Leslie, Yes, to everything you said. And, since it's often helpful to hear how someone else says it, here is a link to a youtube video of Wayne Dyer speaking on this exact point. The Value In Feeling Good Feelings Blessings, Phil

Every bank that has ever existed, existed ONLY because it was in debt to its customers, those people of all income levels who lent it their money in hopes of being paid interest on the loan by their debtor, the bank. This is no different to when your creditors, the people or organisations who you owe money to, ask you for interest on that debt. This is a simple truth that often gets overlooked, especially if your bank tries to guilt you back into lending IT money by making calls or writing letters when you have your overdraft or loan for too long. What they're actually saying is, "go back to lending US the money, there's a pal!" Banks are seldom ashamed, in fact ever since the middle ages they've been rather fond of building imposing architectural masterpieces on our high streets and business districts, despite the fact their sole business is being in debt to millions of "little people"... (I post this not to put down banks, but as a reality check regarding debt, shame and the flow of funds in any healthy economy, by the definitions we currently understand that anyway.) You're totally right. I have my own company and it is totally normal to loan the money. Just like the bank needs money, a company needs money. And loaning it is the way to go. It used to bear heavy on my mind. But I'm getting better and better at this stuff. Liesbeth "The odds of hitting your target go up dramatically when you aim at it." Mal Pancoas

Mental/emotional obstacles like shame and guilt seem to be mentioned repeatedly in this thread. If this is you, then here’s a passage I came across, that may help you have the courage to alleviate, resolve and ‘move beyond’ these feelings. “To not love yourself is to be blind to your true nature and the true loving nature of the universe. It is to be caught in the lies of ego and shrouding traps, such as guilt, shame, undeserving and self-loathing.” Aine Belton Maybe there a connection with not loving ourselves, losing our connection to God or Source, and being prone to feel guilt or shame? Maybe one feeds on the other? Btw, do you feel guilty, ashamed or uneasy when you feel good about yourself? Just some thoughts and questions. Our feelings are amazing, aren't they? So much more to them that just the feelings. Phil "The Universe is responding to how we feel." Esther Hicks

Letting guilt block the Light from reaching you is like saying there's a sin (in the broadest sense of that word) you can commit that is BIGGER and stronger than the all-encompassing love of God. Spot the possibility for "idolatry" (making a false and/or harmful thing replace your trust in God) there? Asking forgiveness is to say that Divine Love in this universe is more overwhelming than any minor act of your mind or soul. One to ponder on, perhaps.
