Hello to everyone,
I have not made any posts here before. I am just moving through the book and came across the part that says ....

'A persons way of doing things is the direct result of the the way he thinks about things'

'Every appearance in the visible world tends to produce a corresponding form in the mind which observes it .. and this can only be prevented by holding the thought of truth'...

This power can only be aquired by getting hold of the basic fact which is behind all appearances and the fact is that there is a thinking substance from which and by which all things are made'

Then we must grasp the truth that every thought held in this substance becomes form and that man can so impress his thoughts upon it as to cause them to take form and become visible things'

This does not quote the whole of the relevant part of the book. I was wondering what others thought about this part of the book?

Prior to this is it says looking upon appearances of poverty will produce appearances of poverty unless you hold to the truth that their is no poverty - there is only abuundance.

This is an interesting concept. When we look out into the world we see the result of chemical combinations in our brains that produce what we see. There is no light with in our brains to produce sight - only chemical reactions to produce what we see, stimulated by the light.

When we are told to hold a vision and imagine we already have what we want - could that mean for example seeing the car we want infront of us in our imagination - rather than the car we actually have? If we hold the vision of what we imagine is there instead of what is actually there -we will eventually acquire it?

I am still new to all this and am interested in what others think about this or any experiences relating to this?

Thanks

Stephen007

Hi Stephen007,

I suggest that you take the practical geniuses course. It gives you a lot of insight into what Wally writes in a easy to understand up to date way. I think for now you are analyzing it too deeply, read and accept what is written in the book, it will give you a sense of freedom. When I read the book for the first time, although I didn't quite understand it, I felt really excited. Finally I no longer had the feeling that there was something more in this world, something that I couldn't put my finger on, something out of my reach. No, now I was certain that there is "something" (actually anything!) out there, and I can have it if I so please. AND the best part was, I could learn how to!!!
Hope this helps and a warm welcome to you.

Prosperity, Love and abundance to all.

Hi Stephen007,

As you said, "I am just moving through the book ...."

If this is your first exposure to these ideas, I suggest you read through the book several times to get a basic understanding of what it teaches. Hang out in these forums and read the post. And when you feel ready, sign up for the Practical Geniuses course.

There is a lot to learn, to understand. Be patient and accept.

I wish you the very best.

Hi Stephen,

I posted an example of visualisation from my own experience on 18/06/05 under the topic of 'Being Specific' http://forums.scienceofgettingrich.net/eve/forums/a...771098131#4771098131

Every material item that you possess, you have thought of at some time. Every experience you have had in your adult life, you have expected to happen in one form or another. Which things manifest, and how long they take to manifest, depends on how much you think about them, what you believe about them and how strong your feelings about them are.

If you are new to this concept, my personal recommendation is to read the book right through at least 30 times, then read at least one chapter of the book every day until you have reached your financial goals. Also, as Mr Wattles recommends, avoid ideas which conflict with the basic principles of the book; in practice this will mean avoiding the "news" in newspapers and on television (if you watch it).

If you feel that another, more modern, book on reality creation would be useful to you, my (again, personal) recommendation would be "You'll See It When You Believe It" by Wayne W. Dyer.

Also, download the SOGR screensaver, if you haven't already. It has some great quotes and makes you realise that all the greatest thinkers and achievers of history have understood the basic truth that your thoughts create your life.

Peace and prosperity to you.

Polly.

You are not mentally developed by what you read, but by what you think about what you read - Wallace D. Wattles

Yes, this is exactly what he is saying. And not just when you are actually looking at the car you currently have, but all the time.
