I've always been told I needed to gain weight. That 112 pounds is healthy for my 5'2" frame is ignored. Beauty is being full-bodied, with bountiful proportions.

Pah! My beauty cmi is to be a slender, delicate-looking waif with large, faintly ironic eyes. To be rather pale, which adds an ethereal effect and to have long hair.

Cmi achieved. I already look like that.

I feel silly and vain, and maybe it's a bit of a cheat but I also feel I've now neutralised this potential stumbling block. Big Grin

My first attempt at a CMI was to be (perfect) and loved - I tormented myself with it for nearly a decade, despite not really wanting (for whatever reason) to actually get there... then, I found someone who loved me despite my chunky thighs, pear-shaped bum, and double chin. The 35 pounds I gained since I was 35!

Should I suffer and strive to get rid of them, even though my DH wouldn't like me to do it?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - my beloved has some interesting non-plastic attributes, so do I.

I still wear makeup and push-up bras, and colour my hair - and my DH still brings me the occasional poem, or bouquet.

Life goes on - love is all that matters, not plastic media concepts of today's fashionable waif, or muscular "ripped" hunk... Wink

I think that the very best thing you can do for your appearance is to be happy.

That being said, the best way to improve on your appearance is to love at least some of what you have -- like luv2luv said. Ironically, the better I look in the mirror, the more motivated I am to look even better. If you focus on what you think is beautiful about yourself, you will be in the best state to spontaneously do things that will bring you more health and beauty in the future.

There is also something to be said for having incentives. Smile One article I read recommended that you always go to work dressed as if you expected to be photographed for the newspaper that day -- or to meet someone you really want to impress. Being surrounded by mirrors all day can be a great motivator, too. Lol.

Love and blessings,
Rachel

Goes to show you how culturally conditioned beauty is. Overhere people eat horrible shakes to get to your weight.
If people (mostly women) could stop judging each other, we all could be beautifull.

Yeah, life goes on. In any event, my looks seem to work for some men. My baby daddy didn't get me pregnant while under the influence, and he didn't do it in a frenzy of pity either. That's quite enough for me.
