It also occurred to me that making full use of what you already have is a way of making room for new wealth. This may sound a little backwards, but what got me thinking about this was the following from SOGR:

quote:

Original substance wants to live all that is possible in you, and wants you to have all that you can use and will use for the living of the most abundant life.
(italics mine)

One of my old beliefs has been "If I don't have everything I need, I might as well not have anything I need." Isn't that a horrible thing to believe? This resulted in me having a nice house with a lot of "stuff" in it that wasn't getting used or appreciated. Now it's no wonder to me that it's been so difficult to obtain new wealth - I wasn't making use of what I already had.

For example, my art studio has been getting more and more crowded, and that's been making it more and more difficult to produce much work. But since I thought the only solution was a bigger studio, I didn't do much to try to improve my existing studio.

A couple of weeks ago, after reading the above quote (plus another one which I can't locate at the moment), I realized that making better use of what I do have is my way of communicating to OS that I can - and will - use more.

I bought some new shelves and bins, and reorganized the space. When it was finished, it was almost as though I did have a bigger studio. Not only I could see the floor again, but my work is flowing much more effortlessly. Yeah, the bigger studio is coming, but I'm convinced that this was a necessary step towards getting it.

I am fairly new, but as I look back to the interrupution of the SOGR, (back to the beginning of the story of the person not knowing what he should do, buy a new house or fix up the old and stay there!) Well, I think that you should sit down and write out all that you would want in a house (like your dream home)and don't settle and then ask for it, and let the universe start moving things around to fulfill your request while you are steady doing the action of whatever you are doing. I got of it that you don't worry about it and you give thanks that it will be done. My understanding is to be very clear as to what you want. The Universe has to know what you want. My advice to someone is don't settle, Ask for what you really want and you know it will be given to you! I have decided, I'm settling any more its going to be what I want. This is the whole point, I think, to the SOGR.

Your thoughts!!!!!

Oh Kate, I'd love to see before and after shots of the studio, and I'd love to see your work :-)

You can see some of my work on my web site. There are also some older photos of my studio there as well, on the "about kl" page... taken before it really started to get crowded. I'll snap some new photos and post them there soon.

Thanks very much for the kind words about my work. I haven't really made much money with it so far - what amounts to just "egg money" - but to me it has been rewarding enough in itself to make it worth doing.

...but we digress! Big Grin

Since this discussion began, I have made a number of changes around my house, not only to help me clarify my mental image of what my house will be like when all the new stuff arrives, and also to take the initial steps in receiving it.

At some point, I decided, when the new living room set gets here, the couch will go "over by that wall". Then it occurred to me, why not just put the existing couch there now? By the same time the next day, the whole room had been rearranged! And now when I walk in the room, it doesn't leave much to the imagination how it's going to look, and I can easily imagine that it's that way already.

I believe that making room for new wealth involves taking all the steps towards receiving it that can be taken:
- making any choices and decisions that are possible to make,
- making room for it physically, and of course,
- making room for it emotionally by allowing those feelings of gladness for what you have and are in the process of receiving,
- making full use, with sincere gratitude, of what you already have.

So how about turning that around a bit?
