Wally says if I want a sewing machine, I'm not to impress the thought on Formless & then sit down & wait for it to appear. He also talks about the proper use of 'will' and says I'ts not my job to try & foce Formless to give me anything, my job is to impress on Formless.
Does t his mean I live mentally in my cmi while just going about my daily work, acting in the 'certain way' and just KNOW opportunities for my cmi will present themselves, or am I suppose to always take some action that I think will move me closer to what I want? Fo example, I want to move to this beautiful 1 bedroom apt in this upscale area of town. I don't make enough money to pay that kind of rent yet. So do I start looking for a better paying job, or do I just stay at my job doing the best I can every day, always giving more in use value to my employer, and being grateful I do have this job? I'm cionfused about what, if any 'action' steps I should be taking, or is just continuing to focus on living in this beautiful apt., really seeing myself already living there, the 'action' I'm suppose to stay with. Any help is appreciated!! Megan |

Why not do both if the idea of a new job appeals to you? What's your CMI of the job you'd really love to have? Marinate yourself in that as well as seeing yourself enjoying your new apartment, and take the action steps that appear to you and feel good. Generally, I find that when I REALLY get into the imagining of something wonderful, it would be pretty hard to STOP myself from moving toward it, taking some action step. And then another ... It's FUN. Sitting around just waiting (which is useless) or taking action out of fear or worry generally is NOT fun. Pay attention to your feelings. They tell you when you're on-target in your thinking and when you're not. Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Rebecca |

Both. If you feel inspired to look for another job do so. When he says dont sit there and wait for it to happen its like if you want a job you cant sit at home watching tv. Of course while watching tv you may get an idea for a job opportunity but continue filling your space and if you get inspired to put in an application for another job do it.

Thanks Capt., I'm not 'inspired' to look for another job, I just think that unless I get a higher paying job, I won't be able to move to a better place. Some say this is me trying to determine the 'HOW' of moving to this new apt.
That's what confuses me. I guess I'm suppose to forget about HOW it will happen & wait until 'insipred action' comes to me, right? Megan |

Megan, There you go, talking about ‘waiting’ again. If you just do that, your circumstances won’t change much. They won’t change much because your thoughts, beliefs and feelings won’t have changed much. You can create drastic positive change, simply by making significant important changes in what you think and believe. Or, you can sit around and “wait until 'inspired action' comes to me.” You know, this is about the third or forth time you’ve talked about sitting around and waiting for the inspiration to hit you. So, I have the famous ‘Dr. Phil’ (not me, the TV Dr. Phil) question: How’s that working for you? Learn or teach yourself to think like a winner, think like someone who’s going to triumph, and you’ll tend to get that result. Think like a loser, and you’ll tend to get that result. And who’s determining what and how you think, and therefore how you feel? Only you. It’s always only you. Phil "The Universe is responding to how we feel." Esther Hicks |

To me the confusion comes from the definition of "action."
Are thoughts about something enough "action?" Or does one have to do something physically? Or do both have to be combined to be considered "action?" I do understand the difference between "inspired action" vs "competitive plane action"...at least I thought I did! Hi Meghan, You'll know when the action is the right action to take when you do so from a feeling of inner peace. As Rebecca says, you do NOT want to take action when you are feeling fear or worry, so DO pay attention to how you are feeling. If I am in a state of fear or worry, I do EFT, get right with myself, and THEN take action if I still feel a need. Feeling peace first, before taking any action, for me is critical. So Julia, when you first move into a feeling of peace, isn't that taking "inspired action" in itself?

Hi Laura,
Yes, it is indeed! From that place, I have found that Creativity can really flow. Once Creativity flows, I get ideas. "Once I learned to herd cats, I realized that ANYTHING is possible..." Julia Passamonti-Colamartino http://venetiancat.com |

My understanding of this is, ‘seeing’ it is much less effective than ‘feeling’ it. FEEL the glorious feelings of what it’s like to be living where you want to live. “Frequent occupancy of the feeling of the wish fulfilled is the secret of success." ~ Neville Goddard – The Power of Awareness “Your feelings create the pattern from which your world is fashioned, and a change of feeling is a change of pattern. The subconscious never fails to express that which has been impressed upon it. The moment it receives an impression it begins to work out the ways of its expression. It accepts the feeling impressed upon it, your feeling, as a fact existing within itself and immediately sets about to produce in the outer or objective world the exact likeness of that feeling. The subconscious never alters the accepted beliefs of man – it out-pictures them to the last detail whether or not they are beneficial. To impress the subconscious with the desirable state you must assume the feeling that would be yours had you already realized your wish. In defining your objective you must be concerned only with the objective itself. The manner of expression or the difficulties involved are not to be considered by you. To think feelingly on any state impresses it on the subconscious.” Neville Goddard in ‘Feeling is the Secret’ “Tending to your own thoughts and feelings and letting yourself become the perfect match to your desires brings you joy and peace. And I promise you that your own joy and peace are the keys to everything -- EVERYTHING -- you want, for yourself and others.” Rebecca Fine But now, elsewhere you said that you have a low image or yourself. So, let’s suppose you manifest living in this wonderful place you want to be living. Are you then just going to be someone with a low sense of self, living in beautiful surroundings? Is that what you want? I’m going to say it again: Your life will conform to your thoughts, beliefs and feelings. And only YOU determine what these are. Maybe you’d benefit from watching a couple videos on this site below. “Are You In Control Of Your Life?” and “You Deserve The Best” a message from Reverend Ike. http://www.boldthoughts.com/ Phil "The Universe is responding to how we feel." You may be "in action" by DOING whatever it is that gets you to that better-feeling place.
Generally, though, when Wally or I talk about action, we mean something external, physical. Some sort of MOVEMENT that is in the direction of your CMI(s). As for seeing and feeling, well, if you visualize (see) something really clearly to the point that you FEEL it strongly, as if it's real, then that's fantastic. When that happens it means your thoughts are aligned with your dream/CMI. If you're not a particularly visual person, that feeling may be generated some other way. But in the end it all comes down to how you're thinking. You can't feel wonderful when you're thinking awful thoughts. Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Rebecca |

well, for me, expecting success wouldn't do much good unless I believe I can succeed. I can expect good grades for example, but unless I took inspired actions to study and prepare well, I am only doing a part of Wally's success philosophy. As Rebecca and many others have mentioned, when you think thoughts that allow peace and happiness to shine, the action part actually becomes quite apparent. You cannot not take action towards your dream. Megan,
I think it helps to understand that there is more to feeling good than just feeling good. Feeling good (or feeling however you feel) is an attractive, magnetic, harmonizing or ‘pulling’ force. However you feel draws to you experiences, thoughts, ideas and conditions that match the feeling. So, when you get yourself to where you’re feeling good you are actually creating – both within and outside yourself -- the things to feel good about – the good conditions, good experiences, good ideas, good choices, etc. – that you want. Here are a couple of excerpts from an Abraham-Hicks video (the link to it is below). It may help you get comfortable with the idea of working to feel good. “How does one go about achieving vibrational harmony with well being? Well, little by little you reach for thoughts that feel good. In other words, it is an incremental thing. You did not get to the place of ‘not letting it in’ completely overnight. In other words it was one thought that you picked up along your physical trail at a time. So, for the most part, we encourage you just pick up more thoughts that feel good.” (8:38 – 9:03) “You have to be ‘selfish’ enough to say, “Nothing is more important than I feel good.” A good mantra is, “Today, no matter where I’m going, no matter what I’m doing, no matter who I’m doing it with, it is my dominant intent to look for that which I’m wanting to see. I’m wanting to look for that which makes me feel good when I see it.” And as you begin to be a more deliberate selective sifter, where you look for things to appreciate, or you look for things to compliment on, or you look for things to bask about, you look for reasons to feel good; as you look for reasons to feel good, you find reasons to feel good. And as you find reasons to feel good, you feel good, and as you feel good, you let it in. As you feel good you let clarity in. As you feel good you let abundance and well being – abundance of all things you consider good – you let in.” (9:04 – 9:52) Abraham-Hicks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12BhS22ZySA Try this little exercise. Say to yourself, “I feel WONDERFUL.” Then use your imagination and actually FEEL what it’s like to feel wonderful. If need be, pretend your way to a wonderful feeling. Just make it up. Just allow yourself to FEEL WONDERFUL. Go ahead and do this little exercise for a minute or two. Then come back and read on. Now, as you’re in a ‘wonderful’ feeling, ask yourself if it’s easier for you to believe things will work out? Is it easier to believe you are lovely or lovable? Is it easier to believe you can have the relationships you really want? Is it easier to believe you deserve a wonderful life? It is, isn’t it? Didn’t even your breathing naturally change and get deeper? You didn’t have to force it. It just happened. Changing how you feel actually changes the chemistry and capacity in both your body and brain. Now, can you sense more of the PRACTICALITY of acting on purpose to feel good feelings? Feeling good feelings naturally aligns you with good thoughts, good ideas, a good outlook and hence better reactions to others or whatever are your challenges. “I feel wonderful, and I deserve a wonderful life.” Put that thought somewhere you can see it often. Then, read it, and practice FEELING it. Now you are aligning yourself to your true potential and the life you really want. And you absolutely are worthy and deserving of it. You are a Child of God. Allow yourself to truly love and value yourself. “Be your own best friend.” Oprah Phil "The Universe is responding to how we feel." Esther Hicks |

I once wanted to buy a house that, at the time, thought I couldn't afford yet I visualized living there in as much detail as I could. This went on for a year and a half....visualizing, dreaming, etc. One day I decided I would start buying things to help decorate the house..small things..a set of decorative plates for the kitchen, etc and starting packing them in a box for my "move". Long story short, almost immeadiately afterward, a series of amazing events began to take place..chance meetings, phone calls, etc and within 3 months I was moving into the house..and had bought it at a price I could easily afford. That amazing series of events taught me something I have never forgotten..and reminds me often of Mr Wattles words regarding action... "You cannot foresee the results of even the most trivial act; you do not know the workings of all the forces that have been set moving in your behalf. Much may be depending on your doing some simple act; it may be the very thing which is to open the door of opportunity to very great possibilities. You can never know all the combinations which Supreme Intelligence is making for you in the world of things and of things and of human affairs; your neglect or failure to do some small thing may cause a long delay in getting what you want. - SOGR, Ch. 12 I am now a firm believer in taking some action in the direction of your dreams..no matter how small it may seem at the time. I believe God, the Universe, Formless (whatever you choose to call it) will arrange things to have your dreams manifest in your life, but you have to be the one to make the first move in the direction of your goals. Thank you for reading this post.
The universe and everything in it is trully amazing I too agree you must take steps to make your clear mental image happen ie the coins will not mine themselves and come rolling down the mountain and fill your pockets it is also written (not by wally) the lord or supreme being or the universe whatever you want to call it helps those who help themselves. |

I think so long as the action/steps you are taking doesn't feel like work or a hassle to do than you are on the right track. I've just been given a months notice that I need to find another place to live. My flatmate is leaving town for a new job. I kinda got stressed at the idea of finding another place to live as the last time I had to move, it seemed like a big hassle. I decided to tell myself and others around me when the topic came up that I would just let it all fall into place this time. Anyway, yesterday I mentioned to my neighbour that we were leaving and I was going to find a place to rent for just a few months as I'm going away on holidays over winter, to which she replies, "oh, a friend of mine just asked me the other day if I knew of anyone looking to rent a room for a few months as she's got one!"
So no action at all other than engaging in a friendly conversation with my neighbour! It was all presented right to me! So feeling good really is the first action step you need to take. I made myself stop feeling down and anxious about the idea of having to move and looked for the good points in it. Without doing that first, I would have created a real struggle for myself.
