I am but a beginner however, A simple but not short answer might be in our attachments and busy lives- fears, desires, habits, doubts and judgements and the fact they severely limit the amount of power we take in. With meditation we can remove the obstacles and so open the door to the necessary spiritual levels of consciousness. Perfect stillness; silence of the body, speech, and mind. To find that stillness we learn the art of allowing our actions, thoughts and feelings to be, but not to let them control us. Meditation is the pure consciousness experienced once our minds stop being busy. It is difficult because it is really doing "nothing'' it is just being. I believe meditation can (but not unless you choose) also provide direct access to The Source. We may not understand it but it is there to be found by those really looking. |

| A beautifule and simple technique for meditation is described in "The Impersonal Life" Find it online at http://pure-research.net/healing/bestill/ Be easy with it. If you try not to think you will find yourself thinking about not thinking. Observe your thoughts as ripples on the water, then command your whole being to "be still", dive into the infinite deep. When you find that you have surfaced again, simply observe the thoughts/ripples and once again with the command "be still, and know..." go deep. There is a distinct rythym to meditaion especially when you begin. Honor the rythym. |
