Does anyone have suggestions for me? I am currently sick - not serious and nothing like a lot of people suffer through, but when I am in pain I tend to think negatively and get depressed.

I have tried:
1. saying to myself, 'OK you're just sick and it will pass. Don't look at the future in this state.' That works to a certain extent but not often can I feel happy.
2. I try to think of the benefits - like I am being forced to rest and 'smell the roses'. It is also possible that by being forced to rest now I am avoiding something more serious later and the universe is looking after me.
3. I don't like to ask for help but when I have to it is really nice to be looked after and cared for by my friends & family, who also seem happy to do that.

Anyway, I am sure you have suggestions as I practice choosing different thoughts and feelings, which is not that easy at the moment.

cheers

Imagine there is a sweet child that you love dearly that is sick. Your thoughts for this child would be so absolutely loving and gentle and kind. You would do everything in your power to help that child and let that child know it deserves unconditional love and goodness of every kind.

This child is also you. This is really how you are supposed to treat you -- precious and unconditionally deserving and worthwhile.

How does THAT idea feel? Wink

I think Rebecca has got the right idea. A while back I was sick and received the privilege of staying home. Since I don't read much when I'm at home, I decided to pick up a book and start reading. I ended up having such a fantastic day because the reading was so much fun.

I found the idea that felt good and ran with it. I was back in tip-top shape the next day.

You don't ever HAVE to do anything. You GET to -- if you let yourself.

Why don't you like to ask for help? Look at all the benefits: it's really nice for you and it makes your friends and family happy. Where's the downside to THAT?

Love & blessings, and, of course--
EXPECT Success!

Hi Sharma

I like to use Meditation for just such as purpose. I do a daily meditation to keep my stress levels down, but it can have a remarkable healing effect too. Proper meditation is not difficult, and there are many resourses available on the internet to help if you aren't sure. Try googling 'Trancendental Meditation' and see what comes up. It's meditation based on mantra chanting, and is by far the easiest method to learn.
