my LL12 feels flat!

Hieveryone,

I just completed LL12, and I have to say it didn't make me feel better about being here or what my purpose is.

Maybe I approached it in the wrong way. I chose people who are doing what I always wanted to do (a burning desire), but I didn't put that I admired them for what profession they were in. I had more altruistic qualities on my list for these people, like 'integrity, intelligence, energy, drive, focus, class & style, belief in God' (I find the energy one curious as I have had symptoms of chronic fatigue for the past few years. Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a low energy person!)

So when I looked at MY purpose, it would appear that it is simply to be/have these qualities. I already know I want to live my life with integrity and have energy etc. Doesn't everyone?

I thought I'd get a peak at what I am supposed to DO.

I can see now why we weren't allowed to move ahead in the exercise because I find myself wanting to go back and change my responses.

Right at this minute I feel rather 'flat' and boring!

Thanks for listening,

Always riching,
Marilyn

Marilyn, you didn't approach the listing of people in a "wrong" way. Those are exactly the kinds of qualities this experiment asks you to list -- BEING, not doing. Purpose actually has nothing to do with "profession" or occupation. You are EXPRESSING your purpose in everything you do, not just your work or income-producing activities.

But it does sound a bit like you ended up feeling you SHOULD have something different from what you are. Thing is, there are no "shoulds." When we think there are, we end up in competitive mind judging ourselves harshly for failing to measure up to them.

As for what you should be DOING, most of us are in such a rush to get to that that we pay too little attention to the BEING part. But if you spend some time just sitting with that discomfort it becomes pretty clear that we've been doing and doing and doing forever now and not getting where we want.

That's a clue! You could look at it like this: When you feel like you're in a deep hole and everything you do just digs you in deeper, what's the first thing you need to DO?

For me anyway, I'd say STOP DIGGING. In other words, a lot of the time there's nothing we need to do just yet. First we need to STOP doing for a while.

Another image that may be useful: If you've dropped something in the water and you're trying to find it, frantic activity will just stir up the silt and mud and make it impossible to see. You have to be still and let the water settle and clear.

I suggest you sit with those qualities you wrote down and meditate on/ponder them a bit.

(And the answer to your question, doesn't everyone want to live her/his life with integrity? Look around! What do you really think the answer to that question is? At present, I'd say, no, there are plenty of people who don't feel that way. I do believe that desire IS inside them, but they haven't ever gone within and let themselves become still enough to find that out.)

We'll get to the "doing" part soon enough. But without the "being" as foundation, the doing will just keep getting us more of what we've already got up 'til now.

Many blessings, and, of course--
EXPECT Success!

Hello Marilyn,

thank you for what you posted here. Now just a little idea I spontaneously had when reading what you wrote below:
>I had more altruistic qualities on my list for these people, like 'integrity, intelligence, energy, drive, focus, class & style, belief in God' (I find the energy one curious as I have had symptoms of chronic fatigue for the past few years. Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a low energy person!)>

If you see and admire the "energy" in others it can only mean you do have at least the same energy in you.
So my question is: how did you work in the past time to hide it or maybe you were spending it working hard on something else which could be hiding your energy...
Just an idea, maybe it has been you well in the past?

Whatever this was look at it with curiosity and let it teach you something that will bring up your true energy into shine for the energy we have is infinite when we let the Source work for us, for our dreams and heal our souls and bodies as well.
Whenever you think you need energy be sure to ask for it and it will be there for you to feel and experience. Energy is FLOW in the BEING just BEING yourself, BEING with all what is BEING around you...
Say convincingly to yourself:
I am ENERGY
I am ENERGY
I am ENERGY

Think of times you really felt energetic and embrace them now then spread them all over in your life, in every corner and thought and belief...

A lots of energy and peace,

Karima

I am thoroughly enjoying Life Lab 12. I have come up with a list of qualities that are so-oo very NOT me...but that I admire in others. I suspect I am in for quite a journey outside of my comfort zone.
Another interesting note - people who do not have these qualities, or who exhibit qualities the opposite of the ones on my list, are the people who can annoy me, or irritate me the most...Go figure. (It's good to look in the mirror from time to time.)

I'm so grateful to you for the reminder about the "shoulds" -- those haven't worked before and I'm sure I'm accurate is saying that they won't work in this lesson/awakening either !
Also, thank you for jogging my memory regarding the fact that I am expressing my Purpose in EVERYTHING I do -- I am not these separate little packages in separate little areas of life. I am a BEING who IS expressing my Purpose in everything I do. (Gosh, that feels good to say that ! ! !)............With Much Appreciation and
Gratitude AND Loving thoughts for your Joy and Success......................dd
