Shannon, talking to your neighbor is actually a great example of action because there was no work or stress or difficulty -- just the action of a friendly conversation. Perfect! Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Rebecca |

Shannon feeling good seems to be the main focus everyone says is the first step. I'm remindinf myself to feel good everytime I notice I'm not, even though it doesn't seem like just feeling good will lead me to the next step. Megan |

Megan, Then try the opposite. Indulge in your bad feelings, and see where these bad feelings lead you. What are the ‘nest steps’ dictated by your bad feelings? They lead you to feeling powerless. They lead you to feel like just giving up. They lead you to being idle, feeling weak, insignificant, forlorn or worse. They lead you to not noticing the beauty and opportunity there is all around in all that is. They lead you to miss experiencing joyful possibilities. They blind you to what’s possible in you and for you. On the other hand, examine some moment when something that was said, or something that you saw or heard momentarily triggered a good feeling in you. Notice how – in that moment – the world seemed brighter and more full of possibilities. And if you came across a thought that made you feel better about your SELF, notice how that empowered you, even if only a little. And try to notice how – if you allowed it, or even encouraged it – that good feeling might lead you to BELIEVE something greater or better about yourself or your circumstance. And try to imagine where that kind of change in belief might naturally and effortlessly lead. “The thing always happens that you really believe in; and the belief in a thing makes it happen.” -- Frank Lloyd Wright, Master Architect “The law of self-fulfilling prophecy says that you get what you expect. So why not create great expectations and the highest vision possible of yourself and your world?” -- Mark Victor Hansen, co-author of the ‘Chicken Soup For The Soul’ 100 million selling book series “Frequent occupancy of the feeling of the wish fulfilled is the secret of success." ~ Neville Goddard – The Power of Awareness "The creative power within us makes us into the image of that to which we give our attention." From Chapter 7 of The Science Of Getting Rich by W. Wattles “When you get this level of vibration, when you hold your picture of your goals in your mind, and you become that person, the Universe just starts delivering everything you need -- the tools, the resources, the money -- to achieve anything.” Ryan Higgins of Mind Movies http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RU38mkE7vY As an idea to practice, imagine how you’d feel if: “All the money I want or need comes to me easily and effortlessly.” Or: “I’m finding it easier and easier, to like, value, appreciate, and even love myself.” “Affirming, over and over, “I am now creating a successful career (or whatever) in an easy and relaxed manner, in a healthy and positive way” will, over time, overcome a huge number of your doubts and fears. I imagined myself, over and over — even way back when I was a total poverty case — living a life of ease, strolling around my big white house on a hill, with nothing to do, sitting on several million worth of assets. I visualized this repeatedly, and it came true in my life.” Marc Allen, self-made publishing millionaire “Your feelings create the pattern from which your world is fashioned, and a change of feeling is a change of pattern. The subconscious never fails to express that which has been impressed upon it. The moment it receives an impression it begins to work out the ways of its expression. It accepts the feeling impressed upon it, your feeling, as a fact existing within itself and immediately sets about to produce in the outer or objective world the exact likeness of that feeling. The subconscious never alters the accepted beliefs of man – it out-pictures them to the last detail whether or not they are beneficial. To impress the subconscious with the desirable state you must assume the feeling that would be yours had you already realized your wish. In defining your objective you must be concerned only with the objective itself. The manner of expression or the difficulties involved are not to be considered by you. To think feelingly on any state impresses it on the subconscious.” Neville Goddard in ‘Feeling is the Secret’ "It is never too late to find a good feeling place about anything. Things will constantly change to match the feeling you have inside." Abraham-Hicks “The feeling of health produces health. The feeling of wealth produces wealth.” Joseph Murphy in ‘The Power Of The Subconscious Mind’ Or, consider what our own 'Grand Poobah' has to say: “Tending to your own thoughts and feelings and letting yourself become the perfect match to your desires brings you joy and peace. And I promise you that your own joy and peace are the keys to everything -- EVERYTHING -- you want, for yourself and others.” Rebecca Fine And Megan, Let's be real about this,... Could a Grand Poobah ever be wrong? * * * * * * On another note let me say,… Feeling bad feelings don’t HAVE to lead you to doing nothing, feeling weak, etc. Maybe because of what I’ve studied (cognitive therapy, aka rational emotive therapy, similar, to me, to what Byron Katie teaches) when I get a bad feeling, I notice it, but I don’t just ‘buy into it.’ For me, a bad feeling is the starting point for a self-questioning process. I believe ‘bad feelings’ are ‘good’ in the sense ‘bad feelings’ show me where I am unwittingly holding myself back, or limiting myself somehow. It seems to me, every feeling – good or bad – is just a type of energy. It seems, one is expansive, and the other is contractive. Physicists tell us that everything in the Universe is made up of energy. Good feeling energy just seems to open us up and empower us. It seems to enhance our ability to think and act more clearly, creatively, healthfully, optimistically and effectively. Bad feeling energy just seems to stilt or stifle us. It seems to cause us to be foggy and ineffective in our thinking and actions. Isn’t this true for you? This is one of the reasons I believe feeling good has a basic, fundamental value, in and of itself. When you feel bad, imagine the opposite ‘good feeling’ condition. What would the opposite, constructive possibility be? Allow yourself to build on that positive possibility. If you’re feeling, “I don’t like myself.” Try imagining what it would be like if you felt, “I like myself.” Play with some positive possibility and give it some substance. "Anything that you are wanting: don't stand in the lack of it and lament that it isn't there and expect it to come to you. It cannot. Find a little piece of it, a little string of it, a little trail of it, a little clue of it - look for something about it, and focus upon that little piece, and by Law of Attraction, watch it grow!" You can create the seed of a good feeling, and deliberately feed it and nurture it, and it will grow. It’s simply a Law of Nature. Phil "The Universe is responding to how we feel." Esther Hicks |

Thats the beauty of it, I had no idea that chatting to my neighbour was going to give me a lead to follow up on, I was just going about my day and decided to step outside on my balcony for some sunshine at the same time as my neighbour decided to step outside to eat her lunch. The action steps will be presented right to you on a silver platter if you take the time to just feel good. Or in my case, the next action step was presented on a yellow post-it note. Quick note. I have become very aware of when I am forcing a situation lately....and I almost always face a negative outcome when I do.
It is really worth learning to discern the difference between enthusiastic and loving action and words, and those we force or try to manipulate based on what we think should be. There seems to be a naturalness to it all. Did I mention the week at the beach that I am not paying for????? LOL....enthusiasm, kayaks, swimming, sand, critters, moonlit nights....someone wants to share my joy. I did offer to provide spending money which isn't a chore because I save 5 dollar bills year long for fun money, and there is always enough. I didn't take much action. Just happened. Sometimes it does. Annie |

Yup, because it IS natural. It's our natural state. All that other stuff we do we have LEARNED. About action, it's so interesting to me that this idea of what FEELS like "not much action" is coming up in several threads here lately. What's so cool about it is that we ARE taking action; it's just that we don't notice it because: it feels natural, it isn't forced (or like "work"), and it sometimes (often) doesn't even really seem like it has anything to do with what we want. But it does! (The results show us that.) Have fun! (It's kind of the whole point ...) Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Rebecca |

Proff52, Here is something I wrote in another post. I’ve elaborated on it a little. See if it helps you clarify about what actions to take. * * * * * * * * * Take something simple, like the desire to be in great shape and excellent health. You can use this as an example of how to get anything you want in your life, in some good feeling, enjoyable, pleasant, fulfilling way. So, taking this example, let’s assume your starting point is, you are in less than excellent health or in less than excellent physical condition or fitness. This is something your physical senses can easily tell you. So, this is your starting point. Now, imagine the end result you want: You’re experiencing excellent health and you’re in great physical shape, really fit and loving being in your body. Also, imagine you’ve figured out how to happily, peacefully and enjoyably attain and maintain this level of physical health and fitness. So, in your imagination you can imagine feeling great about being in great physical health and shape, loving being in your body. If you imagine this way, it becomes fairly easy to imagine and FEEL some good feelings. How would you feel, if you were thoroughly enjoying being in your body? Maybe you’d feel delighted. Maybe you can imagine feeling pleased and delighted, as you imagine looking in the mirror and you see this terrific body. Or, in your imagination, as you move around in this terrific body, you notice how easy it feels to move around. Maybe you notice how FREE you feel, or how graceful and/or strong you feel. Maybe you notice you feel really pleased and even happy. Maybe you notice you even feel a sense of ease, peace and a profound inner sense of well being. Notice and enjoy any, some or all of the good feelings you can imagine, as you imagine being in the body of your dreams. Or, as SOGR says, “Enter at once into the full enjoyment of the things you want,…” in this case, of the wonderful, healthy, beautiful body you want. Now, in your seemingly immediate, real, physical reality, it may seem nothing has happened, or is happening to your body. It still seems to be in the less than ideal shape or condition it was, before you did any of this ‘imagining.’ But by now you should have at least have some of the emotional experience of what it would be like for you, to be in the body of your dreams. So, here is what you need to do, in your daily life. Spend a little time going back into your imagination and feel it again, the wonderful feelings of what it would be like to be in the body of your dreams,… and attaining it and maintaining it, in easy, joyful, happy, peaceful ways. Now, whenever you do this sort of imagining and conjuring up of good feelings, notice if you get a hunch or an idea of something to do, some action to take, that would be completely HARMONIOUS with ease, flow, feeling good, happy, at peace, etc. If some HARMONIOUS action idea occurs to you, then take it. If no harmonious idea comes to you, then, for the time being, assume there is no physical action for you to take. NOTE: These ‘hunches’ may often not be, or seem to be ‘earth-shaking.’ They are often little nudges, to take this or that action, or to go to this or that place, etc. So, it requires a bit of ‘paying attention’ to both how you feel, and the ideas that come to you. In case you’re wondering what easy, happy, peaceful action might occur to you, you might get the idea to drink some water. Or, you might get the idea to stretch a little. Or, you might get the idea to go and take a little walk. Or, you might get the idea to consciously breathe. Or, you might get the idea to do some sort of exercise that feels good to you. Or, you might get the idea to browse the Internet for some exercise or eating tips. You might get the idea to try some new food, or prepare a different kind of food, or to order something different at a restaurant. And you find out you actually like the taste of it, even though it’s ‘healthy.’ Or, it might ‘occur’ to you to take another look at Yoga. Or, you might get the idea that it would be fun to call a friend and go play a round of ping pong or tennis. Or, you just might get the idea to relax, and rest, and just enjoy being. That alone will help your body get into the magnificent shape you want it to be. So, in other words, you could get all kinds of happy, peaceful, easy, joyfully aligned ideas that would easily and effortlessly move you more into the experience of the wonderful healthy body you want. On the other hand, you could also think about the wonderful body you want, and get impatient. You might even get irritated at the body you currently have. You might even get resentful of it. And, with this sort of mindset, you start getting feelings of frustration, and you start getting angry at yourself, and now you want to PUSH yourself, and FORCE yourself to take actions that you ‘think’ you need to, in order to get the wonderful body you want. This is the kind of ‘motivation’ you want to become wary of. It’s fear based and misleading, and will usually lead you on to a path where you’re NOT enjoying the journey of manifesting what you want. You might also think of attaining excellent health and fitness (or any other good thing) and think, “It sounds too hard. It sounds like more work than I want to do, and so I’m not going to do it.” But this is ALSO just another ‘knee jerk’ negative belief reaction. Too often in life we unwittingly pick up the belief that ‘having something really good takes a lot of hard, painful work or struggle.’ If you get this feeling, STOP yourself for a moment, and realize you are just experience another negative BELIEF. It is NOT necessarily the truth. In fact, the truth is more likely, if there is some very good thing you want, you will most likely get it if you approach it in ways that do NOT involve hardship or struggle. "Life was never meant to be a struggle; just a gentle progression from one point to another, much like walking through a valley on a sunny day." - Stuart Wilde, multi-millionaire businessman, author, teacher "If I had six hours to chop down a tree I'd spend the first hours sharpening the axe." - Abraham Lincoln "The less effort, the faster and more powerful you will be." - Bruce Lee “You just cannot struggle your way to what you want. It has got to be easy.” Abraham-Hicks If you just learn how to pay attention to how you feel, and let your good feelings ‘lead’ you, they will lead you into the happiest, most fulfilling, easy, pleasant and effective actions. And the results you want WILL come. So, now. Can you see how this kind of strategy can be applied to anything you want, whether it’s excellent health, more money at the end of the month (as opposed to more month at the end of the money) or better relationships, or a special intimate relationship, or a pleasanter environment, etc., etc.? The wonderful thing about all this is, the better you get at imagining what you want, and experiencing good feelings with what you want, the more you become harmonious and aligned with what you really want, and then, all the pieces of what you really want start to easily come together. No struggling needed. No painful feelings needed to ‘motivate’ you. Just joy, love, peace and happiness, guiding you easily and effectively along, until one day, you look around and you are so amazed and awed at what you’ve brought about, so wonderfully. First Action: Invariably, the first action to take towards getting something you want is an action to change your consciousness about what you want, and how you FEEL about what you want. Very often, this ‘first action’ is, as far as the world is concerned, a ‘non-action.’ In other words, to the world it may appear you are doing nothing. It may appear to the world you are just day-dreaming, or wishful thinking. But you ARE doing something. You are establishing the DESIRED OUTCOME within yourself. You are firmly (feelingly) planting the seed of your creation (your desire) within yourself in such that it has the most possibility of taking root, growing and blossoming into the full realization you want. Arnold Daydreams “I imagined myself, over and over — even way back when I was a total poverty case — living a life of ease, strolling around my big white house on a hill, with nothing to do, sitting on several million worth of assets. I visualized this repeatedly, and it came true in my life.” Marc Allen, self-made publishing multi-millionaire “When you get this level of vibration, when you hold your picture of your goals in your mind, and you become that person, the Universe just starts delivering everything you need -- the tools, the resources, the money -- to achieve anything.” Ryan Higgins of Mind Movies http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RU38mkE7vY “Our emotions are powerful guidance systems, always telling us if the vibration of our thought is helping or hindering. Talk about an elaborate navigational system. We’ve been taught to believe we are at the mercy of our feelings and we should fear them, or even worse, ignore them. Not only is it safe to listen to our emotions, it’s absolutely necessary if we intend to attract our desires. … Until we learn to listen to our emotions and train ourselves to feel better by focusing our thoughts differently, our lives will be haphazard sets of circumstances.” From ‘Feel It Real’ by Denise Coates - actress, life coach, author "It is never too late to find a good feeling place about anything. Things will constantly change to match the feeling you have inside." Abraham-Hicks “The feeling of health produces health. The feeling of wealth produces wealth.” Joseph Murphy in ‘The Power Of The Subconscious Mind’ “Just as every computer has a ‘language’ it uses to get things done,.. it appears the Universe has a ‘language’ as well, and it’s a language we call human emotions, and the power of feeling, and what we believe to be true in our lives. (00:20-00:41) If we can learn to feel as if the things we want to experience have already happened, that is the ‘language’ that this field (of Unlimited Potential, aka God) understands and acts in accordance with.” Gregg Braden – author of ‘The Divine Matrix’ () http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...gMv4&feature=related “Tending to your own thoughts and feelings and letting yourself become the perfect match to your desires brings you joy and peace. And I promise you that your own joy and peace are the keys to everything -- EVERYTHING -- you want, for yourself and others.” Rebecca Fine You can learn to experience good feelings, and allow those good feeling to guide your actions. As Abraham-Hicks say, action is meant to be delicious. Inspired action is delicious, most effective, effortless, and a joy to experience. You can always know if the action you take is the ‘right’ one, because you will feel good – peaceful, happy, at ease, etc. -- as you take it. Phil "The Universe is responding to how we feel." Phil:
Thanks for this post. Seems everyone is emphasizing feeling good, not struggling, etc. So I've decided to experiment with this advice & I'm taking a break from 'working on myself' and just allowing myself to daydream about the life I want to experience. I know daydreaming isn't the focus/purpose discussed in SOGR, but I feel like the more I study, the more I feel pressure to 'do it right'. So for now, I'm just thinking about how nice it will be to live the lifestyle I want. i'll keep you posted! Megan |

My question is similar to Meghan's. My CMI is me working for myself in a business that I own and one I love working in. I see myself financially successful in this business as well. However, my problem is I don't know WHAT business to pursue. I have been focusing on the end result but haven't gotten any good business ideas as of yet.
In the past I have tried to research idea's but have not come up with anything good. This eventually made me frustrated. As the book says, action shouldn't be forced or feel negative in any way, so I have stopped researching business ideas and have decided to just focus on my CMI and gratitude. However, like Meghan, I feel as if I am "waiting" around for that inspired "nudge" in the right direction. Is there any advice anyone feels would be helpful? Thank you. |

Well Megan, To me, one of SOGR’s main focuses IS on daydreaming and feeling what it’s like to be living your Dream Come True Life. For example, this excerpt: “In the mental realm, enter at once into full enjoyment of the things you want. “Whatsoever things ye ask for when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them,” said Jesus. See the things you want as if they were actually around you all the time. See yourself as owning and using them. Make use of them in imagination just as you will use them when they are your tangible possessions. Dwell upon your mental picture until it is clear and distinct, and then take the mental attitude of ownership toward everything in that picture. Take possession of it, in mind, in the full faith that it is actually yours. Hold to this mental ownership. Do not waiver for an instant in the faith that it is real.” Wallace Wattles Seems to me, he’s telling us to daydream, and not in some slipshod way. It seems to me he's saying really get INTO it. “See the things you want as if they were actually around you all the time. See yourself as owning and using them.” What else is this, but high-powered, undiluted daydreaming and fantasizing? I was emphasizing this to a friend just last night. I said, FANTASIZE!! Make it up!! Imagine what it’d be like if you had millions, and no bills, and you’re in great shape, and you’re feeling great about yourself, and you have all the free time you want, and you don’t even need a job because you have multiple abundant streams of passive income. And you’re experiencing great friends and great relationships. How would you feel? How would you FEEL? And he gets this big smile on his face and says, “I see what you’re talking about.” Fyi, he didn’t SEE it so much as it was obvious he was beginning to FEEL it. This is why, when I read something like the following from someone who has ‘done it’ it helps ‘cement’ this idea into my mind and being. “Affirming, over and over, “I am now creating a successful career (or whatever) in an easy and relaxed manner, in a healthy and positive way” will, over time, overcome a huge number of your doubts and fears. I imagined myself, over and over — even way back when I was a total poverty case — living a life of ease, strolling around my big white house on a hill, with nothing to do, sitting on several million worth of assets. I visualized this repeatedly, and it came true in my life.” Marc Allen, self-made publishing multi-millionaire I say, daydream to your heart’s (your FEELINGS) content, because this kind of daydreaming is what really set ‘Law of Attraction’ in proper motion. “The Universe responds to how you feel.” Esther Hicks “Frequent occupancy of the feeling of the wish fulfilled is the secret of success." I think the ‘problem’ is either in HOW you’re focusing on your CMI, or your CMI is not really ‘your’ CMI. When you focus on your CMI, how do you feel? To me, your CMI, if it’s the right one for you, should have a bit of the ‘blowing your socks off’ feeling to it. Something like, “WOW!! If I had this, I’d be feeling TERRIFIC!!!” Or, if not TERRIFIC, then somehow sublime and ultra real, incredible, as in an expansive, peaceful, truly empowering way. Does your CMI feel like that to you? Phil "The Universe is responding to how we feel." Esther Hicks |

Since I don’t REALLY know how clear you are about your CMI, I can’t answer that. How clear are you? For example, it’s a typical Monday, and you’re living your CMI. What time do you wake up? What’s on your mind? What are you thinking? An hour or two after you’ve awakened, what are you doing now? A few more hours into your day, what are you doing? It’s the afternoon, maybe 4 or 5. What are you doing? How do you spend the evening? Now it’s Tuesday. Same kinds of questions. What time do you wake up? What do you do when you get up? Etc. And Wednesday. Thursday. Friday. Etc. I’m just trying to see how clear you are with your CMI. You say you want a business. Are you sure? If so, what function(s) do you play in the business? It is a one person business? If not, what do you do? What do the others do? What kind of people are they? What kind of person are you? Phil "The Universe is responding to how we feel." Esther Hicks |

Some days I can't get excited about it & other days I am. It's never consistent. Megan |

Mind-Blowingly Wonderful Contributor |
Megan, Are you consistent in HOW you think about your CMI? HOW you focus on your CMI will give you the emotional experience you have of it. Let me explain. If you think of what you really want, but also think you won’t have it, you won’t feel good. If you just think about what it would actually be like to be living your CMI, then you will always feel good. How would you feel, IF you already had plenty of money, no bills, and plenty of free time? And also, you’re in excellent health, and have overcome any self esteem issues and you’re feeling great about yourself? And also, you’re living where you want to live, in the style you want to be living? And, you virtually have your pick of whatever kind of relationship(s) you want to be in? How would you feel IF this were already your life? You’d feel wonderful. But, how do you feel if you dwell on, “Well, maybe I won’t ever have it.”? You won't feel good. So, you need to CHOOSE how you’re going to think about your CMI. It seems to take a good amount of courage, to think of one’s CMI in ways that allow one to feel good. “Courage is the first of human qualities because it is the quality that guarantees all the others.” Winston Churchill You need to train yourself to consistently think and feel positively about your CMI. “In the mental realm, enter at once into full enjoyment of the things you want. Do not waiver for an instant in the faith that it is real.” - Wallace Wattles ‘The Science of Getting Rich’ Or, as Rebecca has suggested, if any of this seems too hard, forget it, and just find ANYTHING to FEEL GOOD about. (That's really all you need to do.) Phil "The Universe is responding to how we feel." Esther Hicks |

Starbwoy, I wanted to reply to your question in another way. Please look at your question in detail. When you ask about giving “it some time” what is this ‘it’ that you are referring to? If by ‘it’ you mean your subconscious, your Higher Self, or the Universe, or Source, then yes, sometimes it’s good to give ‘it’ time. Very often, we need to allow unseen forces to ‘arrange’ things. We need to ‘wait’ but then, we need to be attentive to HOW we wait, or how we EXPERIENCE the waiting. Let me explain. What do you do while you’re ‘waiting’ for Source to respond? You COULD ‘wait’ in such a way as to become impatient, or feel frustrated. If you get to where you’re feeling frustrated it just means you’ve unwittingly been feeding the belief that nothing is happening, or nothing is happening for the manifestation of what you want. But notice this: Any unpleasant feelings you could have from ‘waiting’ are not due to ‘waiting.’ They would be the result of contemplating the possibility of failing, while you’ve been waiting. So, feeling frustrated or impatient are signs you are using your creative power counterproductively. Feeling these feelings means you’ve actually been forming mental obstacles between you and what you want. On the other hand, if while you are waiting, your feelings are becoming more positive, it means you are fueling the creation of having what you want. If you think about things in such ways so that you're feel better, more fulfilling feelings while you wait, you are actually creating your alignment with what you want, making what you want come to you more easily and effortlessly. When you’re in the ‘waiting’ mode you need to stay attentive to how you are feeling, in each of your present moments, and as you go from one circumstance to another, or as you encounter or interact with one person and then another, and also how you feel whenever you are alone. I believe you serve your interests when you use your ‘waiting time’ to make yourself more and more harmonious and in alignment to what you want. To me, there is an art to 'waiting' and to aligning to what one wants. For example, when you get everything you want, you will need to be a certain kind of person. If you aren’t, you either won’t keep it, or you will struggle with having or keeping it. Knowing this, you could be using your ‘waiting time’ to do whatever inner work, character, skill or knowledge development, that would help assure you are the person you need to be, to sustain, enjoy and expand on having what you want. You could be using your current, present circumstances and experiences to mold yourself, more and more, into the kind of person who can sustain and handle the level of success, wealth, happiness and abundance you want. What kind of person are you now? Are you easily irritated or disappointed, or are you calm, resolute, kind, constructive, resilient, resourceful and optimistic? Can you see that the kind of person you are will go a long way towards determining both whether or not you manifest what you want, and also, whether or not you enjoy and can maintain having what you want? In any ‘waiting’ period, the Universe will give you plenty of so-called challenges. These experiences will often seem to be counter to what you’ve stated you want. But, the Universe is always acting on our behalf. The challenges that come our way are purposeful and meaningful. They serve to provide you with the conditions or experiences you need, so you have the opportunity to develop into the kind of person you need to be, that can actually have and enjoy having what you want. Everything we experience is purposeful. And their purpose is to enable us to actually have what we really want. I hope this sheds some light on ‘giving it some time’ and what you could do with that time. Phil "The Universe is responding to how we feel." Esther Hicks |
