Okay, maybe I'm making this too complicated and what Mr. Wattles offers the realistic steps one adheres to when they make their living in sales, or, as I suspect, there is something hidden in the message that I have not, as yet been able to decipher.
I don't consider myself 'dense', but I'm wondering about other interpretations; i.e., 'Do things in a certain way......', "So that if we can isolate that certain way and do it ourselves....'! What certain thing???

This is just my own approach to it.... I've been programming for the past few years and have made a decent living, but my heart hasn't really been in it. One day I just said to myself, "Self, if you had all the money you'd ever need, what would you do with your time?" After covering the scuba diving, skydiving, world travel and general frolicking, the answer "teach Alexander Technique" came to me. I just absolutely adore it and were I to win the lottery tomorrow, I would still teach. So after being certified to teach for almost 10 years, I'm finally going for it in a full-time kinda way!

So that's the method that worked for me. One of my favorite metaphysical teachers says (to paraphrase), "Leave money out of the equation and do what you love, and the money will come." That being because when you are happy you are a vibrational match to everything you consider to be well-being, therefore a match to abundance/prosperity!

Paid $200. for recycled Zen.

No really, it was a great experience.
Now that I am aware that I uunderstand IT! I must acknowledge the next problem, the right business
I am over 50, have been in and been very succesful at sales, now I look at a phone and want to be anywhere but there. Still like the freedom of sales and controlling my own time, guess I might just be in the situation of finding the right 'vehicle' that I can believe in and promote. Anybody have any insight into a positive
action to get me back on track? My thinking is clearer and more positive than ever, my belief is strong, I'm just at that step where '..if you are in the wrong business, you will find the right one..'.
Any attentions and considerations will be greatly appreciated and warmly accepted.

The certain way is thinking, and acting in a way that will bring abundance to you. It starts with the way you think and then you have to take efficient action - that means, holding to your thoughts with steadfast faith, do what you can each day, no more no less etc... you'll have to read over and over Wattles book and as you go through the life labs, it'll become more clear to you the internal changes you need to make before you see outer changes.

Wattles is just stating that those who are rich and always have abundance see things in a positive way with gratitude and that we too can have this perspective so that abundance flows to us. The certain way is having absolute faith in the formless which brings us whatever we want - that's the 'thing'!

Hey Bobbie!
No you are not dense.....you're just getting ahead of yourself... Right now we are learning how to THINK....some foundational truths. Such as: a thought in the substance produces the thing that is imagined by the thought, abundance is all there is ....etc etc etc. What I think you are asking is: " ok...how... what do I do, what job do I get, what business should I be in, etc etc?
If Im correct this is addressed in chapter 13 (also 12,14,15).
However its safe to say that " there is no hurry on the creative plane, and there is no lack of opportunity."

If Im wrong about interpeting your question I sincerely apologize.
