Hi
Now that The Secret and SOGR is becoming better known, I am receiving emails inviting me to participate in programs alleging to be connected in some way with these two organisations. Some look OK and some look a bit dodgy. Does anyone know about any of these? Which to get into and which to avoid? thanks... |

A thought just occurred to me about all this 'Secret' stuff coming into our awareness. I believe the collective consciousness has been asking for another way to live life, we have been looking for ways to BE what we always were meant to be. We are realizing that there is another way to live and now all this SOGR concepts are coming our way and into the lives of more and more people. The information has always been out there , in this day of Internet and Information Technology this information is able to get out there faster and reach many many more of us who are asking. Whether or not we take what has been placed in front of us and apply to our everyday thinking is up to us as individuals. I see this as a change in how many of us will be looking at our lives promoting the change that Wally has mentioned in his book, we are becoming and changing.

Hi Philip. My first question, have you completed Rebecca's course? My advice to you, as I'm sure a lot of other member's would be, is at the moment if you've just started is to continue on Rebecca's course. If you've finished it, do it again! I spent over a year on Rebecca's course and on these forums daily and listening to SOGR every day before I started to look at anything else. I felt the urge to look at other things not because I didn't understand it, in fact it was because I felt everything just click into place and make complete sense to me. I just had the urge to take inspired action. I know there seems to be hundreds of courses available since The Secret came out and there seems to be people not happy at this as it seems like they're all jumping on the Secret band wagon out to make themselves rich quick, maybe there is some out there like that. But I agree with Debryan. I think a lot of the courses available have been available for a long time, we're just becoming aware of it now because of the Secret.
I haven't done any of them so I can't vouch for any of them. I think its personal choice what feels right for you. All of other stuff I've been looking at has been free! Most courses I've found offer free sample stuff from their main courses, I've got free CD's and DVD's and audio recordings and free e-books and I haven't spent a cent! And all have been of great benefit in giving me another angle to look at something. And at the moment, the free stuff is enough for me, I feel no urge or need to go and buy the full course stuff. Not while I still have access to all the course material here! Take care, Shannon Live as if you have faith and faith will be given to you. |

Hello Philip
I have personally made the decision to follow my own instincts - and they tell me to keep it simple, not to scatter myself as I have in the past. I made a commitment to The Science of Getting Rich over a year ago, and that is all I need. I follow the rules as I understand them and practise this science every day. I have also learned to trust myself. I look inside for my answers instead of searching endlessly for additional knowledge. I have discovered that knowledge alone can be very limiting. Judi |

Hi Philip,
Personally I think if you haven't tried out Rebecca's course yet you should serious consider giving it a try, i can guarrantee it'll be money well spent. I have nothing against any of the other courses and Jack Canfield has being a personal favorite for quite a while now but when it comes to SOGR, Rebecca Fine's all I know and trust for now. Luv Ya! I totally agree. And I like to keep it simple, just like Wally says in the book, and agree that I really don't need anything else right now while I'm acquiring riches. The PG course works, and has been doing so beautifully in my life. And to me, results are what counts. "Once I learned to herd cats, I realized that ANYTHING is possible..." Thanks guys,
You're right Debryan. I did a course called Thought Dynamics back in 1983! All about The Secret. Not really looking for another course to do now, although I would consider the SOGR PG before anything else now. But some of the emails I've received have looked like multi-level companies. And the fact that I am receiving them from people I do not know makes them look like spam... ??? create a great day |

Hi Philip,
If it looks like spam, then it probably is. Especially if it is coming from people you do not know. Keep it simple, and be careful not to sign up for "free" courses. Any course that requires your email address is NOT FREE! Trust me, I had to learn it the hard way. Receving about 100 emails a day, and they are not spam because I signed up for them myself. I agree with everyone else on this forum. I, too, had signed up for free stuff only to be bombarded with numerous emails wanting me to buy something.
The course is enough for me, and I see a lot of free information on the internet that meets my curiosity well enough. I'm taking the course again. Like Shannon, I found it is something I need and want to do. I know I am going to see results like never before. I feel it in my bones. funny, I signed up for the free 7 and only received the first 2 and then nothing at all, no spam or any requests for anything.

Hi there Philip!
I've found that if it smells like a spam, and it looks like a spam, its spam. Another good one is "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch." Certainly there is nothing wrong with wanting to expand your SOGR experience and learn more. This is the sign of a healthy mind, to me. But, (isn't there always a "But" ) if you haven't taken advantage of what's offered right here on this site, then you've overlooked some of the best opportunities around. I encourage you to participate in the courses here and if you do, I guarantee you will find the answers you seek. I did...I have. Nuff said. Onward with success! Philip,
As many have said, an excellent starting point is right where you are. Whether you want variety and branch out after that is up to you. Some people prefer variety, others want to keep it simple. Personally, I've explored other authors, simply because I wanted to get different viewpoints on the same thing. Mind you, that's not advocating mixing philosophies that differ from SOGR, just looking at the same principles a little differently. The authors I've read, Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, Lynn Grabhorn, and others stress the same principles laid out in SOGR and also by Rebecca, so there's no contradiction. So, bottomline, follow your instincts. As far courses that require money, I generally find them unnecessary, because you can find the same principles elucidated elsewhere either for free or thru a book, like going to the library, searching the internet, or going to the bookstore. So, there really is no need to shell out large sums of money for knowledge you can otherwise get for free or cheaply. On the contrary, this may work to your disadvantage, because many then set up a mental scoresheet, like "Am I really getting my money's worth here?", which increases in direct proportion to the cost. This feeling can negate any benefit you may otherwise derive from the course. In the end, some people derive the greatest benefit from focusing on one author, others like to hear different points of view. There's nothing wrong with either approach so long as you don't mix philosophies. "All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night…wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, to make it possible." T.E.
