How does this sound to you?

“Attention,” says a beautiful, calming voice over a loud speaker, “Entering Paradise.”

How it sounds to you (or how you feel about it) will have something to do with how well you will be able to create the life you want.

If you KNEW you could enter paradise today, would you?

Some would say, “No.” Why? Because their idea of paradise is the one they’ve been taught where angels hover about and harps are being played and people float around on clouds and, well,… to be blunt,.. it’s a fairly boring picture. So, who would really want to enter that kind of paradise? Not many really.

So, let’s design a new, better paradise, shall we?

Let’s try to design a paradise that is really exciting and inspiring and uplifting, fun, delightful, awesome, forever interesting, mysterious and intriguing, gloriously challenging, enticing, and also soothing, relaxing, serene, blissful, lovely, beautiful, calming, comforting, healing,.. and every other good thing, in exactly the proportions you need it to be for you, in order for you to feel wonderful about being there – in paradise.

To me, that’s really what we’re here on Earth for. We’re here to bring ‘heaven to Earth’ each in our own way. And so, it is up to each of us to design and dream up a life that incorporates for us all the elements, experiences, conditions, circumstances, relationships, etc., that would be for us PARADISE. And then, by applying our knowledge of metaphysics or spirituality we create this paradise.

Or, possibly (and this is an idea I tend to agree with) we are here to realize we are ALREADY in heaven.

“That’s ridiculous!!” I hear you say. “Absurb! Stupid! How can it be heaven with so many people suffering?”

Well, let me try to explain. And by ‘explain’ please allow me quite a bit of latitude for error here. I’m really half speculating and half going on what I’ve experienced and what seems to me to be true.

Let’s go back for a moment, to that image of heaven – with its harps and clouds and angels. Now, let’s suppose these angels are all hanging out and God comes by and asks, “So how’s everyone doing? Is everything peachy?” (And, God is only asking this because he already knows that some of the angels are not exactly thrilled with this heaven they’re in.) Now, one of the angels answers, “Well, God, this is really a nice place you got here. I mean, old Gabriel can really blow that horn, you know? And this floating thing is really cool, but what do you do for excitement? I mean, floating on clouds and all is nice, but after you’ve done is for a few millennium, well,…” And God answers, “Yes, my angel, I know what you mean. And that’s why we have a physical version of heaven you can visit for awhile, called Earth. And on this physical version you can experience excitement and thrills and adventure, but only if I do one thing.”

And so the angel asks, “What is this one thing?”

And God says, “When I send you there, I have to take away your memory of you being here, in this ‘angels floating on clouds’ kind of heaven. If I don’t, you will not be able to really experience excitement, thrills and adventure, because you will know that it’s all a set-up, a sham—just put in place, like in Disneyland. In order to really feel excitement, thrill and adventure there must be an element of the unknown, because if everything were known you would not be excited about it? Do you see this? It’s like, if you knew every part of how a movie was going to unfold it would be terribly boring. So, the way to create excitement, thrill and adventure is to create a factor of mystery. I do this by taking away your memory of being here, in ‘angels on clouds’ heaven.”

“Well,” says the angel, “Now I don’t know if I really want to go. If I don’t know it’s safe, I’ll get really scared. I don’t want to be that scared.” And God says, “Well, then, for you I will occasionally remind you that it’s just a theme park like Disneyland. I’ll remind you through people and experiences, or from inside yourself, that I am always with you and you needn’t really fear any of it.”

“But,” God goes on to say, “Other angels have asked me to not be so easily available. They want to really be challenged and excited. So, they have asked me to seem to be far away and even non-existent. They want their Earth experience to be extreme, so I have agreed to seem to be very distant and even non-existent to them.”

“Well,” says a third angel, “That’s going to make it interesting. It seems then, that many of the angels who have some memory of you will have an easier time of it. And the ones who have hardly no memory of you will naturally have more difficulties. I can imagine they might even get jealous and envious of the angels that seem to have it easy.”

“Yes,” says God. “But that’s how they want to play it. But, of course, that’s not how it will be. ALL will be my angels, always equally love by Me, although each will experience their Earth time differently. And if an angel changes his mind – truly – and wants an easier go of it, I will reveal more to him or her, so that it will be so.”

“Wow!!” says a forth angel, to God. “This Earth adventure sounds really interesting. And I would like to experience some of this excitement and adventure. And I know that that will mean I will have to lose some of my memory of You. But what if I want it easier? What if I get overwhelmed with excitement and get terribly frightened?”

And God said, “Here you are in ‘cloud floating heaven’ and already you’re speculating about the fears you will experience on Earth. Don’t forget it’s all like pretend. I will always be with you, no matter what. And you will always really be safe, no matter what. And I will also give you the creative power to determine your life experience. Of course, I will have to hide this power from you a little, so it’s not so obvious, or else you would not be able to experience excitement and adventure. But you will get hints about it. And this too will add to your exciting experience of Earth life.”

And another angel chides, “Gee, I guess that’s why it was written, “God works in mysterious ways.” And all the other angels get a good laugh from that.

I don’t know what the Koran or Holy Bible say about judgment day. Maybe you will enlighten me.

In my opinion, today is my judgment day. NOW is when I am judged.

It seems to me that today I am judged completely fairly and without prejudice.

Today is the day I reap all that I have previously sown; with all my previous thoughts, feelings and actions.

And all my tomorrows will be influenced by what I do today.

A one percent improvement in any area of my life today will have dramatic effects on my eventual tomorrows.

Consider this: If a plane takes off for Seattle, Washington and makes but a one percent change in a southerly direction, it will land in Los Angeles.

One percent change is a lot.

One NBA coach’s instruction to his team was, “Make a one percent improvement in the different facets of your game.” The players felt this was do-able. One percent improvement? No problem. His team went on to win the NBA.

One percent improvement is a lot.

In some ways I like how I have been ‘judged.’ In others, I don’t like the judgment. So, the way I see it is, if I don’t like how I have been judged, I have THIS MOMENT to plea a different case.

The way I see it is, if I improve somehow, my judgment is altered.
