I would say that, at least to be consistant with whatever illusion it is that we're all living, people have different responses (or "reactions") to toxins because people have different biochemistry. That would be why, I guess, some newborns (not much thinking there) develop allergies and others don't. It's rather hard for me to buy into the idea that "everything" is caused by our thinking. Those allergies, along with everything else, are caused, ultimately by the endless chain of cause and effect which began on or before the beginning of "time". Was the deadly poisonous CO2 (pollutant?)which made up the earth's atmosphere millions of years ago and prevented all possible emergence of life as we know it, caused by thought? Very possibly so, but not the thought of humans. And I believe that particular thinking being probably continues today to think and to "have an effect". Do our thoughts have effects? Thoughts, just like "pollutants" and everything else are both causes AND effects. Does how we think effect the way we eat? Yes. In turn, the way we eat effects how we think. Somwhere in there, I'm hoping there's room for a little free will.

Well, why not? Why not ask the question -- what is a healthy food choice? Maybe health isn't what you think it is? The bigger the lie, the more people will believe it. |

Wow, not since Tami was giving away money has my brain hurt so much about a concept! I'll be rereading this thread for a while.
Aren't the pollutants themselves caused by thoughts? I have to confess that it is really really hard to wrap my head around the idea that a little kid with cancer caused it with their thoughts. Help me here? Very interesting about the food/causes. The only think I do know is we aren't supposed to argue. Fascinating, as was the film clip. Does the Larry King show print transcripts? Well, that's fine, but as this is a forum for people who are choosing to follow the teachings of SOGR, what's the point of disagreeing HERE? Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Rebecca |

This is what is definitely in contradiction to SOGR and the Law of Attraction. And eating is ACTION. Thought always trumps action, and if your thought is heading you in the wrong direction, there's not enough action you could take in several lifetimes to counteract it.
And I would say that if you feel like crap, choosing to switch to appreciation (even better than gratitude) is the very BEST way to stop feeling like crap. SOGR shows us that the power of your thoughts and feelings is always the causative factor. Letting your thoughts be determined by anything in the world of form just gets you more of the same. Choosing where you put your focus, faith, and feeling can CHANGE that form. In his second book, The Science of Being Well, Wally tells us: "You must therefore eat with an eye single to the purpose of getting all the enjoyment you can from that meal. Dismiss everything else from your mind, and do not let anything take your attention from the food and its taste until your meal is finished. Be cheerfully confident, for if you follow these instructions you may KNOW that the food you eat is exactly the right food, and that it will “agree” with you to perfection. "Sit down to the table with confident cheerfulness, and take a moderate portion of the food. Take whatever thing looks most desirable to you. Do not select some food because you think it will be good for you — select that which will taste good to you. If you are to get well and stay well, you must drop the idea of doing things because they are good for your health, and do things because you want to do them. Select the food you want most, gratefully give thanks to God that you have learned how to eat it in such a way that digestion shall be perfect, and take a moderate mouthful of it ..." Food affects consciousness at a profound level --Isn't that what I've been saying all along?
I am simply saying that what you eat is more powerful than what you think. Because if you feel like crap, and you're trying to practice gratitude (the most important chapter in SOGR, in my opinion), it's kind of like pressing the gas and brake at the same time (spinning your wheels). I am not contradicting SOGR -- nor am I trying to.

Determines? Nope, consciousness (formless) is cause. Food and our bodies (form) are effect. Of course, anyone is free to believe otherwise. They just won't be following SOGR. Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Rebecca |

The only way to really know if there is a placebo effect is to perform an experiment with a control group. But I truly didn't know what to expect when I first ate cacao/goji berries. The feeling is very unique and specific. Food affects consciousness, more than you can even allow yourself to understand.

Do you get that it's your THOUGHTS about these particular foods that make the FEELINGS you experience? Expectation has so much to do with it (placebo and nocebo effects). Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Rebecca |

I know because I've experienced it. I can't really know otherwise unless I've experienced it. There are certain foods which are associated with prosperity and feeling blissful that taste good without side effects. And I'm not talking about Cheetos or Taco Bell. If our feeling state is the prerequisite for changing our external reality, then food is it. Everyone is eating something every single day. Food has a profound influence on our thoughts. But again, you can't really know unless you've experienced it. Don't take my word for it. Try eating a trail mix of goji berries and cacao nibs and you tell me how you feel. Food is experiential. That's what's so cool about it.

I LOVE this, I am going to print it out and reread it. Thanks Alison! BTW Neo, I find that if you love yourself and think loving thoughts about yourself, you make healthy food choices. I never even think about eating any other way. Yes Kevsky, Wally certainly was far ahead of his time. "Once I learned to herd cats, I realized that ANYTHING is possible..." It's our 'thoughts' of what we put in our bodies combined with our 'thoughts' of our bodies. This is a quote from Abrahams book 'The Astonishing Power of Emotions', I've been reading recently about weight and our thoughts, I had quite a laugh about it. page 62, example 2 "Consider this: If being slender matches the emotion of happiness... and you were to consistently eat ice cream while feeling happy... you would be a slender person who eats large quantities of ice cream. If your desire to be slender while you are currently not slender matches the emotion of discouragement... and you were to consistently eat ice cream while feeling discouraged... you would be a fat person who eats ice cream. If your desire to be slender while you are currently not slender matches the emotion of discouragement.... and you were to consistently use your willpower to keep yourself from eating ice cream... you would be a fat person who does not eat ice cream." I had quite the chuckle from this as I can so relate to those thoughts. |

thanks for sharing the link!
What jumped out for me was Dr Fred Wolf's quite interesting comment about the focus on controlling something actually results in quite the opposite. What he calls the indeterministic state eludes a person trying to grasp it. I think in simpler language Wally gets to the heart of it when he says that we are not to guide or supervise the creative process. Seems like Wally knew intuitively how our human minds work a hundred years before science finally caught up. Hi Ancient Soul,
I think it begins with awareness. Awareness is primary. "You are what you eat" comes before "You are what you think about." Most people don't eat food anymore. Most people eat carcinogenic chemicals. A friend of mine came to visit me yesterday and he asked me, "What do you think is the most powerful phrase in the world?" It's YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT!!!!! And he was like, "No no no, 'I love you' is more powerful." You can love a garbage heap, okay? But if our body is filled up with carcinogenic waste materials, all behaviors, attitudes, all creative productions and imaginations that come out of that will be inappropriately altered. There's no escaping it. It is the quantum fact, that we consist of the energies that we've ingested and passed through ourselves. And if those energies have been treated with greed, (fast food); if they've been treated with unconsciousnesses (grocery stores);if they've been treated with banking ( the farming today, massive petro-chemical farming), then there's no way that can construct the healthiest body ever and tap into our highest potential in consciousness. Right? I've found that correct nutrition is the flux capacitor to prosperity-bliss-consciousness. There's no more "trying" to be grateful anymore. Try is a lie. The bigger the lie, the more people will believe it. |

Hey Neo,
Good to see you back! Loved the video. I love what JZ Knight had to say, especially about cancer. I also disagree with Dr. Pert. Children are beautiful, intelligent, magnificent little beings. I sense that she may need to do some clearing in regards to her own past-methinks that her body is "holding on" to some old stuff, hence the bloating and the comment about children. And yes, I fully concur with Rebecca about pollutants being an effect, NOT a cause,it's ALL an inside job and we are each 100% responsible. Thanks for posting the link. You are what you eat is a much more powerful axiom than you are what you think about. But very few people pay attention to "you are what you eat", because it's way too obvious. We don't know who discovered water, but it probably wasn't a fish. I agree that all illness is linked to our thoughts and actions AND what we choose to put into our body. Garbage in, garbage out.
Pert's work is in health. And yet she looks totally fat and bloated and unhealthy. How can anybody take her seriously????? We gotta stop listening to people who aren't getting the results that we want. Seriously. The bigger the lie, the more people will believe it. |

Thanks for the link! As it turned out, Dr. Pert hardly spoke at all -- and then when she did, I totally disagreed with what she said. (Surprise!)
(She said that cancer isn't caused by your thoughts but by pollutants, etc. Hmm. But then if that were all there is to it, why wouldn't everyone exposed to the same toxins get cancer? Pollutants are an EFFECT, not a cause, and they, too, are caused by thoughts. And then if we fill our minds with toxic thoughts we can not only attract the pollutants but create specific reactions to them in our bodies.) I love it that people are talking about this stuff. Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Rebecca |
