Sharss, Using real case studies is a great way for people to really work out things for themselves. If you knew me you would not have to ask the question as to whether I helped this guy.

I cannot see any negatives in using this story to try and enlighten others. Reading the thread it seems to have opened some spirited discussion, and who knows there may be some advice that I can pass on that will actually help this guy.

With regards minding someone elses business, the reason he involved me was because he knew that I may be able to help him, that is hardly poking my nose in.

We are all entightled to our opinions, and I respect your right to express yours.

Well, This thread helped me think over my own situation and see if I am neglecting my family and not following the SOGR way. Just being aware of this situation can help me avoid any damage to my family.

Neo-David-Bladerunner maybe that is your calling a PR guy? Maybe Croz can hire you to help him get conventions in the states? Great way for Croz to get a free trip to the US so maybe we can go see him. Id tell you to call the mayor of Detroit to see if you would like Croz to come but I think he has his hands full.

Today I shared the concept of what you wrote about with a friend of mine. The look in her eyes was one of "wow I can see what you mean".

It reminds me of what one of my teachers used to say: "Happiness is a NOW experience".

I thought you would like an update.

Things are looking really good.

This guy has rearranged his schedule and put by weekends to be with his family.

The funny thing is, he told me, that since he has done the adjustments to his time management, SURPRISE, SURPRISE, he seems to work less and achieve more.

Where he used to say, "I only do this because I really enjoy it", [when referring to working so hard,] he has suddenly said that he is going to try and make even more time to spend with his family.

Do you find that you defend a position, because you are convinced that it is right, or you convince yourself that you are doing something because it is the only way?

It is only when we CHANGE our view or CHANGE our mind that things become clear.

Even if everything looks in order never be afraid to change things. You can always go back to the old way, if you still think that was right, but at least you are comparing or making decisions based on fact, and not on what you assume to be the case, or what you have always done.

I think that this story also tells us that we must consider the effect of our actions on others. So often we justify hurting or ignoring people because we say that things will be OK in the future. The safest way to ensure that the future is OK, is to be happy and content in the NOW, and that way you cannot possibly arrive in the future with any work to do to repair relationships.

It is a particularly human thing to do, sacrifice time and pleasure in the now in the hope that the things will be better in the future.

I suggest that we all look at our now, and consider if we can make it better by making any changes. As in this case, you may surprise yourself.
