WHO WANTS TO DANCE? Success and "The Art of Giving"

"The universe operates through dynamic exchange...giving and receiving are different aspects of the flow of energy in the universe.

And in our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives."

The SEVEN SPIRITUAL LAWS of SUCCESS
-Deepak Chopra

I believe that the greatest joy on Earth is known when I continuously practice the Art of Giving!

In my experience, there's no greater gift than the inner joy experienced when something given to another person results in increased life or expression.

As I give freely and unconditionally, life brings a return cycle that is multiplied many fold.

An example of this is evidenced by any mother who, after nine months of nurturing and unconditional giving, delivers a healthy baby girl or boy. I think most mothers would agree that the joy of that new life is unmatched by any other event or occurrence in their lives.

Of course, many other factors influence the outcome. Time, circumstance and the environment all play some part in determining the final result.

Let's suppose for a moment, that we each have some awareness of "why" we must be willing to give something of ourselves first….

What if I couple the knowledge of “WHY” I give first with a healthy dose of determination, perseverance and commitment?

In other words, I APPLY GIVING TO ALL ASPECTS OF MY LIFE? I now give 100% of my best efforts to everything and everyone. My giving is unconditional (I don't expect anything in return), and I do this again -- and again -- without regard for results.

At the same time, I trust the Larger Universe is bringing an increase of life to me. Would I not be aligning myself with the Universal Laws of Abundance & Prosperity?

If I were a farmer planting a field of corn, would it not work exactly the same way? Would I expect the same law to work if I didn't till and enrich the soil? What if I didn't water the new seedlings? Doesn't life provide expansion and increase on every level?

Then WHY would I not invest myself 100%, trusting that the Law of Increase works as surely as the Law of Gravity or any of the other Universal Laws?

By giving each task my best effort and treating every person as worthy and valuable, might my internal atmosphere begin to reflect outwardly, the peace, joy and abundance that I am feeling from within?

Might it even look something like the flushed face of that new mother I spoke of earlier?

Have you ever had such an experience? Just one moment, when everything in life seemed perfect? One moment when your level of excitement soared, and nothing could take away the feeling of pure joy bursting inside of you?

That's where I want to be in every moment! That's what I want to strive for and stay focused on!

Wouldn’t it be great if, somehow, each of us could create an INVITATION FOR JUST ONE CHILD to have that experience? Could that initial experience be further reinforced with genuine love...providing something for that child that cannot be bought or acquired in any other way?

Could WE (each one and collectively) make a difference? Could WE ignite the SPARK of passion in one child? What if I did it twice...or five times over the course of a lifetime?

Could that, in turn, BE PAID FORWARD (given to someone else by the one who received the gift of love and inspiration)?

I believe ALL children need to know, on some level, that they are already perfect and that they don't need to BECOME anything. They just need to BE.

Based on my own life experiences, I'm absolutely convinced such a core of self belief… coupled with a giving attitude…and trust of the Universal Law is all that is required to live a peaceful, joyous and abundant life.

From that place, any of the remaining puzzle pieces (i.e. job, mission, and purpose), lock easily into place and there is a true experience of harmony and well being.

Only ACTIONS in my day to day living prove out my ability to give consistently -- to invite others to participate in this wonderful Dance of Life.

Each of us can do this...if we so choose.

However, that life long journey begins anew in each and every moment -- as I share my gifts with others I, in turn, receive love -- and this, I believe, is a joy worth repeating.

Hi Jerry

I think we could probably sing as well as dance.

The Greatest Love of all.

I believe the children are our are future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfill my needs
A lonely place to be
So I learned to depend on me

CHORUS
I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I'll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of al
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all

I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be

CHORUS

And if by chance, that special place
That you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love

Hi Jerry - Thank you for taking the time to share this. It is just the gentle reminder I've been needing to hear. Bless you.

Holly - I have always loved that song. I felt goosebumps as I sang my way through the words. Smile

A refreshing post indeed. Why is it that we tend to lose the child inside of us just because we grow older. Because we grow older we should focus more on the child within. We should be learning from the children rather than the other way around. Thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks and Peace
Trev

Hi,

Interesting post. Could you please give suggestions on how to practice giving? I'm sort of at a loss on how to get started.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim, Thanks for your response! You can start anytime and in any place. Just give away your personal gift (something you've acquired that is special). In your case, I suspect that gift might be music or playing the piano. Or, perhaps just a smile to a stranger when it's not expected. Or, helping an old or disabled person cross the street. Try it...and take note of how you feel afterward.

I think you will find you are giving nearly all day long. When your hands are dirty do you 'give' them a wash? When you are asked a question do you 'give' them a reply?

This might sound trivial but I believe sometimes we overlook all the small things in search of something more out of the usual(at least I know I do).

In truth there is only one form of giving and that is to pay full attention to what or whoever is in front of you,

Here's to giving...

Jerry,

Thanks for starting this thread, and thanks to all who gave such nice responses. I agree, giving is something that we do everyday and when I started to make a conscious effort to give daily I notice an instant feeling of happiness and gratitude each time, whether it is advice, a smile, food, etc. It really is a great thing to be aware of and participate in daily.

Hi Jim,

My favorite thing to give is compliments.

To my grocery checker - "I love your name!"

To another shopper - "What a pretty dress, the color looks great on you."

To my gas station attendant - "Nice shirt!"

To my daughter - "Thank you for cleaning up the kitchen, it looks great!" Oh, and I give guidance, too. LOL - "You missed a spot on the counter over there."

I give her permission, too, when appropriate.

I give information on alternative cancer treatments for my dear friend Robert.

I give when I fix them dinner.

Or a word of encouragement.

Or loaning a tool to my neighbor.

Or sharing a link with y'all here.

The list could go on and on and on.

Wow! I never realized how generous I am!! LOL

<<I'm so thankful for the ability to give. Thank you, Formless!>>

Expect success!

I, KOnDuit

Hi Holly, Tanya, Trev and others,

Thank you all for your great words. Let's keep singing, dancing and playing. And let's keep the child inside alive. THE GREATEST LOVE OF ALL IS INSIDE OF ME. That love yearns to be expressed by each one of us.

If you haven't already seen it, click onto "Here's to T-Bone steaks, yellow roses, and friendship."

    Thanks you guys!

Peace, Joy and Prosperity To All,
