This is a question that comes up again and again (and again) in these discussions. So here's the answer:

It's just our forum "shorthand" for what Wallace Wattles calls your "clear mental image."

And if you want to know what "clear mental image" means, just download the free Science of Getting Rich ebook and read it! Wink

I don't know if it is even important. I mean I see different things each day when I read SOGR. Mr. W refers to it mostly as 'clear mental picture'. I am comfortable with 'clear mental image' and surely it means the same thing. Somehow it seems like an image is more 3-d and can be touched and explored whereas a picture is flat and does not have texture and dimension. Maybe I have way too much time on my hands.

After reading all the replies, I realize I am certainly in the group I belong in. I see the same struggles and aspirations I share in myself. The testing thing? I have come to see that my life was embedded in the idea you have ups and you have downs. I now saw, "bah." That is simply a pendulum of feeling a latent and subconscious guilt, balanced by self-made suffering to make up for the guilt. Relgion in my life has played a role in this by supporting the subconscious guilt. The suffering was nothing more than self-flagelation. I can't always see how I caused it, but I do believe we create our own reality. So now, I work at pushing the old feeling of "well, we have to go through tests," or "I probably deserve this depression, this money problem, and etc." I get up my fists and punch at it, and it can be a hard enemy. But I now know, at least, that it is not what my human-divine nature is about." I do not know where the book specifically speaks to this, but it does start by making a strong case that I deserve to be rich, wealthy and properous. It is one thing to say that in my head, but another to get that into practice. So it is my determination to fight with any poverty thinking, any hardship, and treat them as mirages. Fakes. To call them stupid names outloud in meditation. To claim my wealth as a good thing, and that I never need to go through the poverty testing. That is only my own failure, if I do. I mean to allow it and create it. The leader, Rebecca, has said this so beautifully. Thanks everyone. As we share we grow. If we keep what we see to ourselves, we stagnate it, don't we? So thanks for sharing and letting me share, too. Smile

Like Terry, I too am a new member and new to SOGR. I am so happy and grateful to be reading the book and to be connected, albeit not personally, with Rebecca Fine and the great work she is promoting. She is walking the talk, giving so much value, being so giving and generous. Her work of getting the work/word out there is her contribution to world peace!
I am doing like Terry, cloud bursting through the old programming! Not long ago, I believed that having more than just what I need would contribute to more suffering in the world. Having access to unlimited resources far beyond basic needs is truly how I can fulfill my soul purpose by being all I can be--and can thus give more to the world. (Damn the army for taking that line and catholicism for that brainwashing line,"Lord i am not worthy to receive thee, but only say the word and I shall be healed".) We can be humble without the psychological harm of unworthiness and healing from feeling unworthy, guilty, ashamed, etc. is the key to being open to receiving what the universe is so ready to give! I say, thank you and bring on the abundance! My heart is open to receive and to give and for this and all my blessings, I give thanks!

Ah, then I've come to right place. Being a newbie I will learn the certain way, as in CMI. My question: Several weeks ago I created my own vision statement, which to me seems very ambitious and grandiose, ha! But as I look it over I see distinct goals, and bench marks. There is no mention of riches or money in my statement, but the achievement of these goals So, I just have to see and feel the goals already being accomplished? That's it? And the Universe will take over the process (the how's)?

Great Day!

Always remember with CMI, it is the FEELING of that visualization.

Gigniner,

It is great you have constructed a vision statement, I would assume it is for personal and business? There are usually three financial intentions business people like to state in their vision statement.

1. Net worth
2. Annual Gross Income
3. Annual contribution to charity or organizations

In my opinion, it is not enough to see and feel the goals already being accomplished. You need to take action, and your purpose has to be intune with the universe. If you are projecting this image for selfish reasons and to live only for your own enjoyment, I do not believe you will attain your intention. However, if your purpose is of growth and increase for yourself and everyone else, you most certainly will achieve your intention and more fastly than your brain can imagine.

Peace and Blessings

Well, people actually DO get those intentions all the time. Just look around. We see people getting all sorts of things they want and yet not feeling fulfilled in any way -- for example, the tabloid stories of "celebrities" who seem to have it all in terms of money, fame, and so on who end up addicts or suicides.

But THAT kind of manifestation is NOT "the certain way" which rests on "more life to all and less to none" and also on understanding that that wealth INCLUDES money, but money does not truly equal wealth.

Hi John

Welcome! Yes, just see exactly what you desire. Unless your CMI involves money in exchange for some service/product, i.e. a busines CMI, there isn't any need to include money if it is not part of the end result that excites you. Most people envision receiving what they desire exactly as they want it, and if money is required, the universe will deliver it so that you can receive it to get what you want .Somtimes the universe delivers you what you desire in some other way, without the money.

Blessings
Kevin

Everyone agrees that this "Clear Mental Image" is an imaginary experience.
But IMAGE could be a misleading term since it implies only visual experience.

Just Remember how important IMAGE is to anyone in politics.

Quoting Stuart Lichtman:
quote:
an imaginary experience should include:
• seeing
• touching
• feeling
• moving
• hearing
• smelling
• tasting
• emotions
• thougts
• intuiting

I read the book over and oer and evry time pick up something new.I kept a journal and still do,to note what progress i have made.I have never in my life been able to create something, and give in return to make wealth.Somewhere in this forum i saw a small link and click on it.It was to make money with no start up fees, and you could make 300dollars a month.some ads say 4500 amonth.Iam not saying that you cant do it but you have to be fast and do it every day . I have learned a lot about making money online, nothing is free, you pay somewhere. My plan is to make the mone,or create AND GIVE SOMETHING IN RETURN.I have a website and promoite a site it cost 5 dollars,so its not free, and i have free tools on my site

Hey, Bruce -- how much do you have to pay to read or participate in this forum? Wink

I agree about re-reading the book. After 11 years I can still get new stuff!

Hi All,
I am new to this site. The way I see it, is the CMI is the blueprint and the feelings/emotions are the manifester.

I've decided that the most important thing I can do right now is to get a very clear mental image. Unfortunately I'm having trouble with what that actually needs to be for me. I've decided to journal about it and see where that leads me.

I journaled this morning about my CMI. I've concluded that my CMI is 'I have plenty of time, energy and money to do anything I want any time I want.' My journaling gives me more details on what this means to me. This along with gratitude opens up my life.

Over the past few months of reading and listening to SOGR my CMI has slowly refined and re-defined itself into a more distinct and clear image. Not only have I written and re-written it, but the pictures that have helped to define these desires have changed as well. While the actual items and places have been developed into a clearer image, the CMI has grown to include more in the ways of others.

In the beginning, it was all about me, what I wanted for my sake, and in some ways it still is, but as my CMI grows I find myself adding others into the growth circle. The concept of “more life for all and less for none” has gratefully weaved its way into my CMI, and this adds a new found passion to it.

My CMI is the foundation upon which I am rebuilding the temple of me. Without SOGR surely my temple would have fallen into ruination by now.

Have you hugged your CMI today?

Methinks a loy of people get too deep'\\Here is the simple solution

Goal setting made easy. Set the WHERE and forget the HOW

Relax and just enjoy the experience.

Mostly we pay with time but sometimes with a conflict with our beliefs that needs to be addressed.
