Quite right Claudia. MLM is OK. This does not mean that every MLM program is OK or that every MLM member is OK. The business model is honest. It rewards those who do the work. Like everything, there is good and bad in MLM. I have found that it works best when you simply present your business to those who want to know what you have to offer. If they like me and my product, they join. If not, they move on....and so do I. Begging never works. However, it's what most Networkers do, unfortunately. Richcroc..thank you for sharing your story. I am fom South Africa. The belief that white people are targets of black people is part of the rascist myths created by people from apartheid and it couldn't be further from the truth. Black people in South Africa have taken more lengths to seek harmony and forgive.. often at a great expense to material gain (its an apperance anyhow). And unlike other counties in the world where attrocities have happened there has been very little justice again on an apperance level. Thank you for sharing your experience and being able to see that your original beliefs had verly little to do with the truth.
Myself...I have never been hijacked. I spend time in areas that are considered to be the most dangerous...even at night...alone...I have always known that I am safe...
YES...even in my moments of being afraid about something |

Thanks for starting this discussion MLM is one of those areas where people have fixed unwavering views that often are never challenged or rethought, I believe that maintaining a fixed view on anything keeps us from growing and evolving.

Hello everyone,
Excellent debate going on here, so good I've felt a need to put my two pennies worth, even though I haven't posted for years. I do however read the forum every day. I've discovered SOGR about five years ago, and based on my experience during those years I would like to answer Zeros question. For me to believe that I attract everything, do I trust this belief with my life? Yes, absolutely!!! Simple as that! I've analized all the bad things that have ever happened to me, and there were a lot of them. I've spent most of my life in the "victim" mentality, blaming everyone and God for it. However, SOGR made me sit and think about it, and you know what? I've come to a very painful realisation that most of it, no, all of it I have actually created myself by my belief and a way of thinking at that time. I've fought with that realisation for a long time, and spent a lot of time disecting SOGR to find a fault with it, to confirm the victim status, to confirm that we as individuals haven't got a choice in the matter. If I only used that time to live in the certain way instead of trying to dissaprove it, things today would be a lot different today. But it's all a learning curve. I've since managed to forgive everyone who done me wrong, and thanked God for letting me have those experiences, or shall I say for giving them to me, since I've asked for them in the first place. Zero, don't read between the lines. SOGR really is black and white, there are no grey areas there, apart from those that you choose to create yourself. One thought on the natural disasters and such. It has been croping up quite regularly over the years. I have come to this conclusion (blame it on my Darwinian upbringing). Evolution. Law of nature. Since the begining of this planet many species have become exctinct. All by some form of what we call a natural disaster. Ice age, great floods, draughts. We had them all. Man will never become exctinct, because we are on the top of the evolution tree, however we will evolve. So to put it blatantly, natural disasters today is natures way of keeping the population down. For me personally that is the least painful way of justifying such things. And finally as for the main topic of this post, MLM. I've first come into contact with it about seven years ago. I will not name any company I've been involved with, because I don't believe in badmouthing anyone, even if they deserve it. I've loved the concept of MLM, even though for years I tought it's a lot of ... Excuse my language. I've since realised it's not the concept of MLM that is flawed, or any of the companies, but the people that introduced it to you. First company I was with, or shall I say first sponsor, signed me up, got me excited, showed me all the success stories, and then left me to it. Any time I did hear from them is to coarse me into spending a thousands of pounds to buy a step on the ladder, which would leave me with a title and a ton of stock in my garage. Nobody actually sat me down and explained exactly how to do the business.Of course I didn't do it. So of course it didn't work, and of course I turned into one of those people who slag of MLM on every opportunity. A few months later I joined another company. My sponsor signed me up and dissapeared for dust. So it didn't work. So it was the end of that. I've spent next four years badmouthing MLM to all and saundry. Than I've come across the yet another company. This time the sponsor signed me up (how did I fall for that one again).I've given her a hell of a time questioning, trying to prove how it's all wrong this mlm thingy. But guess what, she took me back to basics, showed me everything, explained everything,(thinking back got a feeling that she studied SOGR). Reasuring her that everything is fine, she went back up north where she lives (over 200 hundred miles away). She phoned me regularly, listened to me, guided me. That was about three years ago. And guess what? I've done nothing with it. I've dreamed about a great success and wealth, but that is as far as it's gone. So this MLM thingy don't work? The only thing that don't work is me. I was Mr Wattles typical example of a mere dreamer and a castle builder. I was merely impressing my thoughts on the formles and thanking God for receiving it, but what was missing? Action! About three weeks ago however, after another failed 9 to 5 jobby, I've reread the SOGR again, and it was like reading it for the very first time. It took me another two weeks to commit myself to act on it (as you've probably noticed I'm a thinker, not a doer), and all of a sudden I've got this urge to start that MLM again. I am still registered with the same company. There was a post here on the forum not a long ago from someone who wanted to know whether they should take a certain opportunity that has been presented to them, even though they had a not so good feeling about it, and one of the advice was that if their heart says "hell yeah"" than go for it. Well I am experiencing that "hell yeah" moment about my MLM. And the more I try to fight it the stronger it gets. But the funny thing is that since I've had that feeling, I got people who don't normally talk to me about such matters come to me and expressing interest in it. I haven't even decided to do it yet, and formless is allready bringing me prospects. Any thoughts on that Rebecca? Should I go for it? Well enough rumbling for tonight. There is more I wanted to write about, but think I'll leave it for now. Dazzer, we are a bit of a neighbours, I live in a David Brent Utopia (work that one out lol). Till next time, take care everyone! |

Hi Tan What is stopping you? If it feels right, maybe the time is NOW. Is it really what you want? Will it get you where you where you want to go? What do you have to lose? The worst that can happen is that it might fail and lead you to something better. MLM is simply a home based business that you can buy into for a small fee. No need to be afraid. Go for it. Just to re-answer Zero, Wattles does say this over and over throughout the book. Chapet 4 "The stuff from which all things are made is a substance which thinks, and a thought form in this substance produces the form. Original substance moves according to its thoughts; every form and process you see in nature is the visible expression of a thought in original substance....." "No thought of form can be impressed upon original substance without causing the creation of the form" (The concept is repeated at the end of every subsequent chapter) Ch 7 pg 20: "You fix attention upon the common, the ordinary, the poor, the squalid and the mean - and your mind takes the form of these things. Then you will transmit these forms or mental images to the formless. And the common, the poor, the squalid and the mean will come to you...." Chpt 9 pg 26: "Medicine as a science of disease has incresed disease; religion as a cience of sin has promoted sin, and economics as a study of poverty will fill the world with wretchedness and want. ... most charity only tends to perpetuate the wretchedness it aims to eradicate" (This is because the FOCUS on these things will ATTRACT more of it) Ch 11 "Thought is the creative power or the compelling force which causes the creative power to act. What the book does it explains how to harness this power and focus your thoughts and so create positive outcomes. If you do not discipline and focus your thoughts, but give your attention to things you do NOT want, the law will still apply and attract those things you do not want. There's no way that I could know what YOU "should" do. You should do what you want to do. If you're still feeling unclear about it, it just means you haven't clarified what you really want and/or aren't focusing on THAT. As long as you're still focusing on all those past unwanted experiences (and you are, otherwise you wouldn't have any need to keep telling the story), then you will attract more of that kind of thing. If I were in your place, I'd follow Mr. Wattles' advice and just fall back into contemplating what it is I WANTED before I took ANY kind of action. Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Thank you, John, you put it so simply and yet so true.
Rebecca, I've reread my post again and realized that you are ABSOLUTELY right. I am focusing too much on the past, which having read SOGR you'd think I should know better. Suppose I needed someone else to point that to me before it sank in. Thank you Rebecca, I got my answer.Decision has been made now, my CMI is clear and the action will take place. |

I will even go so far as to say I chose to be born and chose my parents etc.
But back to MLM, I believe people fail in MLM because they don't know how to communicate. I did some training before I joined the SOGR practical genuises course and learnt some way cool stuff about communicating. This is all based on the SOGR principles and I think it's wonderful that there are people out there willing to teach. My mentor himself has made millions and I'm so grateful that he has offered to share his methods. I'm ready to get into the business. |

I think that what that section says is that no matter what business we are in it is our role to give others the opportunity to grow, to share with them the SOGR concepts which will help them grow. Once we have the knowledge the world can only grow by our sharing it.
I am in an MLM and am there BECAUSE they follow these principles within the business, yet still in this business the people who sign you up can disappear, but then you need to ask yourself who you actually aligned yourself to - the person or the business model and what are your goals and your dreams and can this business model be the path to achieving them? If so, go out and take massive action!!! Don't wait for someone else to do it for you. MLM can be very challenging for people because it brings to the fore many of your own shortcomings and in order for you to succeed requires you to grow and to BE a business owner (your business no one else's) and the business requires you to become all that you can be so that you can successfully lead a group of people to be all that they can be, both personally and in a business sense. To me this is all that Mr Wattles is encouraging us to do and those that can't think and act in a certain way really do find MLM difficult (as they may any other business too), it really puts you in the soptlight. Why is this so difficult? I think that many people join MLM businesses in order to find an easy path or to have their introducing member do all the work for them. Also, most people who join have never run a business and have never had to deal with others in the way that MR Wattles suggests in Claudia's quote, many find this aspect too hard, don't succeed and find it easier to blame MLM their introducing member or the particular company than to look at their own shortcomings (aka wish to reamin victims)! If you can get in to an MLM that culturally fits with you and find your own place within the business model this can be the most challenging and rewarding way to practice and apply daily the teaching of the SOGR. What other business do you know of where you have to develop and grow others in order for you to be successful? This means to develop and grow others as peers not as subordinates or employees but as business partners, life long friends (if your MLM business works you will be together for life!), you need to value and respect them as fellow travellers that you are journeying with in a part of your life. You have to love them as your family and teach them to grow and of course, continue to grow yourself. I think soooo many people are just too scared to grow and stand out. Me included at times Love Helen |

Everything that happens to us (Me) is because I have brought it to me? I am confused a little about that. Would you elaborate more please. |

If you'd like to discuss this subject, please do this first: 1. Do a search on the forum using some terms that seem likely to have been used in such a discussion because this has come up a LOT of times previously. 2. If you still want to begin a new thread instead of continuing an existing one, please DO create a new one. The subject of THIS thread has to do with MLM and it has been inadvertently "hijacked" by bringing up totally different subject matter here. Thanks! Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! I think the reason MLM is not widely successful is that most people who do it do not approach it as a serious vocation, just somwthing they try on a whim without any kind of action plan - page 40, bit about acting without haste. Spam probably hasn't helped MLMs reputation either. Fact is if you have something to sell and it is of use to people, someone will want it (remember giving more in use value than you take in cash value) so in my interpretation you just need to impress your desire for someone to buy it. Doesn't matter if its cleaning products to householders or fax toner to offices.

Sogr encourages any business, work, idea, plan, etc, that is built from the creative mindset and that increases life to all.
So if you work mlm from the creative mindset and love what you do then MLM is the right business for you and you will attract the right people. Appreciation from the Heart, Richard De Haven |
