I'm back from three days overseas, to find that a few items of technology have seemingly decided to become most un-cooperative at home.

Specifically, when I got back into my house last night, the main television in the house "refused to turn ON"; granted it worked fine up to the night before I flew out.

This afternoon, my desktop computer has also decided to stop operating, for reasons which I suppose the technician may reveal to me, but not before Monday afternoon.

To make a long story short, this would probably invoke a "less-than-pleasent" reaction in me, had I not decided a while back to continuously incorporate into my consciousness the collective wisdom of Messrs. Wattles, Troward, Allen, and others.

I have my laptop computer, with which I composed this message prior to posting it, so the technician can take his or her reasonable time on my desktop, and there's nothing on it that, if lost, can't be replaced.

I've dropped the television at my usual repair shop, and, considering its age, as well as a quick estimate of what it might take to fix it (if it can be fixed), I might opt to purchase an LCD television (a 32-inch screen will do just fine) - in fact, on the way home, I visited two stores to check models and prices. And, without meaning to boast or brag, I can go after both fixing the desktop and buying a new television at the same time, without any strain or stress - either on my finances or on me. If I insisted on it, I could have bought the new television this
afternoon, but I decided that Monday will do fine.

Going a bit further, and in accordance with my current mind-set, I can opt to fix the old television and sell it, or literally give it away - thereby setting in motion the operation of that which the gentleman from Toronto, Canada and/or Scottsdale, Arizona, calls: "The Vacuum Law of Prosperity".

I still have access to my personal development audio library via my MP3 player, which is of more use and value to me right now than a working television.

Regarding watching television, I generally only use it to watch DVD's, so I'm not missing anything vital right now - not even the World Cup; if I really want to watch the final, I'll find a way to watch it, and if I don't, I'll find out the result anyway. There is another television in the house, with its DVD player, so I have the option if I choose to use it over the weekend. As I might have mentioned before, I gave up cable over two years ago, but I'm only taking it back for the month of August when I have relatives, who are (politely speaking) still conditioned to watch a lot of television, visiting. Once they've left, the boxes go back - with thanks Cool .

So, once more, I find myself in full agreement with a statement used often by Mr. Wattles in "the third volume of his series", i.e., "The Science Of Being Great" .....

"BEHOLD - IT IS ALL VERY GOOD."

It's great that you were able to catch yourself right away and "go with it" and still feel good. I find that the the ability to do this is one of the greatest freedoms I have gained here.

I enjoy not having regular television immensely-it's going on 3 months without paying for cable TV. THere was only one funny cartoon (Family Guy) that I missed watching late at night now and then, and a friend loaned me several DVDs of the show "out of the blue" Wink -LOL.

If dealing happily with failed technology and machinery was the key to the sogr I would be financially independent right now.

Hello ITISWAYNE

I love the temper of your post - so relaxed! Sometimes things not working open up spaces for other things, or so I have found.

cheers
