Endeavor To Create Good Memories

A friend and I were talking, and I was mentioning some early experiences that I had that I was fond of. She related, and I could see she was mentally reminiscing herself, and then she said, “Those are nice memories,” and, for some reason, it occurred to me, “This is what we really want more of,… fond memories.” And I wondered, what might it be like, if each day, we made the intention that TODAY I’m going to do or create something that will become a fond memory?

If we could do that, our lives would become a string full of fond memories.

Wouldn’t that be nice?

What might happen if, today, you made a point of doing or experiencing something so that, upon reflection, you would look back at some later time or day, and realize you created a fond memory?

What might happen to your life, if you did this daily? Might it increase your sense of fulfillment, gratitude and appreciation? And, how might that affect what the rest of your life to come might look and be like?

Hey that's GREAT!

One of my fondest memories since starting SOGR is from the time I made a costume with my daughter for her theatre banquet. I planned it in my head and it worked out just the way I planned. The smile on her face was priceless.

I love the idea of each day, planning to create a fond memory. Because, really, if we're not enjoying our lives, what are we here for?

Thanks a lot for this wonderful thought, Phil!

Love and blessings,
Rachel

Well, some of my best memories involve things that weren't initially a lot of fun at the time.

I've mentioned here before that my former partner and I used to stop when something wasn't going our way or pleasing us and one of us would say, "Well, you know, one day we'll laugh about this."

And that was the cue for the other to shrug and say, "Why wait?"

If you are appreciating THIS moment, that's the ultimate.

(Plus, a really wonderful aspect of memory -- according to the fascinating new book, The Invisible Gorilla -- is that we are very unlikely to remember what actually happened anyway. So since you are making up what you are thinking is a "memory," you might as well make up a "past" that pleases you when you think about it NOW.) Big Grin

Love & blessings, and, of course--
EXPECT Success!
