When I got my free copy of sogr I read it faithfully I even ordered the cd and listen to it during my morning and evening commuute Smile in the car. But I wanted to tell everyone that I stopped watching the news, I was a CNN junkie it was constantly on in my home. I also stopped listening to my morning talk radio show. And all I can say is it is the the single best thing I have done for myself. I feel so much happier not filling my head with all of the nonsense.

It makes a nice break to be sure. I am not sure its all nonsense, but there is so much that we aren't even sure is true by the time it gets distorted by the media. Who knows what we are really worrying our pretty little heads with?

I applaud you for that. For some people giving up the 24 hour news cycle is like giving up crack or alcohol. And in my opinion it is about as good for you as either of those. I catch the morning news to get the weather, I get the headlines from the internet and thats about it for the news with me as well. i find that most of the stuff talked about on there, whether i agree or not gives me stress that I just don't need and it inverably puts me in a negative thought space ... which is exactly opposite of where I want to be.

Watching the news i for one see it as a waste of time. Why sit and stare at a television when you can be doing more enjoyable things.
