Kristian,

I would like to thank you for the courage to ask your question concerning success stories. I have been reluctant to ask questions because I fear that I might be misconstrued or sound stupid. I have had those same thoughts and have also looked for similar stories--- or just positive reinforcement when fear or worry starts to show it's ugly head. I sincerely try to apply all the principles and have faith and conviction. When I truly think I'm on the right track, something happens and I get scared. I don't get scared that it doesn't work; I get scared that I'm not doing it right--

I am uplifted and renewed when I read stories and comments from others. Sometimes it as though they were reading my mind, connecting with my soul, and allowing me to see the light at the end of the tunnel where there is no visible light.

My computer skills are challenged. My 4 yr old daughter and 9 year old son navigate the computer better than I do. I have invested hours of time trying to search for things which take some a mere moment. I, too, am not looking for anyone to do my work for me. Rather, a suggestion to point me in the right direction.

I have benefited so much from reading the success stories. Thank you. I look forward to reading about your success story as well.

with much gratitude, Jackie

Hi,

I am in the process of becoming rich. Wink It took me three tries before I could even get the download of this book to work! Talk about the Universe testing my resolve!
Thank goodness, I passed this little test. I am on my fourth read now of SOGR.

I am a stay at home mother right now and am working on my MA/PhD degrees so that I can charge more money for my hypnosis and counseling practice that I intend to start up again very soon.

So, I don't really have an "income" at all right now. But I have had signposts along the way: I found a penny after reading the book for three days. The tiniest amount of encouragement! You know what I did? I smiled alot and thanked God and the Universe that I am being taken care of.
My biggest financial concern that bothers me the most these days is the situation my mother and grandmother are in. When I fantasize about having money and being rich, I think about first sending them a check every month. Then I dream of the land, the house, the jewelry, the phenomenally successful business(es!) I intend to start up as soon as our house sells here. (And I work on improving this house and keeping it clean as often as humanly possible... trying to outgrow my space!)
So imagine my surprise when my mother calls me and tells me that (incidentally since I started reading this book!): 1. The power company will be giving her a credit because a lady stranger helped her fill out some forms she just happened to have with her... and also that: 2. My mother again ran into the mysterious stranger who helped her get a rental rebate for seniors from the state of California! A brand new program this month! My mother was thrilled a week ago when she said that they'd have 128 dollars more every month and won't be short on bills anymore!
Well, my mom said that the program with the power company was nice and that they had a credit, so it would only come out to two months' worth of power, but it would help her for 2 months.
Last night, my mother called me to say that she got a check in the mail from the state government for 160 dollars! Thirty dollars more than she hoped for. Also, the power company would be sending her a check also.

Then my best friend (whom I've been telling about SOGR) calls to say that she'd been wondering how she'd be able to pay for a weekend festival she had her heart set on. Within an hour, she got a call from her old boss and went to work that night, making all but 16 dollars of the festival cost. She attributes this to me and my positive thinking because I told her to start being grateful that God allows her to make money and have money.

Remember when Mr. Wattles said that basically we will have the power to make others rich by the power of our own thoughts and acting in the certain way? That we will bring others up with us when we use our creative mind?

Wow! It is true.

Also, I told my 4 year old daughter about this and how we ARE rich. Because I make her aware of feeling grateful for our being rich and to always love others (her way of understanding gratitude), she finds money every day. In a few short days, she is 35 cents richer. (A month ago, the neighbors brought over a swingset for her for free, so she is already a whiz at manifesting! She saved up her Christmas and birthday money for over 2 years for this, and then got it for free. Here is a lesson for us all: she never once doubted that she'd have her own swingset, she knew it would happen and was happy about it.)

Back now to my own story. Okay so I find a penny. Universe testing me. I am grateful! Three days later, a neighbor came over and handed me five dollars out of the blue. Okay, am grateful again. Still wondering how my husband will be able to afford a birthday gift for me, but I tell him that I am grateful for him, for his love and all his help everyday in raising our kids.
He asks me what I want for my birthday. I answer: "you!" (Do you have a big red bow to wrap around yourself? haha!)
The next day, I decide that I have to stop worrying about our house selling and my careers (!) and give my mind a rest. We all go outside together and my husband and I are watching the kids play on their swingset. A wonderful warm sunny day. I begin to feel good, very grateful and feel that somehow, my life will completely work out.
Ten minutes later my husband reaches down to scratch his leg and we had an "OhMiGod!" moment. At his feet was the most beautiful and very old Victorian Era (or at least Victorian style) 24 carat gold necklace! It was a gorgeous blue stone in a golden filigree setting. I looked it up on the internet and it is a sodalite stone, a denim blue colored stone with white markings. When I held my new necklace up to the pictures on the internet for comparison, I noticed that when I turn this sideways, the exact shape of a little angel is readily apparent there. What a *coincidence*!
The only thing missing was the clasp, so my husband could afford to fix this and thus, he "bought" me the best birthday gift ever! It is absolutely the kind of jewelry I'd buy for myself, it was just like it was made for me. And in a place where we'd mowed, and walked at least hundreds of times over the past 4 years!

I can only imagine what will happen next: I will be rich soon! Smile I already feel so blessed.

I already have gotten a few things I thought about without even really trying hard. (money for Mom, jewelry...)

I know that this isn't the best story on this board, but I've only been at it around 3 weeks.

When I make it big, I will let everyone know so that I can inspire others. So many people have already inspired me on this board and I am grateful to each and every one of you for it. We are all getting rich!

I made out little "business" cards directing people to this website and to the greatest book I've ever read: SOGR! I hand them out to people I know and those I don't. My way of giving back already what I've received. I also use the window cards in my car and also taped to the wall behind my bathroom mirrors. So when I brush my teeth at night or in the morning (while in a light state of natural hypnosis, and thus, "programmable"!), I see these messages floating above my head, and I feel great reading them!

Thank you Rebecca for everything! I recommend the SOGR to everyone on my email list and am now an affiliate. I feel things happening. It is a great feeling.

Alanna (hypfox)

PS. I know that Mr. Wattles said that money won't coin itself and just roll on down the street into your pocket, but I do have another curious sidenote: My husband seems to have a *magic* pair of shorts. Three times this month while wearing this particular pair of shorts, he just suddenly had more money in his pocket than he put there! I mean wads of five dollar bills. Three times he was able to pay for unexpected expenses: meals, groceries, gas money. This happened after I started reading and applying this program. It works just like magic! I am totally amazed. And grateful.

Dear Natalie and Laurie,

Thank you both so much for your sweet replies regarding my little stories.

You are both very kind. Big Grin

I forgot to mention a couple of other neat coincidences that happened also...
we were able to sign up the *only* week that a special was available thorugh our phone company. This cut our bill in half at least as it is one flat rate fee for local and long distance combined. The law changed a week later and it isn't available anymore, but we'll have it forever this way. (Sorry Krisjhn if this bothers you (hope it doesn't), this is not bragging, I am just totally amazed this happened for us and particularly amazed that I was able to act on this... as a habitual procrastinator, I was guided to do this small thing for some reason!)
While this is a rather particularly boring sort of detail, I wanted to point out that people can become rich in many ways that the Universe sets up, not just through a "job"! I've noticed this a lot these past several weeks.

Another example I just thought of: my computer broke down 3 weeks ago. I was bummed! But the Universe had a good thing in mind: when I called the computer company for help, I was informed that I could get the special software I really need to bring my computer up to date, at half price! All because I am still a student! I never would have known this if I wouldn't have had my computer temporarily "break down". (It was better in an hour without taking it to a shop!)

How cool is that?

So the Universe can help us to become richer even while saving us money on bills and steering us into good "deals!" It is a small but hopeful "signpost" that we are all becoming rich!

Keep your eyes open for all the good "deals" out there!

Also I have discovered something about the way we visualize what we want. We need to go for the biggest thing we can think of, the thing we want the most.

I was trying to visualize being in a temporary house until I could buy the land I need for the purpose I need it for... Then It hit me yesterday: we all need to visualize that BIG thing first and realize that the Universe and God will take care of this for us, automatically and have faith that this is so.
I feel better now! Rather than trying to visualize all the possible steps along the way, in a logical order from my "human" perspective, I am seeing clearly the biggest thing I could think of that will help our family and the most people possible that fits in with my life purpose!

Also, I've been kinder in my mind towards the "developing" people at the recent convention... this also helps my mind to be richer and think in a more generous way.

Thank you all for your support and love. There's alot of love in this chat room! LOL! Big Grin

Be Well and Be Prosperous,

Alanna

Hi Everyone,
What an inspiring and encouraging thread this one is. I love all the success stories, and was touched deeply by your postings Alanna. I can hardly wait to hear your continued success stories.
I have a few success stories of my own. Up ‘til now I’ve run into a few problems writing the desires of my heart in my notebook, but it is getting easier and easier, with the help and encouragement of the course and all the wonderful posts here at the forum. On August 28 I wrote several desires down in my business section. One of the things I claimed was new customers, those who have never purchased anything from my on-line graphic’s business. In a way I think that entry was a test. It was one of those things that I knew would convey to me that I was definitely on the right track in this particular business, as I had toyed with the idea of closing it. I also wrote, on the same day, that I would have increased inspiration and the ability to create the inspired art easily and better than anything I had created up ‘til now and it would also be enjoyable for me. Well, that very night, I dreamed of new creations and the next day began to make them. They are very different than my normal art and are coming together amazingly easy and enjoyable—not like work at all. I posted two of the newbie’s on the 29th and they began selling that very day—ten to be exact. I have had one to several sales everyday since. This particular category had not been selling well for at least two months, possibly longer, and never ever as well as it is now. Last night I dreamed of yet other ways of doing my work better and more creatively. Today I tried what I dreamed and this art turned out better yet. And here is the really neat part—the first ten people that purchased from me since the 28th were totally new customers!! One lady has made three purchases since that date—sometimes six items, sometimes three, but she buys one of everything I post!! Yippee!!!
I am so grateful for all that is happening in my life through this course. I also had a dear lady whom I have only interacted with briefly on line to write today and pour out her troubles to me. I was so thrilled to be able to write back to her and point her to SOGR and SOBW. As far as I am concerned this is just as much a success story as new customers. I was able to share with her what SOGR has done in my life, health, etc., and in such a short time. Now it is up to her if she looks into it further and I sincerely hope she does—it could literally save her precious life.
The SOGR life is so awesome and I can hardly wait to see what tomorrow holds, for you and yours, as well as for me and mine!!! :0)
Abundant and Creative Blessings to All,
~BJ~

Love to all,

Alanna

Hello All!

During the lifetime every person on this planet will
experience some good (great) and some bad (very bed) things.

What if all of this "success stories" are only coincidence?

Can anybody prove that the same thing will not happen if you didn't practise SOGR? Or maybe you are just paying more attention to good things that are happening in your life trying to prove to yourself that SOGR is working? I don't want to offend anyone here, I'm just trying to find out answers to these questions. It is in my human nature to ask questions about life and our destiny.

SOGR is like a magnet, following the principals will attract what you want, of course you see the good in your life, you no longer trust the apprearances of life, you look for the truth. It is NOT human nature to question these things, it IS negativity to question any good in our lives.

Lots of love, light and abundance to all!

Dear Muadib,

No offense taken, in fact, I am glad you and Kristian are asking such important and thought provoking questions. And though I may not be able to supply the kind of concrete, matter-of-fact answer you're seeking, I did want to respond. So here goes.

Many years ago, my husband and I decided to go into the organic tomato business, raising vine-ripened tomatoes in a greenhouse from late November through early June. We lived in Texas, as we do now, and at that time, no one seemed to know anything about raising greenhouse tomatoes organically. So we were pioneers of a sort, blundering along as best we could while hoping for the best. I was working full-time and had a 30-mile commute and I had just started reading the works of Emmett Fox, a metaphysical teacher who rose to some prominence in the US and UK during the 30s and 40s.

Like Wattles, Fox advocated turning your mind away from what you don't want and focusing on what you do want, being grateful, and affirming you desires.

It seemed easy enough, so I wrote out an affirmation in which I claimed that every little tomato seedling we had planted (all 600 of them) was now a strong and vigorous vine, and -- borrowing from scripture here -- the fruit was "heavy on the vine." Every day, morning and evening, that statement became my mantra on the way to and from work. One hour a day devoted to claiming tomato vines heavy with fruit, five days a week. (The car was my affirmation spot, so if I wasn't commuting, I wasn't affirming and thus weekends were basically affirmation-free.)

Soon, the tiny seedlings had grown into strong vining plants, vigorously twining their way up the support wires like they were in a climbing race. A short while later, the first blooms appeared on the plants and not long after that, the first tiny green tomatoes peeked out through the leaves. Daily my affirmations continued.

By the first week of November, it was obvious our crop was going to be a bumper one. Those tiny green tomatoes were now the size of softballs or bigger and still growing. Tinges of rose were beginning to appear on the green skins as if an unseen greenhouse fairy had dusted them with pink fairy dust. The vines were vigorous and healthy, dark green leaves sheltered the fruit and new blooms and strong stems easily supported the weight of the growing tomatoes.

Since no one had been able to advise us on feeding our winter crop, we were pretty much following the same regimen we had always used in the summer garden, falling back on the organic basics like the sea kelp, molasses, vinegar and rabbit manure we were accustomed to. It had worked in the garden, we reasoned, so it should work just as well in the greenhouse.

By the week before Thanksgiving, our first crop was ready for harvest. We were up and picking tomatoes at 3 in the morning so we could have the ripest, freshest tomatoes possible ready for our customers at the Saturday market. The tomatoes were huge, some so huge, in fact, that we would stop picking and go weigh them separately. (The top tomato in that first crop weighed in at over three pounds!)

Clearly, what I had affirmed had come to pass. The fruit was indeed "heavy on the vine." There is an old adage, however, that cautions us to be careful what we ask for. I quickly discovered that I had erred somewhat in creating my affirmation, and would now have to suffer the consequences. You see, we were growing tomatoes when the average price for a tomato in the summer was never more than 30 or 40 cents a pound. Since ours were vine-ripened in the wintertime and organically grown, our asking price was a whopping $1.50 a pound and with high heating costs, we really couldn't go any lower and still make a profit. But since no tomato we offered weighed less than a pound, that meant that one single tomato would cost at least $1.50 and very few markets were willing to pay that. Though our product was wonderful and everyone agreed it was, that first year marketing all those tomatoes became a monumental chore.

The following year my affirmation changed. I now affirmed healthy, strong vines with a bumper crop of delicious, unblemished tomatoes and an eager market. Nothing else changed. Our feeding regimen remained exactly the same. That year, we again had a fantastic crop of nice sized tomatoes and had no problems marketing them at our $1.50 price. Customers were actually waiting in line at market for us when we would arrive 6 am, eager to buy before we sold out. We were on top of the world, the Tomato Czars of Texas! And I knew without a doubt that this affirming stuff Fox had introduced me to really, truly worked.! A perfect, saleable tomato crop was my iron-clad proof.

Then, the following summer we met an "expert" in organic tomato growing who offered to visit our site and give us his opinion of any changes he thought might improve our operation. We eagerly accepted his offer and were honored he would take the time for us. Like a guru he descended upon us, nodding knowingly and clicking his tongue in acknowledgement as we showed him our operation. But when we told him about our feeding regimen, he seemed genuinely shocked that we had survived thus far. A greenhouse environment was completely different from an outside garden, he explained, and what we were doing was an open invitation to wide variety of deadly fungi and diseases. Finally he left, but the fear he had instilled in us remained. Like fungi spores, his gloomy warnings floated around us invisibly, silently infecting our every thought and action from that point forward.

Though I tried to tell myself that he was wrong, and we'd been doing just fine and would continue to do so, I was still too new to the creative manifestation process to really know how to fight it, so his erosive words continued to eat away at my faith and belief. He was the expert, after all. Who was I to question him? By the time planting time arrived, we had already decided we should change over to his recommendations. We did. Our plants were only six weeks old when we began to notice the first tell-tale signs of an invasive fungus. By mid-October, every tomato plant in the greenhouse was dead. And, of course, the expert's response was "I was afraid that would happen." claiming that the damage had been done in previous years and he simply had been "too late" to help us.

As far as proof that the entire experience I have just related was the result of universal principles, I have none. I suppose you could, if you chose, look at the experience as a chain of coincidences, and I could not "prove" you wrong.

Fortunately, for me, I don't feel the need to prove anything to anyone, including myself. I know, just as certainly as I know that if I touch a hot stove I will get burned, that when I apply the principles Wattles advocates my life is better than when I do not. When I stand guard over my thoughts and words and actions paying heed only to that which is good and pure and lovely, every aspect of my life takes on those hues.

I have admitted many times through posts on this forum that I have not always been good about adhering to these principles, and I can tell you that each and every time I have fallen away from them I have suffered the consequences, while each time I have returned, the turnaround has been swift and complete.

I am sure you would like it much better if I told you I followed SOGR for two short weeks and won the lottery, but I can't. At least, not yet. Perhaps, I will someday. But when that some day comes, my lottery-winning announcement will mean little to you, for by then you will have been intrigued enough by the posts on this thread to have tried SOGR for yourself, and then you won't need any proof from any of us. You will have proved it to yourself.

I hope this has answered you question. And again, thank you so much for asking. It is exactly this kind of questioning that needs to done and often. Such queries give the newcomer a chance to discover, and we who have been here awhile a chance to affirm. Thus, they are a blessing to all.

And for your asking, may you be abundantly blessed...

Kate

Hello All

What a lovely and inspiring thread.

Dear BJ, I am so pleased to hear your graphics are selling like hot-cakes, I went to have a look at your new stuff but lo - All Sold Out.

Dear Kate, your tomatoes sound delicious and you had my stomach rumbling, I hope one day to taste them.

Dear muadib, would that be Paul muadib Wink (One of my favorite books)

You are right to ask questions, you need to clarify your doubt and it shows you are seeking to understand the universe. All I can do is give you my take on it.

quote:
Can anybody prove that the same thing will not happen if you didn't practise SOGR?

No I don't think anybody could prove this, at least not in the way I think you mean, but you have choice! If you choose to study SOGR then you will send your life down a certain path, just as would happen if you chose to be a doctor, priest, lawyer or architecht. The act of making a decision will precude certain other paths.

quote:
Or maybe you are just paying more attention to good things that are happening in your life trying to prove to yourself that SOGR is working?

Maybe, but if we are paying more attention to the good things and less to the bad then SOGR is surely working. It's more than just appreciating the smooth, it's also about coping better and reducing the rough. A large part of the system is about focus, if you focus on the bad things, then you allow the bad things to occupy your thoughts and they take up more of your life, but if you focus on the good, well...

quote:
What if all of this "success stories" are only coincidence?

What if they are? The fact is that many people have come here looking for a better and richer life. Many people, since they have been here have found a better and richer life. If these improvements are down to coincidence then great, but personally I don't believe in coincidence. SOGR is a framework for living more abundantly, one of many such frameworks, all I can suggest is you give it a go. You don't have to do it in blind faith, just take it a step at a time, do the course and see how you feel at the end of it.

The only real answer for you is for you to either prove or disprove the system to yourself. Try it, expect success and see what happens.

Blessings to you my friends

Adrian

Hello Krisjhn!
I wonder if You are living that experience!...

You are the only one that could prove this to yourself, nobody else could do that.
When you make this hapen in your life, you will see others whith that same path!
You will see only what you think about!
You are the creator of your world, only you could experience that, because you must Beleve in It First.

WE are Allways rich, because we are creating what we think.
The formless are allways there,
inside of us and arround us...
thats the miracle...
we are the creators of our world.

I have this idea:
being in the lower, or even middle income tax bracket, requires the same energy as the upper income tax bracket .. only you have the power to swich from one reality to another, and that is the same power - the formless substance is forming that reality you are thinking.

Espect miracles!

LOBO:

My little story: five years ago, I was living in New York City, my life was pretty unfulfilling had trouble with my marriage never had a good job, had more than $10,000 on credit card debt, lived in an apartment were I could get no sleep due to the neighbors constant music playing, well my life truly sucked, my only joyful moments were, when I went camping and back packing.

I always loved nature and my dream was to have house and some land in the countryside.

These dream of mine at that time seamed impossible to ever come to be, if I ever mentioned to family or friends they laughed and told me be realistic how are you going to be able to live up there and with what money etc etc.

Well one day after contemplating my situation and realized that this was not the way to live a book fell into my hands with the teachings of SOGR, and I said what do I have to loose I tried every thing else.

I told no one of my treatment, every night I will spend some time imagining living in my log cabin, happy gazing at the stars, gardening, I did not dwell in how it will come to be (very important) I let God, the Universe or what ever you want to call it take care of it, I just lived it in my imagination never doubting it will come one day.

Well I did this for a year, and things strangely started to change first some how I saved enough money to pay all my credit cards plus my wife's, thus ended my debt.

After that, savings started to accumulated in my back account to the point that I had enough for considering to look for property, (all this with out sacrificing any thing) I brought the proposal to my wife, she was a bit skeptical, but I guess the strength of my faith over came her, every time she will say how are we going to work up there (I had no Idea) I told her don’t worry things are in motion already don’t worry.

Well I found a property with all the things I wanted, a pond 30 acres of woods and fields away from every one and yes a log cabin in perfect condition, the moment I saw it I knew it was the one.

Every one advised me to do things ... Like mortgaging this or that, I only listen to my inner voice so I paid half the house up front almost all my money (my goal was not to have debts).

I told my boss that I was moving upstate NY and that I could still work from home if he wanted (sales) amazingly he agreed.

Then I told my wife to confront her boss and tell them the advantage that they will get if she worked from home (corporate travel agent) she thought I was crazy no one in her job ever worked like that, I said what do you have to loose.

That day she came back and said in disbelief they agreed, needless to say she never question any of my crazy ideas again.

To tell you the truth sometimes I still don’t believe it.

Well to make the story short In less than 2 years I finish paying of the house (I am 36 and completely debt free) I have a nice savings in my bank account that allows me to sleep very good, and my life has made a 180 degree change for the better, plus I have a lot more free time to do things I truly wanted.

And all this, applying these simple teachings.

I hope I did not bore you with my tell, and if you are still doubting this will some how give you some inspiration to continue.

I will also like to thanks to the people involved in this web site getting this message out there, you are doing a grate service to your fellow human.

And if any one has any question to asked about my experience, feel free to do so.

Dear Rebecca,

I just wanted you to know that I was introduced to your website and Mr. Wattles' book, The Science of Getting Rich, earlier this year.

While I've spent most of my teen and adult life reading success-minded books, I needed the extra kick in the tail to get out of my self-imposed comfort zone. I'd been working in a dead end job for well over three years, in spite of the fact that I had started several businesses in the past, even as far back as my junior year in high school.

However, because I'd either been unsuccessful or had allowed myself to be taken out of the game by those I was in business with, I had settled into the deepest rut of my young life.

The best thing going for me was that I was
sick and tired of my situation.

My self-imposed problem was that I wasn't yet willing to step out and start my next business. I was too busy focusing on the day-to-day problems at my job, instead of the opportunities in front of me.

In mid-April it all became crystal clear when the multi-billion dollar, publicly-traded company that owned my restaurant decided to shut it down and only gave us two weeks' notice.

I took it as the blessing in disguise (read
"kick in the pants") that I needed all along.

I decided that instead of waiting until "sometime," NOW was the time to start the business that I'd been dreaming of for over six months. So I decided to widen the access to the investment research that I was already providing my own mom, and in order to give it a certain cachet I called it "Investing With Mom," since that is exactly what I'm doing.

While I'm getting my feet wet and until I've got just a little more experience under my belt, I'm offering access to my newsletter absolutely free. You are perfectly welcome to browse my brand-new website at

--> http://www.investingwithmom.com

and I would be most honored if you were to sign up for my newsletter.

Thank you for the advice, inspiration and occasional kick in the pants. ;-)

Dear Rebecca:

This is what is happening for me, and I'll just give a few highlights:

My multimillionaire entrepreneur neighbor wants me to go into business with him in a startup he's been "dying to do."

I made contact with a prominent writer/entrepreneur (who is worth $12-15 million) and am doing a project for him. He actually came to me and called me, and I will be meeting him this fall.

A doctor friend came to me and insisted I let him invest in one of my projects. This has never happened to before in 20 years of entrepreneuring. I hadn't even mentioned looking for money to him in any way.

I had a wonderful "chance" meeting with a man who is starting up a new division for a large corporation, and he needs and will be buying exactly what I want to provide.

People call me with work or projects weekly, some of which I turn down. Some I take on.

Now, I must say that I had nothing going on for the last two years -- couldn't get anything going, and wasn't making any money at all. Not for not trying either. This stuff works, and works powerfully. And I haven't even got my "picture" that clear yet! All this has come in just a few months, and the momentum is still building.

There's more, but you get the idea. Everything has changed, as I have changed, and I'm just getting started. Personally, I believe Wattles has simply focused and clarifed the Way God intended for things to be done here. And that Way works, and it works for the good of all.

Thanks, and keep going!

I finished reading SOGR about two weeks ago. I had been sending out resumes for weeks and weeks -- trying to escape underemployment. Nothing, nothing, nothing happened until I finished the book and began trying to "more than fill my space" at the current (dead-end) job.

I was also working on the clear mental image and other concepts when ... bing* The phone rings completely unexpectedly and I am offered an interview for the job I most wanted.

Today, I am at that job and grateful to be here!

Dear Rebecca,

We corresponded several years ago. My story has evolved since then in a way that is so consistent with Wattles's Science of Getting Rich. The bottom line is that it works.

My circumstances were beyond dire on all fronts. That has changed for an immense upside and betterment, and hoped for tranactions failed for the right reasons -- to open the way for a better realization.

Wattles writes to not think about the bad experiences of the past. I agree. However, the range from bad to great is good for inspiration and motivation. Accordingly, I will give you a little history, which I will interpret as positive as the ultimate result is what is important, and that is shaping up to be very rewarding ...

I would like for this to be shared but to be anonymous.

In the past year, I have gone from no revenue
in sight to having $150 million in real
estate projects in the mill, with $116
million of that as a co-principal.

This was accomplished with my being flat broke, a career's worth of built-up reputation destroyed, former partners working against me, my personal and business credit destroyed, enduring multiple (I mean many) law suits, and being separated from my family which was re-united prior to the upturn ... It's an endurance contest, which is shortened by adhering to Wattles' principles.

I really love this. Thank you for your efforts in making this power available to so many for so little. I hope you are abundantly blessed throughout eternity for having done what you have graciously done.

MYLES in Los Angeles, California, USA:

I was about to go to Italy with my wife, my brother, my mother and my nephew. This was a vacation which was planned for a while. My brother was taking all of us and using his miles for our plane tickets and he had paid for the villa we were staying in.

And because my brother is incredibly generous, as I'm sure you can already see, I knew that he was going to pay for our meals and any thing we wanted.

Still, I had no money in the bank and bills were going to come due while my wife and I were gone and we really were tight in terms of being able to pay them. Not to mention the fact that I didn't want to have my brother pay for everything, and since we were going to be in Italy I wanted to have some money so my wife would be able to buy some things she wanted.

I wanted money to be able to enjoy this trip and to make sure that my wife had a great time (which, of course, would make me very happy too.)

So about a month before the trip I started really applying SOGR. I was doing the [Practical Geniuses TM] course, and reading passages of the book every day. I was writing six things down at night that I was grateful for.

And I held to the vision of us having lots of money, paying off our bills, buying my wife clothes in Italy, etc.

I saw myself opening our mailbox and getting a huge check. But most important, I FELT that FEELING of calm that comes when you've paid all your bills. And I FELT that FEELING of excitement when you have the ability to buy some things you want.

I also set out to sell one of our two cars as a sure way to raise the money. I saw myself selling the car to a happy individual. And again, I FELT that FEELING of calm I get when I have a lot of money at my disposal.

To make a long story short -- which I know is impossible at this point! -- I worked hard to sell the car. Calling people, putting ads out everywhere.

Anyway, a few days before my trip I still didn't have any money. But I knew deep down I'd be OK.

Then ...

I got a refund from a health insurance claim.

Out of nowhere, a friend left me a check just as a gift so that I could show my wife a good time in Italy.

And I called the IRS and got word that my tax refund would come just after I left for Italy, so I left a bank deposit slip with a friend and the key to my mailbox so they could get the check and deposit it.

And the day before I left, a woman stopped me on the street and said she saw the "For Sale" sign in the car I was driving and it was perfect for her boyfriend.

... The guy ended up buying the car the second day I was in Italy, and my friend put the money in my bank account.

Who says the Universe doesn't have a sense of humor -- waiting for the last minute to answer my prayers?!

All in all I have been studying SOGR for at least a year now. When I first read the book I had an instant rapport with Mr Wattles writings. I was really ready for this ... I can honestly say that my life has changed, definitely for the better. I have so many stories, but this posting would go on forever, so I will write a couple.

My husband and I wanted to purchase a rental property. We searched locally for a very long time and just couldn't find what we were looking for. After doing one of the "LifeLabs" [Note: Part of The Science of Getting Rich for Practical GeniusesTM online course], I realised we were not being specific about what we wanted.

So we sat down and wrote a list of exactly what it was that we wanted in our rental property (e.g., location, size, cost, extras -- lockup garage room for parking second car or caravan and so on).

Within a week the property presented itself to us, we knew instantly and put in an offer which was accepted straight away!

A few months later we wanted to do a rejuvenation on a property. Again we wrote a list of what we wanted (specifically as we could). That weekend we went out looking. We saw a few houses, then at one of the properties the salesperson says "This house would be a good investment. With a makeover the property would be worth $XX."

We thought this very strange (real estate agents had never said this to us before). We did our figures and checked houses selling in the street and local area and this house was perfect. (It was like a sign.) We purchased the property and did the makeover, all done before settlement day. We then put the property on the market to sell. We had a target of three months.

At two and a half months the property still had not sold. I could not believe it. I had so much faith in SOGR. I was a little panicky, but I held that faith. I just knew things would work out. We had always said that if the property had not sold at three months we would put tenants in. So we advertised for tenants.

The first people through signed up to move in.

Then out of the blue an investor put in a offer to buy -- if we could prove that we had a tenant signed up for 12 months! It was a win-win-win situation for everyone.

For me personally, for quite some time I have wanted to have a home-based business. I want to be there after school, holidays, etc. for my son. It was a little hard for me to be specific in this one. However I wanted to work from home, use my computer and help others in some way.

One of my mentors has a successful home-based internet business. I always looked forward to reading his ezine. One day he wrote that he knew there were people out there who wanted to start a home-based business and didn't know where to start. He and his partner wanted to help someone, to work one-on-one to do this.

I could hardly believe what I was reading. This was exactly what I was looking for -- I wanted this opportunity.

I feel soooo very blessed to be the one that they picked, and I am currently doing a lot of study and hard work to set up my own home-based internet business. This is not a "get rich quick" sort of thing, but it is a work hard, persist and get rich in the long term thing.

I'm not writing all this to brag, but only to share with you that in my opinion, doing the SOGR course has changed my life ... For me it has not been a fast overnight change but a slow change, continually changing and improving.

I never go to sleep at night without thinking about at least six things that I am grateful for that day. It can be anything -- a phone call, a friend, even the traffic lights that bring such order to our roads ...

The life we all have is truly wonderful and a blessing, and prosperity and wealth is for all of us ... I hope that I have helped someone today.

--JULIE in Perth, Western Australia, Australia

PS: I feel that some of you reading this will think that we are already in a good financial position. We are just an ordinary family. We decided three years ago that we wanted to get ahead. We stopped spending and trying to have what everyone else around us has. We have a very old car, second-hand everything. But we worked slowly on paying off debts (other than mortgage). We were in this mindset when I came across the SOGR book -- that is why I say that it came at a good time.

Opportunities are now presenting themselves to us in the form of people, information, etc., and this has helped us to make decisions that have changed our lives in so many ways. It has not been easy, but when you have absolute faith then it is so much easier to take a chance ...

What I'm trying to say is some of you want overnight riches and if it doesn't happen straight away you may start thinking that this doesn't work. It's working for me and I know that it will work for you to at the appropriate pace. Wishing for you success, prosperity and true happiness.

What would you attempt to do today if you knew it were impossible to fail?

This question, perhaps first raised by Dorothea Brande in her 1932 bestseller, Wake Up and Live!, and raised again in my life recently by Rebecca Fine, caused me to begin searching for an answer to the question.

A talk radio show was my first answer. So, I'm happy to report that just six weeks later, the first broadcast of "The Mike & Bill Show" was a success!

(By the way, I knew it would be!) This two-hour weekly Saturday evening show (6-8 PM EST) is meant to entertain and help encourage people to face their challenges. My thanks to WOKV 690 AM in Jacksonville for clearing out a two-hour time slot for us on Saturday evening.

I'm already impressing my clear mental image of national syndication on the formless substance!!!

I thought I’d share a small incident with all of you -- a small SOGR success story you could say.

I’ve been wanting a printer for a while now, and I thought it was a good time to prove SOGR to myself. So I right away started visualizing one. It wasn’t the clearest of visions, but I knew I wanted a printer. I also went to a couple of computer stores, checked out the models, prices, etc., and even read a lot of reviews on the 'net (ACTION, as Wally puts it).

After finally deciding on EXACTLY what I wanted (and I decided on a high end model even though I personally couldn’t really afford it), I decided to ask my sister for the printer. She said no straight out, and to be honest I stopped visualizing after that.

But after a couple of weeks my cousin called
me up and ... said [a new printer] would save
a lot of time and money for our business --
it’s a family business; we run a restaurant
-- and he told me to give him the model
number and that he would get the printer for
me (!).

A week after that I got a new printer. It wasn’t the one I had visualized. It was something way more better. It was an all-in-one. My sister-in-law convinced my sister somehow to buy an all-in-one. I still don’t know why she did that. The printer was as good as the one I had visualized, but it also had with it a scanner and copier.

Talk about abundance!

Was it a coincidence? I don’t think so.

JOANNE in Franklin, Indiana, USA:

I read The Science of Getting Rich around the 1st of February, 2004. I followed the book, using vision, faith and action.

I am a small business owner, and around the 10th of February I noticed I would need approximately $3,000 by the 4th of March to keep the doors open; the money was nowhere to be found.

I used my vision to see myself writing the check and the money being in the account, and truly believed it would come with total faith. I was so confident that I never mentioned it to my husband.

On March 4th at 11:50AM my business purchasing account had been put on hold. I did begin to become concerned. At 12:10 my husband called to invite me to lunch.

We met for lunch at 12:30, my stomach in knots thinking I am going to have to close the doors of my business. He told me he sold our old car for $4,400.  I told him about the account and he handed me $3,100.

I wrote the check and am still in a business I love. IT WORKS!!!! THANK YOU!!!!

Thank you for bringing The Science of Getting Rich to my life.

JAIN writes:

I have been studying SOGR for a few months now and have had lots of nice little surprises. But I got a big one a few weeks ago which taught me a lot.

I am a mad keen horse person and one of my dreams was to own a horse for trail riding. I orignally thought about just getting a basic, cheap, scrubby little horse but then realised I might as well ask for the whole dream.

I began to think instead of riding a beautiful, tall, well trained horse. I would picture myself on this horse several times a day. I would walk along the trails that I would like to ride the horse. I visited saddleries and looked at gear that I would like to buy for my new horse.

And then it happened.

I was offered a beautiful, tall, well trained horse. He is worth a lot more than I could possible pay for him. He has a small injury that would prevent him from competing at top level, but won't in any way affect his trail riding ability and the owners just wanted him to go to a good home.

Anyway, I waffle on, but the point to this story is that I went into a mild panic when I was offered this magnificient horse. Where could I keep him, how would I look after him, how could I afford to keep him??? Because I had to make a decision about whether I wanted him in just a few hours I nearly said no.

But then I thought this is what I've asked
for, here it is and I have to accept this
gift.

And it all worked out perfectly. I found a really good place to keep him and he's turned out to be very cheap to look after. To think I nearly missed out on this wonderful horse because I wasn't ready for when it happens. Now when good things are offered to me, I accept them immediately and know that the 'hows and whys' will work themselves out.

Needless to say, every time I ride my beautiful horse I am extremely grateful!!

A client who had sometimes struggled to meet large loan repayments came to me and said “Neil, I'm 48 and want to be debt free by the time I'm 50.” My answer from my experience was that now the target had been set, the means will appear. Every time I saw this client I reaffirmed his vision.

Guess what? It did, right over from left field. Thinking back, at no stage did we supervise the creative process -- it just happened once the clear mental vision had been set.

Was he debt free by 50? No, it took an extra three months.

For me at this stage, if I had to summarise the Science of Getting Rich, it would be get the vision, maintain the gratitude and take action. I don't know if this is right, but it sure beats what I was doing before.

Cheers, and as always, Expect Success!

[A little background: David -- who uses the name BornToFeelGood on the SOGR NETwork Discussion Forum -- had hired a builder to fix his leaky roof and the job wasn't going very well. The fellow didn't show up for work and the rain was coming down. But David kept his cool and kept thinking in the certain way, so when the builder finally showed and offhandedly said he couldn't work the day before because he'd had to get his guitar fixed ... well, here's what happened!]

OK, so I realise that the thinking stuff has to communicate with you in some manner and there is a chance that there may be a message coming out the mouth of others. The builder tells me he is in the guitarist in the rock band and the singer is out of rehab and is now back to his best.

As I mentioned ... I've been following the teachings of Wally with no result, well obvious result. It is like the thinking stuff has forgotten about me, that Father Christmas has passed over my chimney.

I'm using SOGR to try and turn round my business, which of course is wrong. I'd forgotten that my job is to contemplate my vision, give thanks and act accordingly.

Anyway, intead of berating the builder for leaving a hole in my roof, I ask to hear a demo. He has one in his van. I listen and it is quite brilliant. Even though I am not a rock fan, I know this is incredible.

There I am sitting in my house listening to a singer who has sold three million albums, has lost all his money, is wishing to restart his career and because of my impression of increase the builder says, "Can you help us finish the album?"

An opportunity from the thinking stuff to set
me on the path to riches -- or a waste of money?

I go with the first: this is an opportunity, and if it is a waste of money then because I follow SOGR it will lead to something else.

Now to make an album cost $40,000. I do not have this, so off I go to the bank. "I would like to set up a new business to make a rock album and I need $40,000 overdraft, please."

"Please take a seat Mr. BornToFeelGood and I will just get the manager."

"Hello Mr. BTFG, I've heard you've made an unusual request," he says. I remember the impression of increase and act accordingly and don't speak. I pull out a portable CD player and play him the demo. He listens in silence and says "That's incredible. I used to be a rock musician myself when I was younger!"

So the thinking stuff has put me in front of
the only bank manager within a thousand miles
who has been in a rock band. We talk about
how we will market the CD, and he sets me up
with the overdraft.

The album is finished on time and under budget, the musicians are amazing, and the singer truly wonderful.

My ex-husband left the country for a few months, saying he's getting training for a future job he'll have back here (at an unknown time in the future). I met this announcement with fear and worry that he would not keep paying child support and that I would not have enough to support myself and my daughter without it.

(Blinking warning light! Change that lack
feeling!).

I managed to turn that around consciously and wish him success and good luck and TRUST that he would meet his obligations. More importantly, I just saw myself as capable of taking care of us without his help.

(We live in Israel, and I could have easily
attained a stay order preventing him from
leaving the country when he owes child
support, but to everyone who suggested that,
I said that I wished him well wherever he
went and that I had all I needed, thank you).

He's been gone two months and no money came in for July or August. I have to admit I had some fear and resentment tied up in that fact ...

Today I got an email from him saying that a sum that more than covers what he owes from the past two months, plus September's payment would be transferred to my account tomorrow.

My first reaction was a tense stomach just at the sight of his email, and after reading it my second reaction was doubt that the money transfer would really happen. Then I caught my negative thinking/feeling and purposely and consciously turned it around.

I closed my eyes and remembered some really good times when he was supportive and kind and loving, and pictured him with our daughter whom he adores. I wrote out on paper that he is a trustworthy and honest man and that I wish him happiness and peace. I left my desk and went outside in the sunshine and found lots of things to appreciate and feel good about and tried to overlay that feeling onto the thought of his email (which contained "good news" -- it was only my reaction that had been negative.)

Then I went back in to work and forgot about it.

At 11 am (three hours after I first saw the
email) I got a call from the bank telling me
that the amount he'd mentioned plus a little
MORE had been transferred to my account --
TODAY!

Wow.

Does anyone think I might have manifested that by turning my thinking around, or that it might have been delayed or not have happened at all if I'd stayed in my fear and doubt mode?

Well, *I* think so!

Just wanted to share that with you all.

When I stumbled across The Science of Getting Rich, it came in direct response to a frustrated and desperate plea to that thinking substance (if it really existed) to help me understand what life was all about and what my specific purpose is.

Like many of us, I had read loads of self-help stuff and tried many different methods, all to no avail. And the reason they didn't work, as I now understand, is that I had no idea what I wanted.

I knew what I *didn't* want, but in answer to the burning question "If you had all the money in the world what would you do?" my mind was a complete blank. Well, not actually blank, but none of the ideas that occurred to me seemed to have any particular spark.

I am one of those people that do a number of things well, ranging from art to science so I had plenty of scope for my imagination, but no one thing really turned me on.

You know what I mean: "If I could do anything at all, what would make me want to leap out of bed every morning to get back at it?"

The answer seemed to elude me completely. More frustration, more guilt, more thinking I must be stupid or weird or something.

Much envy toward those people that had "always" wanted to be a doctor or an artist or a teacher or a nurse. I am sure you know exactly what I am talking about here.

So what happened? Well perhaps I could show you rather than try and explain it.

After reading SOGR every day for the first month and referring back to it constantly during each of those days here is what I did.

1. I accepted that it was OK not to know.

2. I made my vision all about seeing myself discovering my true purpose and I experienced it as fully and with as much feeling as I could manage in my imagination.

3. I decided that the key was having "faith" but until I met Rebecca and Wally D. I was completely unaware that one can develop faith through "gratitude." So I got very grateful -- for everything I could think of every night before I slept, each morning when I got up, and every time I thought of it every day.

4. I memorized the credo at the end of the SOGR (Chapter 17) -- meaning that every night I would try to say aloud a little bit more without looking at the printed copy by my bed until finally I could say the whole thing from memory.

5. I got to work -- meaning that I did every task I needed to accomplish each day with as much focused effort and as efficiently and perfectly as I wanted everything in my new life to be.

6. I tried at every opportunity to share the advancing thought with everyone I met during each day whether via email, by telephone or the waitress in the coffee shop: I smiled a lot more and tried to make everyone else around me feel good in some way, and I remembered to be grateful for it all.

Here is what happened:

1) Doubled my income -- a direct result of my right action.

2) Formed a new company doing what I really love to do -- a result of having my true purpose made clear. This took just over a year.

3) Formed an ebook publication partnership -- because I needed to help others achieve success online and had the knowledge to share. And again, right action: I actually wrote a book on it, and

4) I developed a personal friendship with a fellow Sogger (SOGR enthusiast) from which we have created and are building another business that helps others grow and change ...

Not bad for someone who just over a year ago was wallowing around in self-pity and confusion and totally unhappy and frustrated with my life in general and myself in particular.

I am an avid pilot, and love to fly aerobatics in our beautiful blue skies above Perth where I live. But the $180 per hour needed has stopped me for a long while as I focused on "making money" so I could fly.

After doing the first half of this [SOGR for Practical GeniusesTM] course, I decided that what I REALLY wanted to do was FLY, NOT earn the money to fly. So I focused my vision on flying.

In the past three weeks I have flown three hours at NO COST to me. Others have been happy to pay for the hire of the aircraft for me to take them for a flight.

Go for what you want -- money is only good for the experiences it helps you achieve.

I discovered the ebook through another newsletter. Immediately after, I fell into very hard times. Let's just say that I did not put Wattles' teachings into practice right away.

After agonizing for months and getting deep into debts that I just had no way of re-paying, I decided to "try" Wattles' teachings.

To cut a long story short, let's just say that I am now re-paying my debts and I have a positive balance in my bank account. I am not yet rich but I am confident that I am getting there. I have purchased the audio tapes of the book so I can "read" while driving.

Yes. The system really does work.

KEITH writes:

My success -- I landed a new job in the same field I have worked in the past nine years, but it's a more interesting job and about 33% higher paying than I had been making. This is a very nice improvement for me. I have been one of these people who had no idea "what they want to do when they grow up", and honestly I still don't know.

But I used a principle in the book to always put your best effort forward and to make the best of your existing circumstances. This job interview was "different" than others. Instead of "trying" to convince the employer of my worthiness, I knowingly went in putting out my best effort possible (like the book says).

The interview went great. I was interviewed by two supervisors and one followed me out into the parking lot, talking to me and saying he really wanted to hire me. This has raised my income 33% with a likable boss and a pretty likable job.

One other thing that hit me like a ton of bricks yesterday is the "Principle of Increase." That people want to increase everything in their lives whether they really realize it or not. It explains a lot about life in general. If you are a benefit to others and they can see that, they will be attracted to you. (I don't say this for selfish reasons, but a learning one and the "right way" to be in any relationship -- business or personal.)

Be a positive benefit to others and we should attract others, be a negative and people will likely stay away.

Thanks to Rebecca and the web site for being here.

[NOTE: This will say it's been edited -- and it has! I was just looking at it weeks later and saw that I'd misstated a cliche. Instead of saying this batch of stories is the tip of a very large iceberg, I called it an icebox! Well, I'm sure that means SOMETHING ... Big Grin ]

thank you very much for your post, tom! just what i needed.

you see ive been trying to clean up clutter from my house for weeks already... it's taking weeks because some days im just too tired to work on them, being a single mom and breadwinner and all, and having the kids undo whatever clutter ive sorted every few days. but ive been getting a feeling too of some sort of lightening of my burdens even as i plod on and clean and sort... it might look like just a menial tedious chore to outsiders but inside, something's going on. as i sort out stuff and decide what i will keep and what i will let go and give away, it's like a metaphor for the inner process of thinking about my life too and what i will keep now and let go... there are those inner dynamics going on. it's almost like some sort of active meditative state! so i usually am able to do a lot of cleaning up and sorting at midnight or dawn, when the kids are asleep and im alone in the world! : )

and you're right there about the vacuum too, tom. slowly, these days, since ive started cleaning up and letting go of old things, new things are coming into our lives and our household, the things in my vision and that are in line with my heart's desires for the kids and i.

so i see cleaning up now as one way of "preparing for my good". : )

i am also just now struck by how kids do it so effortlessly. i was napping but before i napped, i told the kids we'd go to the mall after i woke up. well, what do you know? while i was napping, the two little ones took it upon themselves to bathe and change into mall clothes, then woke me up and presented themselves to me. : ) what does a mom do but give them their good now, since they made the effort to prepare actively for it even while they waited and i napped?

kids are such angels of wisdom from God, too, huh? : ) : ) : )

You can start with reading the book and applying its teachings in your life.

Mr. Wattle himself says in the book that if even one person applies the principles in the book and fails to get rich then you know what he is teaching is false.

Mr Wattle doesn't say that. What he says about the techings of his book is that "it will not fail."

Hi Tom,
This indeed was an AHA moment for me as well. I discovered that as I began to give away suits and clothing from my closet, that the finances came in miracalus to replace them and I believe this works in every way.

Hi All,

One of my AHA moments came when I decided to get rid of some clutter around the house. The saying......"Nature Abhors A Vacuum" is very true.

As my wife and I have been ridding the house and yard of clutter, the clutter has been replaced with some of the items that we have in our vision. And we have just begun!! When this happens, we just look at each other with a "knowing look." Now, when we dispose of something, we look at each other and say "Be Prepared", something is on the way to replace it!

I think that this removing of clutter from our lives is a great "first step." It provides a feeling of accomplishment and, believe it or not, it has helped to unclutter my thinking in the process.

Just a small success, or is it (small?)

Much abundance to all,
Tom
