Did Orwell Understand LOA?

Although George Orwell is probably best known for his novels of political parodies and dystopian futures, even in his works there are allusions to the law of attraction.

For example in 1984 the protagonist is told "The law of gravity is nonsense. No such law exists. If I think I float, and you think I float then it happens".

Orwell also said "If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controllable, what then?"
