I once read about Clare Boothe Luce, the American woman who in 1930 decided writng for Vogue wasn't her thing.

Writing for Vanity Fair was, but VF wouldn't have it. She had hardly one year of experience writing at all.

So Clare set up at an empty desk at VF and typed, without pay, article after article destined for the editor's slush pile if it got that far.

I think she was escorted out in the beginning, but she kept coming back.

She went on to become associate editor of Vanity Fair in 1931, little over a year developing an interest in writing.

Howdy Bobka,

Interesting post that. Always believe in the possibilities. That's what I take. Also, I love your name, are you a Chocolate Bobka? Or perhaps, Cinnamon? Sigh. The truth comes out. Timmy is a Seinfeld junkie. I've been holding that in for a long time. I've had the urge to respond to many of your posts.....LOL! Keep up the good work there Bobka!

Love Light and of course, Laughter,

Timmy

Timmy,

I didn't know bobkas were pastries. My great grandma spoke 3 languages, one of them Russian. In her later years she gave up on her dentures and spoke and ate even apples without them.

Without teeth, she was difficult to undertand. She lived until I was in 7th grade but honestly, I only understood 3 words she ever said. Bobka was one of them.

Hi Bobka,

Loved the story. So inspiring to me now since I am changing jobs and going into a career that I have no professional experience in.

I am determined to keep trying until I get to where I want to go. It took her about a year...??? I am willing to go at least twice that long!!!

Smile,

Go prosper!!

Yeah she went on to be equally famous in different careers. She was a playwright, editor, longtime politician (senator?) among other things.

With knowledge of consciously creating one's life, we all might not have to!
