Hello All,

On the first page of SOGR Chapter 8 pg. 27, Mr. Wattles says that "to impress your wants upon the thinking substance remember that it must be done by a coherent statement."

Ok. I understand the next sentence, but where I seem to be caught up at is the appropriate beginning wording of one's coherent statement.

Does one start with, "I desire...? Or "I ask...?

Hopefully, this doesn't seem like a silly question. When I first made my statement, I said, "I manifest....", but after reading posts, I've become uncertain if this was correct.

Yes, I did check out the Archives, but couldn't find what I was looking for. Maybe because it's so simple. Smile

Thanks for any input.

Sharon

Well I always start with "I now choose...." or "I'm now ready to accept...." Late at night I sometimes just lie there and say in my head "I'm listening" waiting for inspiration and guidance. Seems to work for me

Greetings Sharon & all friends,

I use:
"Thanks Father for my Wealth/Success/Health/whatever desire"...,

with intense happy feelings of accomplishment already and absolute no doubt of getting it, totally allowing to happen, 'cause it's a done deal! ... Wink

Hi Sharon,

If there is one thing I have learned in the last five years being a part of the SOGR forums, and growing personally and spiritually in general, it is that there is a no right way of doing anything, but there is a correct way of doing everything, and the correct way of doing anything is the way that feels right to you. After all, you were born with everything you need to be successful in life.

Go with what feels right to you. I start out with "Dear God, I don't know how to do this to be effective, but I know that you know, so help me with this so I can get it right." Then just let the pen do the writing of your fingers do the tapping or typing. The right thing will just flow out from it and you will know when it FEELS right.

When it feels right, you're already there. The work is done. As Mr. Wattles puts it:

"Once you have clearly formed your vision, the whole matter turns on receiving. When you have formed it, it is well to make an oral statement, addressing the supreme in gratitude. Then, from that moment on you must, in mind, receive what you ask for."

Great question Sharon. I like what Rasheed said about there being no "right" way to do this. It boils down to "what you are most comfortable with?". You can tell this by how you feel. Your feelings will always tell you where your thoughts are. If you pay attention to them (and shift your thoughts if needed) you will be headed in the best direction for you and everyone else.

For my part, I like to keep things simple. I begin with things like:

- I am...
- I have...

In doing it this way I find it flows nicely with the advice Mr. Wattles gives on page 28:

quote:
In the mental realm, enter at once into full enjoyment of the things you want.

Hi Sharon,

Things will become clearer as you continue to think, and read, and participate here.

"to impress your wants upon the thinking substance remember that it must be done by a coherent statement."

Coherent means logical or rational.

Statement means declaration or announcement.

We are not instructed to ask, we are instructed to declare what we want, and to describe it in detail.

Hope this little bit helps.

Wow! Thank you all for your valuable inputs. Each post gave me more insight.

I felt I needed direction because after reading posts and checking archives, I felt unsure of the way I was making my Coherent Statement. Then I realized the word “Manifestation” is the “receiving” of one’s CMI.

I feel this board has an experienced collective consciousness that helps to shorten the time of our floundering around.

I am grateful for all your valuable input. Thank you! Smile

I like the quote from Mr. Wattles that Dave M. provided.

For me formless substance and our subconscious mind works better with images rather than words. Whenever I use words as affirmations I change them into images.

I studied some neuro-linguistic programming, and I learned that the more senses you use, the better your results. Also, mr. Wattles encourages use to enter in the full enjoyment. So I try to incorporate imagery, sound, feeling, smell, taste and words. Works wonders for me!

(Well OK, I didn't use 'taste' with the car part of my c.m.i.....)

Hello Sharon,

I think a part of the 'coherent statement' is your CMI.

The way I do it is to visualize my CMI. Such as visualizing my new house, the color, the lawn, tree, etc. and me walking up to the front door, and/or walking through the new house.

For the verbal part I use "Thank you for bringing this wonderful new house to me!" (not always spoken) and I imagine it has happened and how I feel now that it is done. I usually feel I've gotten 'there' when I'm a little teary eyed from happiness.

And, in general I use "Thank you for bringing me all these wonderful successes!"

This has worked for me. My new house was completed Jan 29th. Plus, the multitude of other successes I've had.

Best of Success!!!

Hi Sharon

I found the phrase "What if..." to be most effective in engaging my mind to imagine the best of what I feel I desire. This is so that I put my rational mind out of the equation altogether until the later stages of the process when I need to plan(with inspired actions of course Wink)

When I use the term "What if..", I let my mind wander and play with whatever I desire, this reduces all the resistance that may creep up unconsciously into my brains and and by letting it be easy.,I can enjoy all of it! Big Grin

Much blessings

Blessings
Kevin

Thank you Kevsky and Verne for your added input!

Presently, until now, I still have the problem of total visualization of my CMIs- there is only one area of strong visualization and that's probably because it's concrete (a particular car) and not abstract such as becoming a more successful and consistent Futures trader.

It's kind of a funny story (NOW) of why my CMI car is so vivid, but I'll share the story.

A few weeks ago I was on my way to see my son's/his family's new home in Portland, OR. It's located on a very high hill. Everything was fine until I got to this 16th Street which is sloped worse than a right triangle's hypotenuse. I went around this little loop, put my wonderful little Toyota Paseo in third gear, but it didn't want to have anything to do with that hill. The clutch started smoking and making noise while the car was moving inches with two cars behind me honking while I'm having heart failure Eek trying to get to the side of the road. Yes, I was panicking! Big Grin Swore I'd never go up that street again. (Fortunately know an alternative route to take next time.)

Well, my vivid CMI is seeing me tooling up 16th hill in my new car that has an automatic transmission. Big Grin Guess you can see why that one would be so vivid!

I do now have my written CMI statements clear and concise.

Kevsky, your "What if..." is added to my repertoire of stopping those pesty unwanted thoughts that do creep up.

As far as total visualizion, I know I'll make it at some point. I'm using Mister Weirdo suggestion, "Dear God, I don't know how to do this to be effective, but I know that you know, so help me with this so I can get it right."

Thanks again,
SharonSS

Sharon,

It is not because IT is abstract, but your definition is abstract. "More successful and consistent" than what? Let's get specific.

How about consistently making X number of trades per week, or earning X amount of $ per week?

Or how about someone who instinctively or intuitively knows when to buy and sell and profits handsomely every time?

Or someone who attracts and makes the right deals at the right time to be handsomely profitable?

Hi Mr Weirdo,

I'm sorry for using the word "abstract" since it caused a misunderstanding. Yes, my CMI (or coherent statement) is specific. In fact, there are nine parts to make the whole.

I really got a kick out of your suggestions though as you hit on several of the "parts" without knowing it. Smile Good job there! Smile

Perhaps "being" would have been a better word. Whatever the proper word, I'm ok/comfortable in that area. I just had been concerned, until now, about the visualizing part of that particular coherent statement. But it will come. At least I have the feeling part down. Smile

Thank you,
SharonSS

I am grateful that the Universe consistently finds ways for me to be of service. Smile Even, it seems, when I don't know what I am doing. Smile

Thanks for the opportunity.
