Hi Ancient Soul

That was a beautiful post, and certainly made me feel happy, Thank you.

That is exactly what this thread is for.

Your happy moments do not have to have any immediate connection to SOGR, but I am sure that they will be a result of someone acting in a certain way.

Greeting all,
My ex-inlaws just left, and we had a ball. My husband outdid himself cooking, and the kitchen still has the scent of marsala wine and sauteed butter.

When we saw them, it was so relaxed-as if 20+ years were like yesterday. Everyone raved about the food,(even the two children, 10 and 4, ate everything) and ate until they were stuffed.

My ex mother-in-law, who I'll call Mrs B, Has deeply desired to see her two grandchildren for some time, so when my oldest boy got clean and expressed a desire to see her, I jumped at the chance to put this party together.

Mrs B. has always been a most inquisitive and loving person, and she asked all about Dino, how he was healing from his cancer and the healing work that I do, since she's never known anything about alternative healing, and wanted to learn about it. I could see that she was in a lot of physical discomfort due to her Parkinson's, which she's had now for the past 9 years. She was very interested in my techniques. So I offered to give her a crystal healing, and she was so happy I asked that she said "Yes, right now".. Big Grin I worked on her energy field, and I felt peace as I channeled energy into her. It was so cool to see peace and joy spread over her face as I channeled. Cool Big Grin

And while I was doing the healing, my oldest son was drumming gently on the congas that my daughter bought me for my birthday. It was a wonderful backdrop to the whole healing experience. And it was the first time she has seen my oldest in at least 8 years, and she had never heard him perform. The family is very musical, and they really appreciated the drumming.

The son that brought her, who I'll call J.,(one of 9 siblings) is very well to do, and makes great money doing what he loves, which is as president of his own finance company. We started talking, and I asked, "Do you watch the news?" I told him that I stopped watching, and instead, watch all the cool stuff on the Internet. He answered, "Oh no, I stopped watching a long time ago. There's too many happy things going on in the world, and they never tell you about it." I was really blown away. He is a good example of someone that naturally lives The Certain Way, and is naturally very positive. He said upon leaving, after doing most of the dishes for us, "I knew that we'd have a wonderful time. And it turned out even better than that!" Big Grin And we're all invited to his place this summer to hang out at his pool.

Well, all I can say is that I am so blessed. And I'm so happy that I can write about it here on this forum and share my day with all you awesome people.

PS Hey Nirakia, there's a piece of cheesecake left. Wink

Peace and Light,
Julia

My ex-inlaws, who I haven't seen in 20+ years,(see earlier post, page 1) are coming to lunch, and we're getting everything ready. They'll be here in 4 hours. This is all possible thanks to the forgiveness work that I did in the PG course. I'll keep you all posted.

I'm going to be able to take my daughter to park day today which I have not been able to do in some time. The weather will be nice, business is caught up to a point that I can slip away, and this week's park is the one nearest us. A perfect combination. That makes me very happy.

Hi All,
My ex's family (see story below) is coming for dinner on Sunday. My husband, who is a fabulous cook, has planned a menu:

Homemade egg noodles with a delicate basil-tomato sauce

Breast of chicken sauteed in Marsala wine with crimini mushrooms

    Fresh garden salad

    Homemade cherry cheesecake

    coffee, tea, or espresso

My kids and I can't wait! Smile

Yes, I had a blast again last night when I went over to the community center and handed out FREE balloons to the kids. Here is what makes it all worth while. Due to the large number of kids there, I had limited the choices to a few simple designs. I had a little girl come up and say she wanted a butterfly, I tried to explain to her that I couldn't do that because then everyone else would want one, I can't do that tonight. She wanted a flower instead, another complicated one, and I explained to her the choices she had. A puppy, a heart, or a sword. She said I want a butterfly. So I told her she would have to wait till the rush was over. she waited patiently next to me. After I got done with the other little ones, (3 or 4, there were older kids still in line) I made her the butterfly, she thanked me and walked away, then suddenly came back and gave me a big hug.

What makes me happy is seeing that the little girl is an expert in SOGR principles. She did not let the appearances (a puppy, a heart or a sword) deter her from her from her CMI: "I want a butterfly"

Now THAT makes me happy!!

It would make me happier if we could ALL focus our collective energies so that she maintains that attitude for the rest of her life.

Ensuring that all of our daughters, and their husbands/SO's, get to join us in Big Sky at least once this summer makes me very happy! Knowing that we are paying their airfare, allows them to relax and look forward to the fun ahead. Time spent with all of the kids around is some of the happiest times!

Regards,
T

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I must say that I am surprised that not many of you have taken the opportunity to relate the good things that are happening in your life.

Perhaps we are so conditioned to expect bad news, that we do not think that happy news is worthy.

I feel terrific when I read posts that relate to good things.

My happy news today is from someone who has turned their life around simply by accepting things as they are and dealing with that.

This is an extract from an email sent to me, and is the result of someone just accepting things as they are.

What really made me happy the past several days has been traveling with our Son-in-law, his parents, our grandson and granddaughter. (Our daughter had to work)

We spent 3 glorious days skiing in Telluride, Colorado, 1 day exploring the cave dwellings at Mesa Verde, Colorado and today riding an old time train in the Rockie Mountain Gold Country from Durango to Silverton, Colorado!

We also spent a lot of time getting to know each other better!

Hi All

This is great.

It is really cool that sharing our happy moments or thoughts with others, can actually bring some joy to people who may not at this time have any happy things to report.

As you all know I am convinced that our path to success and wealth, always starts with the fundamental feeling of happiness and relaxation.

Lets all keep these posts going.

Here is another one from me.

One of Vals best friends from the UK, is coming over to visit on Saturday. She was working out an itinerary to make sure that she utilised her visit to the best advantage. I know she wanted to organise a trip on a boat to Rottnest [ a magical island just of the west coast of Australia] but none of our friends were able to arrange it within the tight time frame.

Well last night we went out for a meal with some friends, who incidently own a magnificent boat, who Val had not approached, because their boat was being serviced and work done on it, out of the water.

During the meal, the conversation got onto Vals' friend and her visit, and Alan, the owner of the boat said "Would she like to go to Rottnest, only I am putting the boat back in the water on Wednesday, and I want to sea trial it to Rottnest."

WOW that was the only day that Val had spare during her visit.

That made me HAPPY

Boy, I wish I knew what made me happy. Everything moves so fast and I have so much going on it's hard to tell where the happiness comes from. Anyway, here's one:

I thought I needed this program that does really cool gallery layouts for web pages. Using the tools I had, I tried for a couple of days to find other ways to do this for my project. I came up with some good solutions and learned a lot that I can use for other projects, but nothing looked as good as what this other program could do.

I finally broke down and decided to get this program and when I went to the site I found... surprise... it was FREE!

That made me happy. How I missed that the first time I looked at it, though, I don't know. Wink

...and happiness number 2, though of no lesser importance...

This one about teaching English! (which is how I currently pay the bills!)

In the Course for Practical Geniuses one of the Life Labs asks us how we can more than fill our present place, so I looked at that with regard to my teaching and decided to teach every class with gratitude and joy. Well, in my next class I found myself incorporating SOGR principles into an English class for elementary students.

Their ears perked up!
They sat up straighter in their seats.
They became *interested*.

Well, I continued in the Certain Way, and found myself giving a lot of attention to one student who had a really bad attitude about learning English. She's a hairdresser, and she can't cut hair anymore due to a tendonitis problem. The lesson where I changed my attitude towards her was a lesson about the verb 'can' and ability. We were doing an activity that had us ranking abilities according to usefulness, and she ranked 'speaking foreign languages' and 'knowing how to use a computer' as the two LOWEST!

Whoa! And she needs to find a new career in 2008, in one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world!

Well, I have her a lot of attention in that class, and started to explore what she liked about hairdressing...and we ALL talked about how we use computers and how useful it is to speak more than one language...

Well, the next class she came in earlier than ever before, her face was alive and she was bright - she came in with a strong sense of PURPOSE!

That class introduced the past tense, and used a story about a man who LOVES football. In the story, LOVE is in present tense because it is a FACT that he loves football and we aren't going to put that in past tense.

So then we talked about what do we LOVE! And I found myself telling them "You must know what you LOVE!" Well, after a little while one young woman jiggled her pencil and said: "I love design." and so on and so on...

That makes me happy! Seeing my students faces light up with the new understanding of something deeper than the second language they are learning. Seeing their attitude change...seeing their faces alive with energy and enthusiasm for learning!
