Wowie Zowie! All these emotions flying, buttons getting pushed in the many threads about "The Secret" and its promoters.
The treasure is what we can learn about ourselves by noticing what we react to. What are those beliefs we're still holding on to, and things we need to be right about that may be interfering with moving easily and joyfully toward the fulfillment of our desires? For example, how do you feel when you judge or defend others -- happy and free, or constricted? Are you better than someone else because you think or act as you do? (And how much harmony do you feel with the supreme when you separate yourself into "us and them?") Can you really know what someone else's intentions were when you view their words and actions through your own lens? What assumptions do you jump to about something you have not yet seen? What's been written about SSOGR reminds me of a quote I love:
Is it okay with you if people take advantage of opportunity and make lots of money quickly? Or does that automatically mean they are greedy, taking "unfair" advantage of others, and only out to line their own pockets? Would it be okay with you if you seized an opportunity and made lots of money quickly? Is it okay with you that people want to be rich and are motivated by opportunities for wealth? (Do you disagree with Wally's intention, as stated in the very first line in the preface to SOGR -- to create a pragmatical, practical manual ... "for people whose most pressing need is for money, who wish to get rich first, and philosophize afterward.") Is there only one way that is "right" to teach SOGR? (No benefit in variety?) Do you really believe that money can't be made overnight? Or does a person have to struggle, suffer, be patient, go gradually? Is it holier to charge less for something of great value? Where in Wally's teachings does he say that you should aim to charge the lowest possible price for your services and products? If Rebecca offers people the opportunity to set their own tuition, does that mean she is offering you a less expensive course? That she thinks the material is only worth what you are willing to pay and that if others charge more, they are ripping you off? What if what she is doing is challenging you to determine what YOU AND YOUR DREAMS are worth? (Setting your tuition is PART of the course!) And what if Proctor et al are TELLING you that YOU ARE WORTH $2000? Different lessons for different moments in a person's experience, perhaps. Do you believe that the creativity of the universe is finite, and that a new course about SOGR could not possibly have anything to add to what's already been created? (In other words, do you disagree with Wally that expansion is the nature of the universe?) Do you think the pursuit of happiness is somehow "better" or "higher" than the pursuit of money? Is it really any DIFFERENT? Is it possible that MANY people have things to contribute to the world that ADD to the message of SOGR, and that NONE of it detracts from your or my unique contribution? Could I be okay with not being viewed as an "expert" on Wally, or LoA even though I've spent the last four years focused almost exclusively on learning and teaching this subject. Would it be okay with me if a "newbie" has insights that are more valuable to others than mine?? ;-) Hooray for the opportunity to look within at the buttons I still have. (You too?) Ah! Something to relax and let go of so I can float merrily on down to a greater experience of what I love. Dr. Alexandra Gayek,
I am agreeing with you. As more courses come in the market, more we can choose from according to our choice. We have every right to accept or reject. Even we have the right to criticize. But if we lose our sight to the truth of more life to all and focus on the competition, all of our comments become harmful for others and for us. I am happy by seeing the experts of different areas acknowledging the truth of SOGR. And through them we are getting lots of proofs of SOGR truth. All of them are expending the understanding for us. Thank you for your post. Tapash “I follow the songs of my heart” |

Hi Dr.
I feel sorry for you if you are endorsing the actions of these people. Why don't you just come out and give it an endorsement and then you could get the huge commissions offered, or are you already an affiliate. Re negative energy, I have never felt more positive about anything, THIS IS WRONG.I suppose it is like Jesus in the Temple, it was not the correct way to act. But boy did he feel a whole lot better when he had done it. How ever you decide to wrap this up, these men have used the success of the Secret and the book SOGR, to formulate a very debatable MLM scheme. It is funny how many of the original cast have distanced themselves from this. The people at the Secret production company are going to great lengths to let people know that they are not involved. Even dear Oprah threatened legal action because of her inferred association with it. Now there is someone who is not against earning a pretty penny. Ask any one you know who has purchased this "product" to tell you their marketing strategy. You will not find many who are saying "Hey how about giving me $2000 for a copy of SOGR and some cd's and a briefcase." I think it would be more along the lines of " Hey if you buy this package for $2000, every person you can sell it to gives you a commission of $500 and you also get a kickback from who they sell it to as well" So what is the product? The extra knowledge it supposedly contains, or the right to onsell it and earn a commission. I personally have no problem with people obtaining vast wealth at fast or slow speeds, that is why most people visit this forum, hoping to glean some insight into how to do that. If your post is an attempt to defuse this discussion, I can offer you some advice. Just endorse the product, and tell us what it contains that is so earth shatteringly different to what is available elsewhere. If you are not prpared to endorse it or distance yourself from it, what is the purpose of your post. Could it be to justify peoples involvement in it. Once again are you an affilliate? To my shame I was involved in a similar type of operation many years ago, we were selling a GET RICH QUICK scheme, that we all knew most people would not get any money from. All we were interested in was getting them to sign up. Sometimes we did not even mention the "supposed" product. The reason that people found it difficult to sell was that we were selling the right to onsell NOT a product. Everyone trying to justify this, is inferring that there is something magic in the package. What I have read is really very basic and quite amatureish. I think that the best way to defuse this debate is for us all to stop trying to argue it one way or the other. Shannon my apologies. I have not really broken my pledge, I am just answering a post. And by the way Dr. we can all find sections of the written word to do our bidding, if we take it out of context. You must be joking if you think that Wally would have codoned this. Talk about competitive plane, I have never seen or heard such scramble to get hold of money. How clever he was. The ones who created this will get lots of money and the competitive ones trying to sell it will find Wallys words to be true. Abundance to All Croz |

It's a sad day when I receive an email from one of the men involved with this scheme. And what does he propose? That I pay for listening to the recording of a phone in. I was shocked and flabbergasted!
I have never had anyone ask me to pay for a recording of a phone in before. Pure greed. As much as I hate to say it, I've lost all respect for this individual. Blessings, Clairetta Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27 b |

Why is energy being dispensed into the direction of the Secret? It is better served being dispensed right here in SOGR. If there is a need to discuss other areas then we need not limit these discussions to one vehicle we can open the door to include many many others who offer insight to a better life. There is no limit

Dear Croz,
I believe you missed my point. I am not endorsing this SSOGR product. I don't know anything about it as I, like you, have no basis for evaluating it. I have not seen or heard the content. Unlike you, I was not even aware of what the package includes. I was only peripherally aware of the marketing approach they are using, mostly because you have described it. I agree with you that the preferred approach to promoting and selling things is to give more in use value than one takes in cash value, and that when people use only the potential financial gain as a reason to endorse something they can lose sight of the value question. The fact that people have been invited to be affiliates of SSOGR before having a chance to try out the product for themselves obviously creates the potential for this situation, though I gather that some of those affiliates have prior experience with other products created by these same people. I'm not an affiliate of SSOGR, The Secret, or anything else produced by any of the people involved, so I have nothing to gain if people buy it or not or think it's great or terrible. The intent of my post was not to argue about this particular product or marketing program. I was only using it as an example. My purpose was to invite everyone to look at what it is we are doing and believing as we each react to the controversy, and how our thoughts and beliefs serve or don't serve us. I wasn't intending to "take sides" at all, and wasn't attempting to demonstrate that Wally would have held a particular position about this specific program. I apologize for unintentionally adding fuel to the fire. Obviously I have not been successful at inviting a different perspective in the discussion of controversy, and invite Rebecca to remove this thread I started. My apologies to you Croz, for poking a sore spot. I love you. I appreciate you. I'm sorry. Thank you. Hi Dr.
Your comments are noted and I must say that my approach to all this, is that it sullies the name of SOGR, when things start to go wrong. You have no need to apologise, as any thoughts that you had were valid. Having seen the harm this type of scheme can cause, I just feel the need to try and explain it. I am now making a total pledge to not keep fuelling the debate on this forum. Thank you for taking my rather heated attack in good faith. I am actively thinking of a good thread to start so that we can ALL get on with things. Abundance to All Croz |

I believe that this scene in the Temple was meant to take place. If only to show us that some matters are important enough to validate anger and interference. Alexandra, I did enjoy reading your post. You made a very good case. Not as a promoter of The Secret, but to teach us how our own responses can teach us something about ourselves. FWIW, I have bought a course in which Proctor was one of the teachers and it was a good course. Except the fact that I can no longer use it today. Because acrobat came with a new version of the reader and I am unable to read the product which I bought and paid for. So my red flag warning is, how long will I be able to use this product before it stops playing the audio files? Last but not least, the price. It is a lot of money. And it will be higher with taxes and import charges slapped on top of it. It all adds up to an expensive and risky investment in my personal education. Do I want to be associated with a product that raises so many red flags and pushes so many buttons? It might be a good product. I won't know until I try it. But I do not want to endorse a product that most people can only afford, if they run their credit card debt up even higher than it already is. Caroline http://esuccessmentor.com/coaching.html |

I am grateful that we have a lot of caring people in this Forum to open our eyes to the different schemes out in the world.
However, I have been drained by reading the postings the last few weeks the Secret and then the new money level schemes of the Secret. There will be many schemes out there, and I know that whatever we do, we will not be able to stop it all. So the more focus we put on it debating it consistently, we are adding to the debate or controversy. If we can just let it go, the schemes will most likely go away and people will wake up. The universe will lead them to the right place for information such as this Forum if they are sincerely and truly looking for SOGR. If not, its also fine with were they are at. Its not for us to judge each other, but to give our opinion and more on. So if we can all get back to the postings (insights, positive, gratitude, lessons) that FUELS this site. BM |

Hi Alexandria
I really enjoyed your post - I had been reading all these controversies, composing heated responses in my head, then cooling down and realising that I had nothing to add to the discusssion. I was really interested in 'what' was pushing my buttons (mainly the jumping to conclusions with incomplete information...as I saw it!! I was also interested to notice how it affected my energy to read other's opinions about something I don't really care about!!! What is that all about?!
Quite so, and thank you for pointing to a fantastic area for learning for all of us. Love Donna.x |

Dr. Gayek, Your objective view of the situation is complimented, and at first, before investigation, my own ideological feelings were the same. However, after investigating the film itself and discovering their use of subliminal techniques to take advantage of the public, it is plain to me that the "outcry" is from the public defenders. The act of taking candy from a baby could also be considered taking advantage of opportunity, but very few mature adults will allow it. |

Boy am I glad I came back here. I wasn't going to read any more of this discussion, but, I, too, am apologizing to everyone for jumping to conclusions.
With the further discussion here, I see this in a whole new light, and I'm thankful. Blessings, Clairetta Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27 b |

Alexandra,
EXCELLENT! As usual, you are SPOT ON with your wisdom. I'll add this to my collection of posts from you, dear lady. "All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night…wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, to make it possible." T.E. Great reading and very thought provoking Alexandra. I think there has been far too much time spent trying to find out the motives behind the sellers of the SSOGR and not enough time spent focusing on ourselves and what value we have to give.
Croz, I look forward to reading your next post! Shannon Live as if you have faith and faith will be given to you. |
