Randy Pausch died about a week ago. He was an American Professor and is known for his "Last Lecture" that he gave back in 2007 when he was given months to live. While it is not LOA, it is a wonderful lecture on living life and I highly recommend watching it if you haven't.

But, at the same time, I saw ways in how this would enable you to give more to others around you by getting what needs to be done in a timely manner in addition to giving you more time to do other things with friends and family. |

I agree with Julia. Randy was a wonderful individual who sought to live his life fully but under a death sentence. He fully accepted the doctor's prognosis and thus his early death was inevitable. That's a challenge of our society - doctors' expertise can seemingly overshadow recovery from disease....

What an advancing man, lived a full life and gave that talk for his wife and kids which became and still is an inspiration to millions

When I first saw Randy's video,(may he rest in peace) I thought "Too bad that he believes that cancer is a death sentence." I personally have watched people, my own husband included, fully recover from cancer, even when the doctors have written them off as "hopeless". It's all about what you believe and FEEL to be true.

Well, that's ONE way of looking at it. I kind of think that Randy didn't view it that way, though. He just graduated "early." Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Rebecca |

Hi gang,
Its been quite awhile since I last posted. I had to bump this post to the top because I think that Randy was a great example of Wally's principles even if he never actually read SOGR. His "Last Lecture" was an inspiring talk on the power of our dreams and how important it is to pursue that which we really love. Also, I really think that the average SOGR student could do worse than to listen to his time management lecture. We all have the same 24 hour day to live in. His lecture has helped me to manage my time better which allows more time to directly pursuer my personal goals. Both lectures are easily available on you tube. His death was tragic but the way that he lived his life(especially his final year) is a wonderful lesson for all of us. Best wishes, Bill |
