2010 has been a good year for me. The first few months have delivered a skyrocket in income, even matching some of the best 9 to 5s I have had working in studios in Hollywood.

You see, I've gotten pretty good at small things. visualizing hitting income targets and getting particular types of work etc. One of my favorites is when I visualized a very specific type of client, asking me to do a very specific type of work, and in a few days that exact client appeared.

The thing is, I had a destination. I wanted to move. I was in a bad environment and I wanted to take me and my girlfriend to a better place. As I set out to make this happen, just as you might suspect, all good things fell into place. My income rose astronomically, though I did almost no work. Great opportunities for places just appeared. Sales for all the furniture etc. one would need to startup a new place happened. I was able to quickly get a new place, pay first month, last month, deposit, buy all the furniture and do everything with effortless ease. Then, once I got there, things slowed down considerably. Of course, I must admit that I did spend too much time sitting in front of the TV rather than working on my business or any vision.

The problem is, the small visions and tests don't do it for me anymore. There's no more excitement in them. Nothing to bring about great feelings. It's time to move on, and never before have I ever been so clear on what I truly want to do. I have the power and ability to do it, and there's nothing stopping me from doing it but me. Part of this is because what I want to do has nothing to do with my present business. It has served me well, but I just don't want to do it anymore.

What I really want to do is fairly long term. I am sitting with the question of how to survive while I get into it and get the project off the ground. The easy answer is, of course, my present business. So I have this idea to create yet another new product to sell in my business. I don't want to do this. In fact, I know this is motivated by fear. WHen I was moving, I already proved that the universe can deliver great things through my business without me having to constantly create new products.

I have 30 products for sale in my business. I've been told I am sitting on a gold mine. If just the products I have did decent sales I'd be a millionaire. The thing is, even holding visions of that does nothing for me. The only thing that excites me now is living where I really want to live and doing what I really want to do.

I was to follow Napoleon Hill or Joseph Campbell I would drop everything, start doing what I really want to do and let the Universe take care of the rest. And maybe that is the way to go.

Mr. Wattles, however, says that you actions for the present must be in your current business and current environment. He also advises against seeking some new and remarkable thing to do.

So I am stuck whether or not to make yet another product to sell in my current business. And I wonder if that is showing a lack of faith in all the products I already have and in my new venture. I also just plain don't want to.

Of course, Mr. Wattles says, when in doubt wait and fall back on the contemplation of the vision with faith and gratitude for a couple of days. I will certainly do that, in the expectation that I will make no mistake when I do act, but I would also love to hear any other ideas and thoughts on my current situation.

Thanks everyone,

Well, Wally says you START in your present business or job. In other words, you start where you ARE. He doesn't say you stay there forever.

Sounds like you started where you are and now you're wanting something else.

Action doesn't show a "lack of faith." I'd say it's quite the opposite. But taking action when you're not in alignment with what you truly want is a waste of time, energy, money, and everything else. Knowing what you really DO want to be doing and letting yourself go there in your imagination is the prelude to action that will be inspired (and fun).

Hmmmm.....

That's not quite the way that I read the book either. While he advises us to start where now he doesn't advise us to stay there or to not seek something new or remarkable.

And Action is required, but it is inspired action which doesn't seem like work at all!

My guess is that you already have built up a sphere of influence with your current business, you can easly build up a sphere of influence with another business; but it might take some time. If you have enough walking around money you might want to jump right into the new venture, if not hang on to your current business while developing your new business.

Another thing to consider is selling your current business. Is it something that someone else could take over with some training?

Thank you all very much for the wise replies. I think, for the time being, I will continue in my present business, try to work a bit fewer hours, and slowly get started on my dream project. Eventually, I'll be able to get out of the work I don't like, and make the transition to doing what I really feel good about.

RETHINKING

I saw an interesting quote that Phil put in another thread. It says:

“I imagined myself, over and over — even way back when I was a total poverty case — living a life of ease, strolling around my big white house on a hill, with nothing to do, sitting on several million worth of assets. I visualized this repeatedly, and it came true in my life.” Marc Allen, self-made publishing multi-millionaire

This got me thinking. Who really visualizes work? I don't mean to imply there's anything wrong with that. Some people may visualize doing what they truly want to do. But when I looked at that quote, I thought that is really more of the end result as opposed to how you get there, which may or may not be your business.

Another way of putting it, just as an example. If you could have, in say two years, millions of dollars in liquid cash or assets, the ultimate dream home, the car and everything else, and the road to get there was with effortless ease, would you care how you got there?

This could lead to the question, Does the Universe know better than me, what I want? Meaning, if I were to drop visualizing any particular business, and instead simply visualize where I want to be, in all areas of life, isn't it possible that the Universe could present a road to get there that is even more joyful, more effortless and more in line with what I really want than what I think I want to do?

It's not that the Universe knows better than you what you want, it's that it knows better than you HOW TO GET YOU what you want.

YES YES YES!!! You've got it!!! Big Grin The important thing that I have found is to be very clear about the end result. Then, relax and let it go. What happens to me once I relax into it (and I do use a lot of EFT and One Command meditation to get relaxed) is that I get inspirations, and then I take action based on those inspirations, and VOILA! I reach my goal. A rule of thumb for me has been to take ONLY inspired action-otherwise, I'm getting into the "HOW" part, operating from ego,and end up spinning my wheels. As Rebecca said:

I've been on this forum a few years, Julia, and I have seen your transformation step by step. Since we both want to do our art, I know you are one to listen to!

You likely can't imagine how much your words mean to me, and how much I appreciate them. Well, actually, you probably can! Wink

Thank you so much!

AN UPDATE

Earlier today I wrote someone regarding an opportunity and an action I probably should have taken months ago, but didn't, because I was trying to control the how. That door is still open, and I did some experimenting with moving in the direction of that opportunity and it was quite fun and rewarding. I will continue on this line for now.

Thanks again all!

I just came across an A-H thought that says this same exact thing.

"There is nothing that you are suppose to do and nothing that is undone that you should have gotten to. There is nothing that you are meant to do that you must now find a way to do."
- Abraham-Hicks -

Interesting, to me.

Does this mean I don't have to go back and confess to my mom that I forgot and left my pencil box at school the end of the school year, when I was 8 years old?

That's a relief.

MORE RETHINKING

One of the things that has become more clear to me is that there are steps to the process. I have been digging through the archives, rereading the book and some parts of the course, especially related to action.

I often got hung up on The chapter on Efficient Action, but now I believe I have a bit more clarity on it. That is to say, that there are steps.

I was so concerned about sitting down and waiting for results, that I searched out and tried to invent whatever action I deemed necessary and, thus, my whole focus tended to be on action. I had not considered that Mr. Wattle says do not give your vision over to formless and then sit down and wait for results. The idea here being that giving the vision to formless is first.

He talks about contemplating a vision until it is so fixed on memory and so completely transferred to formless than you will make no mistake when you do act, and that you become enthusiastic and call forth great energy for your action. Having not felt that, I can see that I haven't actually done the first part yet, which makes sense, because I was too focused on just taking action, and all the while never feeling good about any of it.

One of the things I have been really concerned about is whether what I think I want is what I really want. In reading the archives here, I found that many who really spent time to sit with their vision, and go deep into contemplating it, realize that there is more. They find something behind what they think they want, or something related that is what they really want. Then they get truly excited and fired up. They get to that good feeling place often talked about.

Hi Teruchan,

I joined the course and these forums in January of 2007. In March of 2007 I first posted in a reply to Clarita that I one of my CMI's was to be a student and a teacher for the rest of my life, my subjects were peace, health and prosperity! I have posted frequently since then of that CMI, I had that CMI in my brain long before I knew what a CMI was, and now that is the direction that I am headed. I am now a master personal trainer!

But in January of 2007 I owned a printing business that was going downhill because my wife/partner and I were arguing about the business. The action that I took was to stop arguing and work toward rebuilding the business! That year we realized $100,000 more in profit than the year before! As Wally suggested I started where I was at the time; and in a certain way!

The business expanded beyond my expectations, but I still didn't think that were ready to sell; but a business broker thought that we were. After I gave him financials of the business he told me what he thought he could sell it for; which was about $200,000 more than what I thought it could sell for. I told him to go ahead, within a month he had a full cash, full price buyer.

With out my thinking of how I would become a student and a teacher of peace health and prosperity we had earned enough money and gave ourselves enough time that I could now pursue that CMI. Other CMI's such as time with family, travel, improvements to our home have also been realised.

You might consider taking action where you are now - but keep that vision of your CMI clearly in mind!

My actions so far have been getting me nowhere, or making things much much worse. Does it not make sense to get my CMI perfectly clear first?

Makes a great deal of sense to me, and from who/what I've studied (John Assaraf, Neville Goddard, Joseph Murphy, Wayne Dyer, Venice Bloodsworth, Florence Scovel Shinn, and others).

Who said it? “Action is overrated.” I don’t remember, but I think he or she had a valid point.

Look around at people steeped in action, especially workaholics neglecting their health or their family.

Personally, I’ve been at that place where a lot of action just burned me out. And with nothing much to show for it.

For years now, I’ve been ‘working’ at getting better at feeling good feelings. And letting those good feeling be like a ‘platform’ or foundation from which to take action (or just enjoy the feeling). It seems I now take much less action and get much better results.

Here are some A-H thoughts I consider.

“All you have to do is get into vibrational harmony with your desire, and your desire must be given to you - and the Universe will find endless ways of bringing it to you.”

“If you had one goal, and that was to feel good, you would never again need to hear another word from anyone. You would live successfully and happily and in a way of fulfilling your life's purpose ever after.”

Phil

It's the only thing that does make sense!

AND the only reason to get perfectly clear on your cmi is to feel good in the clarifying. Any kind of "getting clear" that feels like hard work or "this'll never happen" or anything like that is counter-productive. It's the PLAYING with the ideas that is powerful.

let me offer another perspective. The fact that you are noticing that you are getting nowhere is in fact putting you in a no win situation.

There are many ways to get where you want to go. However, if the very act of observing that you are getting no where doesn't feel good, and only makes things worse, then it makes more sense to me to start noticing what is getting you somewhere. Sounds too simple? Wally makes it quite plain what we are to do. It's just that we humans enjoy complicating things sometimes, or maybe most of the time Wink It takes a whole lot of unlearning before we learn the "certain way", but when you even get a fraction of it right, I can tell you that it's really worth it!

Keep going!

Blessings
Kevin

Are you grateful for your present business? I am grateful for everything that I have now, and for everything that is coming to me.

I also believe that the more that I am grateful for what I have now; the more of my CMI's will be coming to me!

Wally does tell us to start where we are now, with what we have now and to spend our leisure time contemplating our CMI's.

We all are taking some action every day, some of that action is taking us toward our CMI's; other action is taking us away from our CMI's!

Where is your action taking you!

If you are clear about what you want to be doing it sounds like you have a CMI; you have recieved inspiration. What inspired action are you taking to realizing that CMI?

Yes. I am more than grateful for my present business. It has been the channel of so much good coming to me, sometimes in great quantities. In fact, I still think it is a cool business. I just don't want to do it anymore. By that I mean further it.

I would love to attract great customers, as I believe their are thousands who can benefit from it, but I don't feel a desire to create new products for it. I have 30 great products, and I would love to keep selling them, but for creative endeavor, I most certainly want to do something else.

My actions currently have no relation to my present business. As I said, I would love to attract great customers. I hold a vision of that. I do not, however, have any idea how to do that, and I know I don't need to concern myself with how anyway. As a result, my action is to do thew only thing I am inspired to do. That is make my animation.

I have found that thing they talk about, where I have amazing enthusiasm and can't wait to get out of bed in the morning and do it. I feel like a kid again. In fact, it was going back and thinking of those old times that really brought me back to this.

I recently got amazing advice from a well known veteran independent animator. It's not related to my business, or any business, but about developing myself, my style, my drawing. I have been following his advice and having a blast everyday. It feels great! Other opportunities are popping up. I may be going to the Hiroshima Animation Festival to do some demo work. (Going to Japan again is in my CMI) None of this is paid, or related to my business, but I sure would love to do it.

In fact, my most successful months in this business I wasn't doing anything related to it. I was moving. I was going out looking for apartments everyday and then looking for furniture and appliances. I hardly touched a computer and the customers just kept flying in! And sure enough, when I decided to get in there and mess with things and do what I thought was making this success happen, it was like I just shut it down! This brings me to those age old questions which often appear in this forum:

How would I do things differently if I were willing to let it be easy?

I would stick with my inspiration and enthusiasm. Do my animation, and not care how it can or will make any money. I would choose to believe my present business will attract a great flow of customers and keep holding my vision of that. If I get inspired to take some action to help that attracting customers along, I will happily do that in a heartbeat. Until then, I will stick to my vision and do the thing I am inspired to do.

What would I be doing it I already had millions of dollars or a bottomless bank account?

I would be making my animation. And nothing else (except having fun and travel with family and friends of course)

Teruchan,

It sounds to me you're on the right track.

One other thing, though. I'm not sure if you mentioned it. Is 'feeling what it's like to already have what you want' something you practice doing? If so, do you do it regularly, daily?

In other words, do you pay attention to how you feel? If so, how consistently?

It seems, SOGR and others say, we want to get to where we're in the vibe pretty regularly, e.g., "pray without ceasing,".

What do you think?
