I just wanted to ask a simple question.

What are some of the vehicles being used (anyone in the SOGR forum) to get rich.

I'm not talking about higher level stuff. I'm talking about real time day to day providing service for money stuff.

Just curious.

So I'm just curious. What is your clear picture of how selling houses will make you rich?

How long have you been doing this and has it already made you rich?

I have seen many profound and useful writings in this forum over the last 2 months from those who have responded to my first question.

When I started to get your answers I was a little surprised at the scarcity of words.

I'm not sure how I would have replied to this question because I don't have a clear enough picture of how I am cultivating step by step the process of getting rich in real time not in thought time.

It's just something that I noticed about the forum and I thought maybe it was something to be poked and proded.

Along with our spiritual thoughtful road map - "context to live our lives from" what exactly are our real time road maps.

I'm still very confronted and working on mine. It has something to do with tapping into this "SOGR context" - sharing this incredable gift so that anyone who dares to take the journey with us will collecively experience real time success now - in a big way - unrealistically - so there is no misunderstanding from where this success comes.

Something like that and I'm still working on the road map.

Thanks for sharing your thougts on a subject that might be hard to share - your personal dreams (thoughts you would want to become real in the next 3 minutes)

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Ernie

Thanks for the questions you posted and your comments. Initially you asked a "simple question" on a "day to day providing service for money stuff" becasue you said you were "Just curious."

I responded with a simple answer.

Now that you have asked a different question, or should I say an explaination of what you were "really" asking, let me respond to that.

I have many a dreams (like most of us do), and one of my dreams is to own, and I mean outright personally and individually own 100% shares of Pizza Hut. The Pizza Hut is currently worth Billions of dollars. For someone who is deeply in debt and having trouble meeting monthly obligations of everyday living, materializing this dream would not be any less than "Miraculous." (The kind that you are talking about, I think)

Let's put this in perspective. Is there any billionaire alive today, who set out creating his/her billions with an EXACT "road map"? I seriously doubt it. Following a road map requires someone who has been from Point A to point B and has prepared the record of how to reproduce the result. Doing so requires no creative energy. Just follow along the map and you will get there. I don't think the people on this forum are followers. Big Grin We are the ones who want "to boldly go where no man has gone before."

I do not know of a road map that would enable me to raise - earn and save - billions of dallars in "real time." So how do I intend to do it? By following the creative method set forth in SOGR. The last paragraph of the book simply sums it up this way.

"The men and women who practice the foregoing instructions will certainly get rich, and the riches they receive will be in exact proportion to the definiteness of their vision, the fixity of their purpose, the steadiness of their faith, and the depth of their gratitude." (my choice of bold script) You will find it interesting that the above statement does not mention anything about following a road map.

On the contrary, Mr. Wattles is very clear when he says:

"It is not your part to guide or supervise the creative process."

"The scientific use of thought consists in forming a clear and distinct mental image of what you want, in holding fast to your purpose to get what you want, and in realizing with grateful
faith that you do get what you want.

Do not try to "project" your thought in any mysterious or occult way, with the idea of having it go out and do things for you. That is wasted effort and will weaken your power to think with sanity."

"Act now. There is never any time but now, and there never will be any time but now. If you are ever to begin to make ready for the reception of what you want, you must begin NOW.

And your action, whatever it is, must most likely be in your present business or employment, and must be upon the persons and things in your present environment."

"Do not spend any time in day dreaming or castle building; hold to the one vision of what you want, and act NOW.

Do not cast about, seeking some new thing to do or some strange, unusual, or remarkable action to perform as a first step toward getting rich. It is probable that your actions, at least for some time to come, will be the same ones you have been performing for some time past, but you are to begin now to perform these actions in the certain way, which will surely make you rich."

"Hold the vision of yourself in the right business, with the purpose to get into it and the faith that you will get into it and are getting into it, but ACT in your present business. Use your present business as the means of getting a better one, and use your present environment as the means of getting into a better one. Your vision of the right business, if held with faith and purpose, will cause the supreme power to move the right business toward you. And your action, if performed in the certain way, will cause you
to move toward the business."

"Your vision and faith will set the creative force in motion to bring it toward you, and your action will cause the forces in your own environment to move you toward the place you want."

I guess this is as profound as I am going to get about having a road map and day to day real time service for money issue. And it is all borrowed from Mr. Wattles.

Be Different, Be Yourself.
I am Grateful for being both.

Ernie,
Selling houses is a means to an end for me. I do get paid well but my idea of being rich means that I will no longer work for money... (i.e. no longer trading my time for money on a routine basis)

My life is enriched greatly by selling houses. I DO enjoy helping people get homes as this seems to be very important to most people. (Ironically, it's not important to ME to have a home... but that's another story). I also enjoy supporting the company I work for. The people who own the company are good people and that gives me satisfaction. I enjoy being capable of something that many people are curious about...

So I sell houses because I enjoy it and because I make enough money to build up capital for real estate investment. The manifestation that is headed my way is the ownership of one or more quality commercial properties in the area.

Hope this helps,
bronwen

I own a website design and hosting company. A couple of friends and I are working on a business plan for a computer recycling company.

I see a lot of opptunities in business even here in a small town that is losing jobs.

If you are thinking about starting a business read E-Myth Revisted and the Rich Dad, Poor Day. Both deal with the aspects of starting a business, not creating a job.

The way I currently make money is soooo varied.

1. I'm a computer instructor part-time at our local technical college
2. I also teach meditation and breathing techniques classes at that same college
3. I have a published book that brings in money from sales from my publishers as well as on my web site.
4. I record audio CDs (my newest is a meditation CD) that I sell on my web site.
5. I'm a Reiki master, and charge for Reiki sessions, as well as classes on teaching Reiki I atunements to practitioners.
6. I do auctions (have for MANY years), to sell old books and tapes, etc. I average a sale or two a week
7. I do affiliate programs, such as what Rebecca has on this web site too. I recently received a $75 check simply for having that link on my website and a guy signed up for their course and the $75 is my referral fee.
8. I teach computers in a tutoring one-on-one way in people's homes for $75 an hour. Have one regular student now at one hour per week and go in and fix hardware, etc. sporadically when people call me, for the same business.

Hmmmm, is that it? LOL Oh, and I get a very small child support for my son...(I'm changing the wording of that... I get a child support check for my son, and am thankful for it and allow even more financial abundance for my ex and I as well) and I get paid to sing with my family from time to time when we get booked a singing program.... I think that might be it for now. Smile

Whoops, I forgot, and I also host a Friday evening meditation class that I got together, where we all meet in the Goodwill community room and I charge $3 per head for us to all sit and meditate together for 45 minutes. I also do a book discussion after for anyone who wishes to stay, for an additional $5 a head (we're currently doing The Darkside of Lightchasers, but will be doing THIS book when we're done with that one!) I hope to bring Rebecca many more people to this site because of the added exposure.

I currently have a "day job" where I get to manage a team of Project Mgrs and Business Analysts.

I have stocks and mutual funds that routinely pay dividends.

I am in the midst of writing two books that will contribute to my financial success.

I help my husband with his brand management company, bringing high end apparel (Hilfiger, Nike, Lacoste) to the corporate market.

And I give money on a regular basis to keep it circulating.

T

I was reading the post from 2003, I am new this community. Yes, I do want to be rich but I feel we need to stay on tract and realize that being rich i smore than having more money. Its piece of mind at night because your children are safe, its having a loving husband to hold, grandson who adores you. I know that adding money to the mix will help me help my family and I thank God right now for all the money that coming my way, the great business i will have, th ebeautiful cloths I will wear and th emercedes I will drive, a C class by the way.But I know until I become content with little I will not get the much. So we need to stop focusing on when & how but just be gratful fo now.

Forum members who talk about being financially rich ARE staying on track.

If you find that you're uncomfortable with the idea of wealth, you'll have a difficult time attracting it to you (or getting it to stick around!).

I would agree with you that many things add to the overall success in our lives, such as having loving relationships. I would also agree that we do not need to concern ourselves with the HOW and should stay in a state of gratitude. Being grateful for each penny/dollar/Euro you have today will draw more to you to be grateful for.

It is not wrong to expect financial success...

Regards,
T

What will I use to get rich?

Currently my wife and I have a small computer consulting business.

When I am active in the stock market using swing trading, I do quite well.

I have a couple of investments in small businesses that will provide a handy gains in a short time.

I am just putting the finishing touches on a book of fiction, In the planning process of another fiction story, and of a couple of non-fiction books.

We are also in the planning stages of another small business and an associated internet business.

We are co-owners of a mixed residential-commercial property that will provide a handsome profit in a couple of years. In the past four years, the value of the property has more than doubled.

I think the internet will provide the greatest source of riches.
