Wally talks about the need to know what I want & have a cmi of it, he says that ...."everybody"..wants things like more money, etc and that until you get a cmi of specifically what is wanted, the results are nil.
The more I try to get specific on what I want (financial freedom)the more resistance I get & I can't get myself to feel the 'faith/purpose" to have this that SOGR says is needed. Has anyone ever felt 'stuck' like this? Megan |

OMG YES!!! The resistance that you are aware of -and it is wonderful that you are aware of it- is telling you that your subconscious and your conscious mind do not agree, and that you have limiting beliefs. It was for me an opportunity to learn EFT and One Command to reprogram my limiting beliefs-my SUBCONSCIOUS mind. This is absolutely critical, because unless the SUBCONSCIOUS gets reprogrammed, the old subconscious beliefs will win out EVERY TIME over your new conscious ideas. Once I did that, I felt "unstuck" and started feeling happy and very peaceful, and then things slowly began to manifest. Now all kinds of amazing and wonderful things are manifesting for me-but that's for another post. Rebecca talks about reading the book over and over again. So did I. Wally says to commit the book to memory. I'm pretty close. But the muck in my head was a lot thicker than Rebecca's Hope this helps, thanks for sharing, Julia "Once I learned to herd cats, I realized that ANYTHING is possible..." I have absolutely been stuck like this too. One thing that helped was to decide at least one thing I wanted, even if I didn't know the whole picture or even if or how it would fit in.
I love lemons and I have always wanted a lemon tree. I bought a bound sketch book with alternate pages lined. I bought some wonderful coloured pencils and I drew a lemon tree and then listed all the things I liked about it. It hasn't yet appeared but it makes me happy to think about it and I can feel other things are starting to form from this picture. Don't stress, just start somewhere and see what happens. cheers Pauline underpromise & overdeliver |

On the subject of a clear mental image, last night I was watching a bit of the Olympics and an advertisement came on that was fascinating to me.
The narrator was talking about one of the US women athletes (didn't catch the name), and how when she was a little girl she drew posters of herself winning a gold medal. Then the ad showed an actual poster with a photo of her winning gold and the narrator said, "Now she doesn't have to draw her own posters anymore." I loved it, but I thought: Oh, but her vision of herself way back then and the fact that she loved it enough to PLAY with it, live inside it, and make it into an actual, literal image has EVERYTHING to do with why she's on those professional posters today. One little tip on how specific to be: Get into the picture as much as you can and still feel excited and happy. As soon as the "yeah buts" start to creep up, back off. What I like to do then is turn the "yeah buts" on their heads, so when I feel a doubt -- for example, "but that's not likely to happen," then I say to myself, "Yeah, but what if it DOES?" Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Rebecca |

Julia Thanks for your reply! Reprogramming the subconcious feels challenging. I'm always surprised at what keeps popping up in my mind. I take one chapter a day & reread, reread, reread. I'm DEFINITELY slower than Rebecca! Megan |

[QUOTE... decide at least one thing I wanted...
[/QUOTE] Pauline I was just thinking that last night. I recalled the chapter in the book that talks about the man that was so poor he couldonly 'reasonably' ask for a rug & a stove. I guess when you want so many things, starting small will help build my cmi muscle! Thanks for your reply, Megan |

Megan, I have one singular thing that always seems to get me unstuck, and that is to focus on improving how I FEEL. I will ask myself, “Do you want to feel good? Do you want to be happy? Do you want to feel better? Do you want to feel more peaceful or calmer? Do you want to feel safer or more secure? Do you want to feel love or loved or more loving?” Invariably the answer is, “Yes.” I think people get too fixated on money, or a certain relationship, or on having this or that thing, and they forget the whole point is to have a good feeling experience. (Why else does anyone really want money, some circumstance, relationship, position, recognition, etc., etc., etc.?) So, if some good feeling is the crux of the matter, then why not just focus on that? Then possibly – as many a manifesting teacher will say – the rest will come. “Just get happy.” Joe Vitale – Marketer, Best Selling Author, Manifesting Teacher, Multimillionaire, etc., and former homeless person who used to forage for food in dumpsters and sleep on the streets “We don't know anybody that wants anything -- whether it's a change in their body, or a physical condition, or a relationship, or an event, or a pile of money -- we don't know anything that anybody wants that isn't for the same reason, and that is you THINK that in the HAVING of that manifestation you will feel better. And what we're saying is: you MUST find a way to feel better FIRST, then the manifestation will happen.” “When you're happy in the stream whereEVER you are, you've made peace with where you are. And in making peace with where you are, you've released resistance. And in the releasing of resistance, you're flowing rapidly toward what you are wanting.” “We are really advocates of just getting as happy as you can be which takes care of everything. Even if you don't have reason to be happy make it up. Fantasize it. Make a decision that you're going to be happy one way or another no matter what.” Abraham-Hicks Try it out. In any given moment there is always something you can do, or think, that will cause you to feel better, or lead you to a better feeling. To me it makes perfect sense: What you inevitably really want is a good feeling. And by getting better at feeling good you align with having what you really want, whether it takes the shape of more money, or a particular relationship, position, circumstance, recognition, or some or all of that or more. "Two unlike things repel each other. Harmony and discord do not dwell together. Believe that the love and harmony of God surround you, enfold you and enwrap you. As you continue to commit yourself wholeheartedly to this truth, your subconscious will respond and you will BEAR A SEEMINGLY CHARMED LIFE.” From ‘Telepsychics: Tapping Your Hidden Subconscious Powers’ by Joseph Murphy It seems to me, most everyone has what can be called a Baseline Mood, a feeling we have generally, from day to day. By changing certain habits and/or improving certain thoughts or beliefs, we can raise this Baseline Mood. And my experience seems to be telling me that when this is done, things will just work out more and more. Could you be taking better care of yourself? Could you be having better thoughts about yourself? Could you be having better thoughts about others? Could you be appreciating more? Could you be a bit more easygoing? Could you be more focused on finding more things to enjoy and be glad about? Would you feel better if your spaces were just a bit neater, or cleaner or more organized? Would you feel better if you found enjoyable ways to exercise or move your body? Or could you feel better just by thinking better thoughts about the body you've already got? These are just some of the ways a person could easily improve their feelings. But, it seems to me, you won’t do it unless you know the value of it, or at least are willing to experiment with feeling better, just to see what happens. Phil |

Phil I felt worry when reading your post because when I followed SOGR instructions and only focused on how great it was to be living financially free, I ended up losing everything! I didn't just sit around wishing & hoping, as the book says, I did all I could do each day, giving more in cash value, believing that while I was doing work I didn't like, I believed it wqas leading me to something better, stayed in gratitude, and when a doubt came I cast it aside, and finally I had daily conversations with The aFormless Stuff. Actually I fel pretty 'good' during this period, regardless of what appearances where telling me. I just felt that somehow it would all work out. But it didn't & now I read your quote & say, oh yeah, fake it till you make it & end up back in the car again. It scares me, then I'm back feeling bad. Megan |

Dear Meghan: you wrote
A while ago I wrote to this forum about the same dilemma or what I thought it was one. Your words are telling me you are giving up because you tried to do what the book says for a little while and it didn't work. What you are living now you created long time ago, changing your ways now it will change your future, and as you get better at it and be able to align with your heart desires it will change your present. When you hear: live in the present that is all we have; it is the truth we only can do now, this second, this moment, today. If you were feeling so good why did you stop? It doesn't work if you are always asking why it doesn't work, Why? if I've been so good? Well, maybe you haven't because you are too aware of “what is” that it has kept you where you are. I know you must be feeling crappy to say the least but try to believe that everything is going to be alright. Personally, I don't believe in: fake it until you make it; because what we get is what we put emotion on it and if I don’t believe it I won’t put emotion. Sadly we believe more in bad things than good things. Look for something you can believe. There is an exercise that Abraham offers called the “Focus Wheel”, in there they ask you to define what you want and then how to get in alignment with it by writing down thing that are possible to you. For example: you want a house, but why you want a house?, is it for security or to build a family, so what you want is security or a family. I can’t go into all the details because I may mislead you but if you go in Google and write focus wheel you can find everything about it. Hang in there find some things to believe in, we’ve been program to be pessimist and see “reality” all of our life it is not easy to get rid of it in a second. The only work we need to do is to find the way to believe we can and then the inspired action will follow. We love you here so don’t leave us either Lots of love Luz Maria I am that I am I am God in action in this my body and through my mind. |

Megan, From what I (now) understand, this is definitely NOT about ‘fake it ‘til you make it’, at least in terms of how you ACTUALLY feel. It seems to me, when I tried to apply SOGR years ago I did something similar to what it seems to me you’ve done. And, I didn’t get the results I wanted either. Things just sort of kept falling apart. It seems a part of the reason was, I was being ‘wishful’ as opposed to actually getting myself to where I was actually feeling good feelings. I’m wondering if – in the period before you lost your living space – were you ‘trying’ to feel good, as opposed to ‘actually’ feeling good? There’s an easy way to know: Feeling good is completely effortless. Were you ‘efforting’ to feel good? Notice for yourself, that putting in effort to feel good is NOT the same as feeling good. Or, were you ‘putting on a happy face’ but not feeling good? From what I understand, this is not about putting on a happy face. People put on happy faces while they are upset, irritated, fearful, resenting, envious, jealous and the like. And they only reap the consequences of their true feelings. From how it seems to me, manifesting what we want is NOT about PRETENDING to feel good. It’s not about FAKING a good feeling. It’s about actually EXPERIENCING good feelings, more and more. It seems to me, the Universe doesn’t respond to how we PRETEND to feel. It responds to how we ACTUALLY feel. Let me try and give you a direct experience of what I’m talking about. Right now you are no longer homeless and you have a roof over your head. Do you ever feel good in this circumstance? If so, answer this next question. When you’re actually feeling good, is there any effort involved? There isn’t, is there? You simply just feel good. Feeling good – the actual experience of it – is completely effortless. So,… if feeling good is effortless, what must a person do when they’re NOT feeling good and they want to feel good? There are several ways, but the point is to get to where you **effortlessly** feel some good feeling, e.g., peace, calm, confident, relaxed, expecting something good to happen, loved, loving, strong, capable, resilient, worthy, safe, precious, etc. But I think an important thing to consider is, if you are trying or wanting to feel a good feeling, you are NOT – in those moments -- feeling a good feeling. And in this state, you are attracting what you don’t want. Could it have been that when things went badly for you, you were actually generating the ‘trying to feel good’ state, as opposed to actually feeling good? The reason I ask is, I can’t find anything in what I’ve studied that contradicts the following idea: “The Universe responds to how you feel.” Esther Hicks Phil |

Megan, focusing only "on how great it was to be living financially free" is definitely NOT all there is to SOGR. That's just one element, one piece of the formula.
Sometimes those "appearances" are signs and signals that we need to take action. Then, the key is to find alignment with what we want (the opposite of the "appearances"). We give our focus, faith, and feeling to that, not the appearances, and take inspired ACTION in that direction. Things DO all work out, but not generally when we're just waiting for them to magically change. Wally says clearly that gold won't mine itself, coin itself, and come rolling down the road to you. But amazing opportunities WILL and when you seize them with faith and enthusiasm, it sometimes FEELS like magic happened. When we're not in that alignment, though, a million opportunities and happy alliances could be springing up all around us and we just won't see them. Now, in another book, Wally tells us not to spend ANY time investigating the causes of what went "wrong," but instead to get a new vision and give our attention to THAT. Use the contrast of "Oh, crap, I've created exactly what I do NOT want" to show you exactly what you DO and then use your magnificent imagination to flesh it out until it feels fantastic and inspires you to move into action. That's what I'd do -- it's what I aim to do in my own life -- and it's what I recommend here and now. You're worth it, and you CAN do it. It just takes practice, like almost anything worth doing. We let go of "practicing" what doesn't work and move into what does. Sometimes we need a really BIG wake-up call to notice the difference. (That's sure been true for me in the past!) So know you're being supported by power beyond imagining -- and part of that power is expressing right here in the forum where people you've never even met are believing in you and seeing your True Self whole and happy and in a situation that delights you. Lighten up on yourself and give yourself some credit. You've come a long way already and, wow, you've got some BIG stuff in the works as a result. Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Luz Maria, I loved your reply to Megan. Megan, I like the analogy in the Secret. I don't know if you've seen it. It gives the explanation Luz did and then shows all those good feelings like little seeds under the ground, our faith, focus, action, and feelings nourish them and then begin to sprout and break forth out of the ground. We may not even notice they are doing it. And then, because we DO NOT SEE results, we give up, we stop nourishing, and the little seedlings wither, and die, and return to the earth.
Keep it up. Good things are coming. See them in your mind and they will begin to grow. They already have. Just keep nourishing them. |

Phil you were right on here, As it all fell apart, I was trying to fake feeling good, confident it'd work out, etc. So now I've proven 'fake it' doesn't work. My question now is, if I can instantly 'feel good' remembering a song I love, do I stay with that to get to feeling good about a cmi I really want but don't yet believe is possible/happening? Will focusing on ANYTHING that makes me feel good help me to get closer to manifesting a cmi? Thanks, Megan |

YES!!! And that's because the feelings always, always, always show us in what direction our powerful thoughts are focused. When we don't feel good, it means we are holding thoughts that don't feel good. Thoughts that can't take us where we want to go. Thoughts that are throwing up barriers. When we feel good about anything and in any way, it means that our thoughts are not in resistance. So we're opening up the floodgates. This is why when I find something "sticky" that bothers me and I have a bit of difficulty letting it go, I use a releasing technique -- like eft, or the work, or anything else -- or I just call up a friend to help me refocus or have a good laugh. Doing something you enjoy is powerful, even if it's just taking a hot bath or going to a movie or reading a good book. It takes you out of resistance and into ease, flow, and allowing. But trying to "fake" feeling good is pointless. I can't even imagine how to do that, frankly. Because no matter what you tell yourself in that situation, you (and You) still know the truth. It's probably no more "work" to go ahead and find something that REALLY feels good anyway, so go for the real thing. When I was a kid there was a TV ad for some kind of margarine with the tag line, "It's not nice to fool Mother Nature." Well, it's not nice to fool the Universe, either, and beyond that, it's IMPOSSIBLE. Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Rebecca |

Megan, are you a Practical Genius? If not, you might consider becoming one. Today's LL24 was so good. And as I heard each point covered, I thought of you.
Here's a great quote from it: Until one is COMMITTED there is always hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always INEFFECTIVENESS. Concerning all acts of initiative, there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in ones favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way. Here are some of the points made without the explanations. * Become unstoppable * Don't be discouraged * Don't worry about your ability * Don't overwork or rush * Do all that can be done today * Be patient and persistent There is lots and lots more in it. And I have listened to it twice and am reading it again. It's really a powerful Life Lab in my mind. I can't wait to do the exercised which I haven't even looked at yet. Keep moving forward. We're here for you. |

Dawn I wish I could do the PG course, everyone raves about it on the Forum, having an extra 10.00 to spend is still a luxury for me! I'm hopeful this temporary cash flow problem is coming to an end. This week I had unexpected car repairs that took all my food money for the week and I finally woke up hungry this AM & said, "o.k. God/Spirit/Formless Stuff", I can't do it anymore, it up to YOU, how are YOU going to handle this mess?" And the ONLY thing I can do now is be on the lookout for what my next 'action' should be. Thanks for thinking of me, Megan |
