Hello All,
I started my day out getting tempted to bog down in bad feelings... I've been focusing very intently on my CMI for the past month and was disappointed by news this morning. The news seemed to shatter my CMI and I felt like it would never happen. I began to get flooded with old negative thoughts... they seemed so true... and were so loud! But I was at least grateful that some of Mr. Wattles' words were filtering through my head also and they began to get louder for me. I felt like I was drowning, but Mr. Wattles' words were like a lifesaver being thrown out to me. I even remembered some of my screensavers <smile>. I decided to run to my computer and read whatever I could find on The Science of Getting Rich forum here... and I was so thankful for Rebecca having the most encouraging words I needed to hear. She was responding to someone else's post where they described their struggle in "managing some of the other 40-50 thousand thoughts that become a part of my day on a daily basis." I can totally relate about the thousands of thoughts that pop in, and especially the negative ones... But Rebecca's response was wonderful. She said, "The great thing is that you don't have to manage them. Just be aware of them and don't believe everything you think. Most of them just flash on by anyway. It's the ones you latch onto that simply need to be questioned, and when you question them and see that they're just thoughts and not YOU, then they let go of you." Thank you SO much Rebecca for those words! I felt like I'd failed this morning when I got bombarded with negativity. I was feeling like maybe I don't 'have what it takes to be rich' because I had these negative thoughts. I even thought I wasn't capable of manifesting my CMI because of this. But Rebecca's words helped me see that negative thoughts happen - I just have to be prepared to let them flash by and not 'latch on to them'. I let them go this morning...so for that I'm thankful and that's some progress for me. Thanks to All Who Share Here... Sincerely, Devra |

Hi Devra, It seems to me that you have made HUGE not "some" PROGRESS. Negative thoughts for many people are simply an unquestioning way of life and they have no awareness either that they are happening or that another way of thinking is possible. You have that awareness and used it this morning to take action. Brilliant!! The news you received may simply be like the man (in chapter 16) who worked so hard on a business deal that inexplicably fell through but who remained grateful and kept the faith until something so much better came through not much later. You are a Mighty Manifester and I salute you. Mozz (Inveterate brightsider) |

Hi Devra,
As Mozz I like that story about the man in Chapter 16. A phrase that I like to use in creating my CMI's is "This or Something Better". And I have found that when something falls apart something better appears! Interestingly that something better normally wouldn't have happened if what appeared to be a failure hadn't happened! Be good to yourself, live life passionately and always, always expect success!! I don't know how long I will live, but I'll live until I die!! Tom Strong |

Thank you Tom... and this morning was more of me just not getting my CMI in the timing that I would've liked. It's still possible, but I wanted it to happen sooner and when I received word that I would have to continue to wait for it to manifest, I became very negative and discouraged.
Yet, I've been hearing others here in the forum remind me that sometimes things are 'darkest just before the dawn' and often many people will give up on their dream just as it is about to happen. I guess this is where the real failure happens. Lately I came across the story of a struggling actress in Hollywood (Peg Entwhistle) who in 1932 committed suicide by jumping off the "H" in the Hollywood sign that sits on the hills here. Her career had been up and down for a while and finally when things seemed at their worst she chose to end her life. But the amazing irony is that just two days after this, her Uncle (whom she had lived with) was sifting through the afternoon mail and discovered a letter that had been mailed to Peg the day before she jumped to her death. The letter was from the Beverly Hills Playhouse and it had been written to offer Peg the lead role in their next production... I thought of this story 2 days ago as I was hiking in the Hollywood hills and caught a glimpse of the sign. This morning this story came back to my mind just as I was struggling with my own negativity. It's good to have reminders show up in such perfect timing! ~ Devra |

Here I am!!! Now, I am pretty sure things are going to show up for you. I couldn't resist. Devra, it takes many years of letting our minds wander aimlessly and get the best of us in a negative way. Though I am not opposed to the idea that it can change in an instant--a cosmic AHA--most of us have to figure out how to notice, erase, and replace. You've done a very important part. You are noticing. Now begin to erase them and replace them with better things. You can! |
