tore through the book and got the audio which I would listen to as I read and play throughout the night as I slept. Everything resonated with me so well! THIS is what I know and what everyone has been saying but now I finally feel that I can comprehend.

I'm so thankful for the Practical Geniuses course. I've been working with it for two days and have just completed LL20. I know my heart's desire. I know exactly what I wish to achieve and the Gratitude lesson has shown me that all of my recent trials are what caused me to pinpoint it. And I realized I got off track due to boredom. Frustration. The "is that all there is?"

Now, I'm finally in a position to learn again to receive.

I am looking forward to completing the course and my (re)new(ed) way of looking at life!

Forever thankful!

Hello Anastasia,

Welcome to the PG course!

Although I fully understand that you are eager to go through the course asap, I would strongly suggest to relax and take the time for it.
As I have come to understand it, the course is in essence about awakening our awareness about the ideas behind the SOGR and the way we have been dealing with them in the past (e.g. lack, competition, worthiness, etc.).

Only recently I finally understood (and accepted) that the road to success is a gradual one. Progress is generally made in small, incremental steps and once you become aware of that and see the pattern of how one thing lead to another, the journey becomes increasingly exciting. Acknowledging the steps and being grateful for them are crucial elements.

As Rebecca often suggests, relax and take your time. Even if you only take one life lab per week, the whole course will merely take 7 months and you will get a much deeper understanding.

I wish you a successful and exciting journey and am looking forward to hearing about your successes.

Abundance to All (to quote Croz)!

Welcome, Anastasia. You're not really on LifeLab 20 after two days are you? If so, please stop now, because you're cheating yourself out of the best of this course.

Each LifeLab takes a day or two or more to complete. LifeLab 9 alone takes an entire week.

Rushing is the OLD way; it's competitive mind; it's belief in lack and scarcity, not abundance.

This course is so NOT about cramming information into your head. It is about taking the time -- giving yourself that GIFT -- to GO WITHIN. That is where all the answers are and that simply cannot be rushed.

Anyone who is rushing: Please reread the course "how-to's" and make the commitment to yourself to (as one of my own best teachers ALWAYS says) "follow the simple instructions."

Love & blessings, and, of course--
EXPECT Success!

Thanks for the tips, Rebecca. I appreciate it!

LifeLab 9 is a great one and I agree with it so much that it's something I've already done in my life for at least a decade. I never liked how I felt watching or reading news (and I've never been one who is big on doing thing that I don't like!), and found that most sources continually rehash the same depressing stories without offering any new perspective or positive information.

One thing LL9 did bring up for me is finding balance with the way I do get pertinent national news information. I usually hear about newsworthy items from talking to friends or acquaintances, then will seek out media outlets to find out more information. But there have been times that I've been completely oblivious to national tragedy due to my avoidance.

You offer several tools that I already use and have given me many wonderful ways to implementing ideas that I've tried but haven't worked well for me in the past. I loved the additional tips on keeping a Gratitude journal (which I already do!) and found the Master List absolutely divine.

I'm certainly not rushing through the course. I'm enjoying every minute of my progress with it and don't feel I've cheated myself one bit.

Again, Rebecca, thank you so much for taking the time to create such a wonderful resource. I know it took a lot of time for you to put together. I, of course, understand delving into it in the manner that I have is not ideal for most people and am in no way suggesting that!

I had a truly amazing day today that may have been challenging had I not progressed with the course in the way that I have.

I will, however, take your advice and slow down for a few days. I love where I am right now and am so thankful every moment for the way that I feel! LL11 as well as 17 - 19 are two that I'd love to spend more time with during my "break". Smile

Thanks so much for the warm welcome to the forum!

Anastasia

Hi On_My_Way!

Sorry, I've only just seen your response after replying to Rebecca's post.

I'm sorry you've got the impression that I'm not relaxed or taking my time. I am going at a pace that is natural for me and am in no way suggesting it is something that is right for you or anyone else! I apologize if that was somehow implied.

As I mentioned in my initial post, I've studied this type of work for years. The information is not new and has been presented for many years, by many teachers in many different ways. The LifeLabs have simply "clicked" for me and I wanted to express my gratitude. I was not seeking advice as I am not struggling with any of the labs or the information presented.

I do like what you say about patterns and how things come together. It's something I have always been aware of and it never ceases to amaze me! I'll provide you a few quick examples:

When I was 13 years old I decided I wanted to become legally emancipated from my mother. When I was 15 years old I moved out and at 16 had my emancipation granted by the superior court.

At 20 years old I wanted to purchase a home and found one within my price range. My biggest concern was in furnishing the home as I was moving out of a cramped 1 bedroom apartment and into a 3 bedroom house. At one meeting the seller mentioned having an estate sale. I told him simply that I'd like first dibs on whatever items he was selling. The next time we met he approached me privately and offered the entire home's furnishings for $1,000.00. That's right. I purchased a fully furnished house by simply ASKING for it.

This last one is a really fun example! I had a friend visiting me in Hollywood from West Virginia. During her stay she mentioned an actor that she wanted to meet. The next day I saw there was an event going on that I had a feeling he might attend, I did some asking around and got us jobs working at the event. Maybe an hour after we arrived at the event, the celebrity she wanted to meet came walking towards where we were positioned. I gave him a bright smile as we made eye contact, he immediately approached me to give me a high-five and I grabbed my friend to introduce her. She was stunned, to say the least!

To sum it up, YES, I know things come together and I agree, it IS very exciting!

I do, however, have a quibble with the road to success being gradual and that may be where our belief systems differ! I view life as an on-going lesson and learning for me is certainly gradiated, but I experience immediate success in my life each and every single day! It's only been a matter of increasing my awareness of it.

I know my heart's desire. I know who I admire. Labs of that nature were not challenging for me, yet were fantastic exercises in having a kinesthetic exploration of my thoughts. NOW, I am more aware than ever before of all the opportunity I have always had to see my desires take form!

Thank you so much for taking time to reply!

BEST!

Anastasia

Excellent.

I do ask everyone upfront to be coachable Wink and to adopt a "willing learner's spirit." Letting go of what we think we already know is key. "Beginner's mind," I find, always pays off big-time. Big Grin

And here's something one of my teachers said to me years ago that I REALLY resisted at first, but now I've come to see how true it is: How you do anything is how you do everything.

That was a big "ouch" for me at first and now it's a gift.

Welcome to the forum Anastasia

i can sense your excitement in going through the course. I suppose you could take it as a collection of tools to accelerate your learning in the certain way. But, as I understand it, Rebecca didn't set up the course that way. To my mind, even a multi millionaire who is already successfully practicing SOGR can benefit by slowing down and exploring the inner and limitless potential within, through exploring each lesson as if they are doing it for the first time. A beginner's mind is absolutely essential to getting the most out of the course labs.

Just my humble opinion. It's great to have you here Wink

Blessings

This is fantastic. And very true! Unless, what you're suggesting is that working quickly also means I'm being cavalier in my progress. I assure you that is not the case!

I have always done everything quickly. It is just the way that I am. As a kid in school I excelled in the courses I enjoyed because I completed assignments days ahead of everyone else. In driver's ed class the first week I completed the entire course worth of reading and practice exams. After I turned in my work to the instructor she immediately passed me and gave me the paperwork to take to DMV so I could get my learner's permit.

I provided some other examples in my response to On_My_Way above.

Things happen fast for me or not at all. Maybe it's something I'll grow out of, but it's not looking likely. Smile

I don't tend to take my time with anything because that is what works for me. If I complete your Practical Geniuses course tomorrow or next week, it will because I am doing it at a pace that works for me.

And so far, it has worked for me!

Here is just one example for you:

For the past 6 months or so I've been wanting to further develop a small blog that I have, but I am not well versed in graphic design or coding. But, I know someone who is and I've been wanting her to do the design for me. I inquired about her rates but haven't had the money to pay for her work.

Last night I ended up going out with a friend to an event and the graphic designer was there! I hadn't seen her in months. She walked right up to me and said, "You're a massage therapist, right? I will design your blog for you in exchange for massages!"

Coincidence? I don't happen to believe in those!

Your course has helped me further solidify my ability to focus on the outcome and stop trying to control the creative process. Prior to that, trading services never would have occurred to me. Not only that, but the suggestion would have made me feel guilty in that I wouldn't have believe my service was of as much value as hers. Now I understand Increase and Advancing Thought. I know that my service has as much value to her as hers does for me!

Again, Rebecca, thank you for the course! I know things are only going to get better because it is what I expect.

Hi Kevsky!

Thank you so much for contributing your thoughts.

I understand the course wasn't set up in the way that I've progressed with it, but I tend to trust my instinct about things. I was drawn to go forward faster, so that's what I've done.

SOGR is something that I still read or listen to every single day. I always learn something new and deepen my understanding of it. The course work has helped me further clarify things that were only theory by giving me practical ways to implement the tools provided.

My belief is all things happen for a reason. The day I posted here saying I would heed Rebecca's advice and take a break I got a call from a client that I also do some assistant work for on occasion. He'd just gotten back from a business trip and had a lot of work to catch up on, so I ended up being P.A. for 24 straight hours! Even if I didn't want to stop the course I had no choice.

My P.A. assignment, in this instance, involved accompanying him to a couple of events where I made several useful contacts. One was with an event producer who is doing a convention this summer. I told him about my work and he said since the event is new he wants to set me up with a free booth! If you've ever attended a convention, booth space is expensive. He called today to talk to my client and after they finished their business, we confirmed details on my business.

I also had the opportunity to discuss my blog that I've been working on with someone who runs a successful website / blog. He gave me his card and said if I need help with anything, he is familiar with the blogging platform I use and can help me. If he can't help he said he'll refer me to several colleagues who can.

One of my friends who is a very talented and successful writer that I've been wanting to work with for ages met with me for a drink. We were just burning off steam but through the course of the conversation we came up with a great idea and fleshed out an outline.

Coincidence?

I am no longer working from a place of scare-city or lack. All the help and resources I've ever needed have always been there. I just needed to step out of the way and stop worrying about money!

I love that the LL20 was the last one I completed on Preparing to Receive and the next one is on Taking Action.

It's been offered and I'm so thankful! I'm ready to receive and now have some very specific items to proceed with LL21 with.

That took 6 months so like all of us it takes time, I took the time to read all the posts and came to the conclusion that the ego seems to be playing a part, I dont mean to be saying this is a negative way, we all need our ego's, I am wondering if you can work at such a fast pace reading and doing etc, you might be being a bit hard on yourself and other people, I am wondering if your friend and family have trouble keeping up with you.

I wish you all the best and if it works for you the way you go about it, the more power to you.

In fact I rushed into it too but after Rebecca told me to be teachable, that hit home for me as I too always rushed into stuff, now I take my time and enjoy everything so much more, even though I enjoyed everything before, or so I thought I did until I slowed down and started to listen, re learn, re think and relax,

I learnt naturopathy and my pathology teacher told the class if you are too busy, which is a silent stressor, you dont relax and if not relaxed you dont learn, or take information in or remember it as well as if you were relaxed in a learning environment, SOGR is a learning environment, Coming here is like a relaxing learning environment, and it deserves proper attention and as Mr Wattles says "The answer to prayer is not according to your faith while you are talking, but according to your faith while you are working"

Because all things have contributed to my advancment, I include all things in my gratitude.

Hi kiwikaren! Thanks for posting. Smile

I want to start off by saying what drew me to the community here and make my first post was that I've been enjoying my progress with the course and wanted to join in and share my success and express gratitude. I find it interesting that no one has made comments towards that, but instead everyone has a quibble with the fact that I went "too fast" for their taste.

I didn't do 20 Lifelabs in two days as some sort of endurance challenge, nor was I challenging anyone else to do it that was. I was simply drawn to do them that way because I found it useful, I enjoyed it and it felt good!

As far as the graphic designer appearing out of the blue and offering to trade services with me... from my point of view, that didn't happen over the course of six months, it happened instantaneously! What took six months, in my opinion, was the shift in MY perception of HOW I could get what I wanted. Once I was ready for it, it appeared immediately. That is my belief based on my experience.

I'm not egotistical in the least and I apologize if my manner of sharing came off as that. In fact, lack of confidence and low self-esteem have held me back from doing many things I've wanted to do in life. I don't put demands on my friends and family, although, when I come across information that I feel may be of use to them, based on what I know about them, then I share it.

I recently turned one of my friends on to SOGR and she thanked me for it. Said it was just what she needed to hear, just when she needed to hear it.

However, I shared a book by Bob Proctor with another friend and she said she had a hard time with it. I told her not to bother with it if it didn't resonate with her as I only shared it because I thought it would be useful, not because I wanted her to feel obligated to read it. I'd read Think and Grow Rich years ago and it made little sense to me, but reading it again a few years ago lights went off -- because I was at that point ready to understand the information. Reading it again today, I understand even more.

The same with SOGR and the Practical Geniuses course. I was ready for it! It was information I could use right when I could use it!

I can also relate to your experience learning naturopathy. I've been a massage therapist for years and have trained at several schools. My knowledge deepened to a whole new level after taking a one month 150 hour "Intensive" massage practitioner course a few years ago. I went to class Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m, for one month. My practice took off after that as my skill level and confidence had improved.

This, in my experience, is not much different than that.

Thanks again to Rebecca for creating the course and thanks to everyone who has contributed their thoughts.

I wish everyone the best in their progress. Based on my experience here thus far, I think the best thing for me to do in terms of my progress, is to take a break from this forum! Perhaps I'll check in again after I've completed the course. Cool

Thanks for the reply please do keep adding to the forum as everyone here has something valuable to add, that's why we are here and also how we ended up here, and its how we read the LLabs and our angle of understanding to get what we need or question from the posts that helps us all.

It is the reading between the lines so to speak, or the way we communicate on paper and is there for others to pick up on to either help or learn if needed.

I love your success story and I believe by being here your confidence and self esteem will strengthen,

You are very good at articulating your self the more power to you, you have obviously learnt alot before you arrived here. I understand that.

I come and go all the time here and when I come back it is like good food.

I totally believe you when you say

"The same with SOGR and the Practical Geniuses course. I was ready for it! It was information I could use right when I could use it!

I have explored many other books and systems but this is the best of the best and with that I wish you the best and look forward to hearing more of your sucess.

Because all things have contributed to my advancment, I include all things in my gratitude.

Anastasia! What a breath of fresh air you are! As soon as I started reading your post, I was impressed with what you said and how you said it.
Every one of us learns at our own pace and in our own way. This course is like any other lesson in life. Some of us have had a long haul of it, while others understand and get it immediately. For others, it is just a refresher course of what they mostly already know and lived. I get the feeling that for you, that the latter is true.
As I read each entry and your reply’s I admired your obvious enthusiasm and spunk. Your enthusiasm for life is inspirational and I do hope that you continue to grace us with your progressions. I for one am your fan. Thank you for lightening my load this evening.

Have you hugged your CMI today?

"How you do anything is how you do everything."

Ouch is right! That statement does not allow me to hide. It does not allow me to concoct excuses for so-called one-time transgressions in discipline. How I do anything is how I do everything. That is really heavy duty. Succint and to the point. A good "pocket philosophy" to carry around to remind me of my higher purpose.

I always learn in SOGR forums. Thanks to all.
