I truly beleive in a world of plenty and abundance Smile. I'd like to know how some of you deal with (or have dealt with) a work environment that focuses on market share, getting your fair share, beating the competition and so on.

As I form my CMI of the life and company I will soon launch, the voices of competition and scarcity seem to be everywhere.

How have each of you wished "more life to all"to those who scream scarcity, lack and competition?

Hi Ron,

A warm welcome from a friend just north of the border.

I commend you on your attitude. What I find to be helpful is to focus 100% of my efforts on what I can control & let go of what I can not. I can't contol nor should I try to how others think, feel or act. I have complete control over my own actions, thoughts & beliefs. As long as you are thinking and acting in a certain way-everything will work out to your benefit. Realizing that is not mere dreaming or hoping but is in fact LAW, has helped me tremendously.

I'm in a sales oriented field of work, and yes, most people do possess a competitive mindset. Giving up trying to change others has been challenging, and I'm CERTAIN it leaves me in the monority, but that's ok, in fact it's more than ok.

Studying this book and taking this course, have also opened my awareness to the fact, that reqardless of whether others are acting competitively, I can always choose, in this moment to act creatively & with gratitude. I can always choose to offer more in use value than I receive in cash value. "More life to all".

This lesson alone is creating a huge shift in my life, and is an extremely practical & most definitely profitable application of the teachings of SOGR. I'm not as tied into whether people will accept, approve, or buy into me and my services. I will certainly attract the right customers and so will you.

Be grateful to your teachers. Often I feel that we are being tested to see if we really are prepared "to put our money wee are mouth is"... It is easy to think and act in a certain way when things are rosy. Can you do it when life throws you a cruve ball?

"Forget about them and focus on you".

Cheers,

Coach mark,

Ron,

I too have been in sales for a long time. About 20 years ago I made the discovery that the root of the word competition means "to strive for together". Really. Look it up.

So I decided right then that I had no competition as currently defined, but only fellow salespeople who had just as much right to a good living as me. At the same time I decided to approach my customers as a brother, with love and concern for their well being.

I didn't talk about this to anyone for quite awhile because I knew they'd all think I was nuts. It was interesting. Some customers dropped away to go to my "competitors", but most stayed with me and new ones came to give me some of my best years ever.

The fact is your boss only cares about results. If you provide good results he won't care how you obtain them. (legally, of course) Just don't talk about it with anyone and you can live happily and well doing it the SOGR way.

By the way, the competitor who caused this shift left his job due to ethical violations and I became quite friendly with his replacement and the other "competitors" in my market. We all did well.

Hi. I have also found that, by minding my own business and focusing on the thoughts I want to cultivate, the scarcity thinkers either drop out of my life or start talking and acting differently, without my having said a thing to them. When I find myself in a negative environment, I remove myself if I can or at least avoid participating in any scarcity/competitive conversation.

In my language, which is Danish (no comments on any drawings, plaseRed Face) we have borrowed a french word for competition: concurrence, which might mean "flowing together" or "in the same flow", I think. haven´t looked it up, just a fast translation.

Greetings!

I was involved in a highly competitive environment that tried to pass itself off as a cooperative one. I stood by my ideals and did what I could to help my clients until such time as a door opened for me to leave. Until that time, however, the stress of trying to change the environment to a truly cooperative one was enough to make me ill. If I'm ever faced with that again, I will avoid it if possible, but I certainly will not try to change the people involved.
