By reading in mr. Wattles book yesterday ,this came into my mind and maybe it is nice to share it on this board with you.
Many years ago when my husband and I found out we couldnt have children, we started an adoptionprocedure. I saw an advertisement in the newspaper: somebody wanted to sell a complete baby-outfit inclusive a very nice craddle and perambulator. I bought all and started knitting a blanket for the baby. Weeks later we got a letter from our Dutch government that adoption was not possible for us because it would take 5 years to get their permission and by that time my husband would be "to old". My parents and rest of the family looked at me with pity because I bought all this babystuff. But I was still knitting, believing very much I would have a baby.
A couple of months later, my husband got the message that he would be send to Germany (he was in the Royal Dutch Airforce). In general they sent only young (and single) people there because that was cheaper, so, this was very special. In july 1977 we moved to Germany. In september we visited a fair and I saw a leaflet about financial adoption for children in Indonesia. At the end was written: personal adoption is also possible:-). First we asked the German government their permission for adoption and 2 weeks later they visited us. We talked and I showed the babyroom to the man and he said: I see everyting is ready for the baby: NEXT WEEK (NOT 5 years from now!!) you'll have our permission in your letterbox!! And we got it. We wrote to the adress on the leaflet and on 28th January 1998 we went to the airport to pickup our baby-boy, he was 5 months old!!He was so tiny that he slept in his cradle until he was 9 months old!! It was also very special that I'm very afraid to fly but the baby was send to us, it was the last flight because later people had to go to Indonesia to pick up their child personally! I kept praying, believing and knitting the babyblanket all the time. There was not any doubt in my mind, not for a second, that I would have a baby! It is amazing to find out after 28 years, that I followed what is written in Mr. Wattles book!!
And of course I'll do the same now, even I'm in such a bad position at this time: my house will be sold this month and I dont know where I'll go.....
I think it is not at all by chance that I downloaded Mr. Wattles book a couple of days ago!

Am very interested in your replies:-).

greetings,
Margaretha

Maybe we intuitively do what is right sometimes. I remember I applied once for a scholarship in Japan. Only two applicants from Brazil could be chosen. I really wanted to go. It was my last chance as only university students could apply and that was my last year. I started visualizing me going to the airport, boarding the plane, flying all the way to Japan etc. Things started to happen. Information I needed for my dissertation started to appear in magazines etc. I was selected for the interview, and the judges liked my interview so much that immediately after the interviews they told me I was one of the two students going to Japan! They normally don't do that as they write to you later telling you whether you were chosen or not. Now I'm doing the same thing for a course I want to do in South Africa and Sweden next year.

    Hello IKanDult,
after we got our baby, I thought it would be so nice to have a little brother of sister for him but that was out of the question: we couldnt affort to pay 15.000 incl. flight to Indonesia and my husband would have to go alone there:-(. But I was afraid the plane would crash and then I'd be alone with my baby.

So, I let it go but of course thought of it now and then.
One year later we got a phonecall: they had a girl for us, 2 years old but handicapt by polio.
Was adopted by Germans but when the man came home from Indonesia with the child, the mother didnt want it and the next day they brought it back to the adoptionassociation in Holland.
We had 24 hours time to say yes or no and we said yes and 1 week later the girl was ours!

In the first situation of wanting a baby, I thought, believed and prayed for it every day,it was never out of my mind.

But in the second situation I "let go", thinking: if God wants us to have a second child, we'll get it, one way or another.
It had never happened, so the association told us, that people give back the child they adopted. So this was also a very special!

It makes me wonder that I acted and believed different in both cases but with the same outcome!

Do you or anybody else who read this, has an explanation for that?

    greetings,
    Margaretha

Yes, Margaretha! In both these wonderful situations it was your FEELING that brought you what you desired. That's the power behind the thought, the power that does the real "impressing." In both instances you actually believed it was possible for you to have the babies. In the first, you prepared the way. In the second, you let go of the "how" and any resistance.

    Wonderful!

Love & blessings, and, of course--
    EXPECT Success!
