Part of a security deposit I made on rental accommodation was not returned to me because (and I quote): "You knocked on my door and ruined my evening."

About 25% of the deposit was retained for this ridiculous reason! Roll Eyes

Big Grin

I tell you - it is giving me a really good laugh! So that makes me the winner. Wink

The guy really wanted a fight. Big Grin ...and I didn't give him one. I just said: "Fine, there's lots more where that came from and you must really be in rough shape financially to have to pull a stunt like that. I hope letting you keep it helps you as much as it does me to let it go!"

I mean really! It's such a ridiculous reason for withholding a security deposit. No it's not legal. But what's more important?

And it really was a small amount of money.

...and for the first time in my life, I said: "No problem, there's lots more where that came from!" Wink

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

Congratulations!

I had a commercial diaput recently where a client was not paying.

It is for a not insignificant sum, but I was ready to let it go - as they are clearly in rough shap financially!!

As it is they are sending a cheque after me show3ing a helpful understanding attitude rather that threats and contention...

That's great Dazzer! I haven't yet had a phone call telling me he's changed his mind, but one never knows.

As I said to him: There's lots more where that came from!

(The infinite source!)

It's not that I can't use the money, it's that to fight about it is such a waste of energy.

Or is it? I'm asking you - not necessarily you Dazzer - but everyone on this forum.

If like attracts like, when is the money worth a fight? Because isn't fighting over money attracting more fights over money?

Don't we want our money to come to us peacefully?

Well, here's an example from my life.

We had money owed to us that the person said she couldn't pay. This was December 2007.

I made sure I did forgiveness work and gave up expecting the money back from this particular person. I did expect God to pay it back to us though.

Well, we met with this person on a totally unrelated topic recently and she said that she remembers she still owes us some money, she will sort it out for us. And when she says she will pay something, she does.

For the past 3 years I have been in the midst of a lawsuit that my Dad started before he passed. I finally gave it to the Universe to sort out and that week she finally made an offer and we settled. The amount isn't important just the fact that with this settlement 'everyone' is a winner.

I did some editing work and never received payment. I was asked to give out my personal bank information. I do not do that, especially if I don't know the person and they live in another country.

After writing to this person three or four times (I don't remember exactly.) I just let it go. I figured she must need it more than I do.

I love your stand on knowing more came from where that 25% of a deposit does.

Blessings,
Clairetta

Hi ME,

I agree with you.
Fighting is a choice. And you don't have to choose it.

Same with non-money related issues.

One can prevent wars with this attitude.

Money needs to flow. Fighting doesn't make money go round.

greetings,

Anne T

My take on it is that any time that you"fight" for anything, it creates resistance, and more of the thing that you're fighting against.

Early on in the PG course, I did some forgiveness work around a mechanic who was supposed to have rebuilt our car engine after the piston broke. Turns out after my husband and I paid him a good sum of money ($1300.00) and after he kept our car for longer than two months that the engine was simply replaced with another old one. But we didn't realize this until 3 months after the fact.

Rather than going through the lengthy and exhausting process of taking him to small claims court, I decided to let it go, and sent him blessings. Besides, the car still runs okay,(and has for over 2 years now) and before the mechanic looked at it, it didn't run at all.

A few months later, I landed a commission from an online client for $2000.00!

Blessing or B.L.A.S.T.ing the "enemy" works wonders, and the blessings always come back. Smile

Dazzer, I love how your kind approach yielded such great results!

ME, that IS a funny story-even funnier that the guy wanted a fight and you didn't give him the satisfaction. Big Grin

Reading all your replies to my post has ME thinking!

I suddenly realized how liberating it is to say: "There's lots more where that came from" about EVERYTHING!

Opportunities especially can be looked at this way. Just let it go and let it flow and recognize when what appears to be an opportunity doesn't pan out: "There's lots more where that came from!"

The trick is to let go in the moment of the disappointment, and not even be disappointed. Just say: "Wow, if I thought THAT was for me and it isn't, then what IS for me must be really good, so I must aim higher!!!"

Well, I found this thread to be interesting and did laugh at the "There's more where that came from" That is a good thing to say in any circumstance..

I did have this thought though...where do lawyers fit into this consciousness that we are learning?

There are a lot of people - and businesses - at the moment who are thinking in scarcity and hanging onto money.

Our business creditors are finding every excuse not to pay their 3 months overdue account.

The invoice was raised by my joint venture partner which means that it is for him to decide how to handle the recovery, although I am liaising with him.

Thankfully it leaves me unfettered to be able to explore and develop other sources and opportunities.

As ME said. There is plenty more where that came from.
